Good morning FA Nation and Happy National Fantasy Football Draft Day!

The crew here has been working tirelessly to make sure that the information in both our 2017 NFL Fantasy Football Draft Guide and the Draft Book is completely up to date and all you will need to absolutely CRUSH your opponents in the war room this weekend.

We are currently evaluating the impact of the injury news for both Spencer Ware and Julian Edelman right now. Ware was diagnosed with a knee sprain and will likely be out for several weeks and the Patriots “suspect” that Edelman may have torn his ACL. We have not made any changes to the rankings just yet as we are waiting for an official diagnosis and/or recovery timeline. However, if you look at the new download for the Draft Book, you will notice both names in red to indicate injury news pending.

The hot take is pretty simple for both. Stay away from Edelman if you are drafting today or tomorrow. We’re not sure when the Patriots will announce everything, but if you saw the injury (a non-contact knee injury), you can tell it was pretty serious. Chris Hogan will get a slight bump, but let’s not overdo it, people. Not after one solid preseason performance. If anything, Brandin Cooks owners can breathe a little easier with less target competition. And no, Danny Amendola is not making it into our rankings, so just stop.

For the Chiefs, Ware should be downgraded for sure, but don’t rule him out altogether, especially if you have an IR to use. Kareem Hunt definitely gets a significant boost here and I would consider him in the third or fourth round at this point. However, don’t lose sight of the fact that Charcandrick West is still there and if Ware goes on short-term IR and Hunt isn’t the beast everyone is expecting, he could make a comeback in the second half. Personally, though, I think Hunt runs away with the gig, but you have to be smart on Draft Day and maybe hedge just a bit.

***UPDATE - Aug. 26 @ 1:25pmET***

With the news that Edelman is officially out for the season and that Ware is expected to miss multiple weeks with a sprained knee, our Player Rankings and 2017 Draft Book have been fully updated to reflect the latest injury news.
