PrizePicks Prop Selections

  • lom1k (VP.Prodigy) - Over 19.5 Kills (Map 1)

I took the over for lom1k on Monday for the first day of this event, and he did not disappoint with 25 kills and a 1.20 Rating against Young Ninjas. He is a dynamic AWPer that finds impact in a number of ways, and he had a nice 1v2 clutch on Overpass against Young Ninjas to keep the map alive. Lom1k has had 23 or more kills on six of the nine maps that he has played with VP.Prodigy, and he has only gone under that total in losses. VP.Prodigy is a slight favorite against the newly formed Fnatic Rising roster, and lom1k is still averaging over 20 kills per map in losses with 145 kills in seven maps lost, so the over should be pretty safe even if Fnatic Rising come out on top. Lom1k has had a Rating of at least one on eight of his nine maps played, which demonstrates his consistency with the AWP. This should be a great match-up for lom1k, and I just think this line is too low in general at 19.5 kills for a player of lom1k’s caliber. The most likely maps are Dust2, Overpass or Vertigo, but lom1k has not really shown a weakness or any particular map yet so the map pool is not much of a thought here.

  • glaVed (BIG Academy) - Over 20.5 Kills (Map 1)

BIG Academy had an impressive showing in their first map played against NAVI Junior with a 16-6 win on Mirage, and glaVed absolutely dominated. He had 25 kills in only 22 rounds with a 109.1 ADR and 1.59 Rating, and he was single-handedly winning rounds for his team. This BIG Academy team is new, so we do not have much data to use at this point, but glaVed was often the top frag for his past team, Sissi State Punks, and I expect to see him as one of the carries for this team going forward. The 20.5 kill projection may seem high, but I still see value on the over, especially given the fact that this should be a competitive game environment against Astralis Talent. I favor BIG Academy to win here, but the odds have them as only a slight favorite and we will likely see a close map. I expect to see either Mirage or Nuke as the map here, and we know what glaVed is capable on Mirage after he destroyed NAVI Junior on that map (Link: https://clips.twitch.tv/MoistAbrasiveFriesRlyTho-D6e9V5VWWaiMAQ9t). The last time we saw glaVed play Nuke, his team was heavily outmatched against Sprout and lost 6-16, yet he still managed 16 kills and a positive kill/death ratio, so he should be in for a monster day in a much easier match-up against Astralis Talent if Nuke is played. After the strong performance I saw from glaVed on Monday, I feel confident that he can find plenty of success going forward in his role with this team.
