CS:GO DFS Playbook – IEM Katowice 2021 Event 2.20.2021 (4- Match)

Liquid (Ranked 7th in World) @ Vitality (Ranked 3rd in World)

Betting Odds: Vitality -200/Liquid +150

Map Odds: Over 2.5 -110/Under -120

*This is a best of three Group B upper-bracket semi-final for the IEM Katowice Event.

*Liquid For Event: FalleN 1.67 Rating, EliGE 1.33, NAD 1.25, Grim 1.25, Stewie2K 1.24

*Liquid For the Last Three Months of Play: NAF 1.12 Rating, EliGE 1.11, Grim 1.03, FalleN 1.02, Stewie2K 0.95.

*Vitality For Event: shox 1.41 Rating, ZywOo 1.26, RpK 1.13, apEX 1.03, misutaaa 0.95.

*Vitality For the Last Three Months: ZywOo 1.33 Rating, shox 1.11, misutaaa 1.05, RpK 1.03, apEX 0.99.

H2H Data:

*These two teams played fairly recently at the BLAST Premier Global Final 2020 with Vitality winning in a 2-0 sweep with results of 16-11 on Vertigo and 16-14 on Nuke.

*Top Performers for Vitality (2 Maps): shox +17 K-D Diff, 1.33 Rating, 94.1 ADR. ZywOo +13 K-D Diff, 1.30 Rating, 73.1 ADR. Nivera +4 K-D Diff, 1.11 Rating, 60.8 ADR. RpK +2 K-D Diff, 1.12 Rating, 72.3 ADR.

*Top Performers for Liquid (2 Maps): FalleN +0 K-D Diff, 1.03 Rating, 71.6 ADR.

MAPS:

*The first two ban maps for this match should include Mirage and Train. I believe there is a good chance we see Dust2 and Vertigo for this match.

*Vitality on Vertigo (6 Maps): shox 1.31 Rating, 0.84 KPR, 1.24 IMP, 86.0 ADR. ZywOo 1.27, misutaaa 1.15, RpK 1.12. Nivera (1 Map – apEX sat- 1.71 Rating). On Dust2 (11 Maps): ZywOo 1.47 Rating, 0.94 KPR, 1.57 IMP, 94.0 ADR. Shox 1.05, Nivera 1.03, misutaaa 0.95, RpK 0.90.

*Liquid on Dust2 (6 Maps): NAF 1.22 Rating, 0.77 KPR, 1.19 IMP, 79.2 ADR. EliGE 1.18, Grim 1.18, Stewie2K 1.03, FalleN 0.95. On Vertigo (5 Maps) EliGE 1.28 Rating, 0.79 KPR, 1.50 IMP, 90.2 ADR. NAF 1.10, Grim 1.08, Stewie2K 1.05, FalleN 0.91.

Analysis: This is quite a revenge spot here for Liquid after being dealt the 0-2 sweep by Vitality at the BLAST Event not long ago. Liquid has won three-straight and have done so mainly since the move to FalleN taking over the IGL spot in this roster. I think that was an excellent move and I think they will give Vitality a run for the money here in this one. I think we see 3-maps and a VERY close match.

Gambit (Ranked 19th in World) @ Heroic (Ranked 6th in World)

Betting Odds: Gambit -130/Heroic +100

Map Odds: 2.5 Over -125/Under -110

*This is a best of three Group A lower bracket semi-final match for the IEM Katowice Event.

*Gambit For Event: sh1ro 1.24 Rating, Hobbit 1.17, Ax1Le 1.12, interz 1.01, Nafany 0.99.

*Gambit For the Last Three Months of Play: Sh1ro 1.24 Rating, Hobbit 1.20, Ax1Le 1.19, Nafany 1.04, interz 0.99.

*Heroic For Event: cadiaN 1.22 Rating, niko 1.17, TeSeS 0.98, b0RUP 0.94, stavn 0.88 (This guy is due to bounce-back soon)

*Heroic For the Last Three Months of Play: cadiaN 1.07 Rating, stavn 1.06, TeSeS 1.05, niko 1.0, b0RUP 0.90.

H2H Data:

*These two teams played twice back in 2020 with Heroic sweeping both matches. However, at LOOT.BET Season 6, which was the most recent played was the only one to have most of the same faces that are still on both squads now.

*Top Performers for Gambit (2 Maps): Ax1Le -2 K-D Diff, 1.08 Rating, 82.1 ADR.

*Top Performers for Heroic (2 Maps): TeSeS +23 K-D Diff, 1.46 Rating, 92.6 ADR. Niko +9 K-D Diff, 1.23 Rating, 81.1 ADR. Stavn +8 K-D Diff, 1.20 Rating, 79.4 ADR. cadiaN +6 K-D Diff, 1.19 Rating, 80.5 ADR.

MAPS:

*The first two ban maps for this match should include Dust2 for Heroic and Nuke for Gambit. The next most chosen maps lately are Overpass for Gambit and Vertigo for Heroic.

*Gambit on Overpass (10 Maps): Hobbit 1.33 Rating, 0.85 KPR, 1.41 IMP, 87.0 ADR. Sh1ro 1.26, Ax1Le 1.16, Nafany 1.11, interz 1.05. On Vertigo (13 Maps): Hobbit 1.29 Rating, 0.82 KPR, 1.32 IMP, 84.7 ADR. Ax1Le 1.23, sh1ro 1.22, Nafany 1.15, interz 1.02.

*Heroic on Vertigo (5 Maps): TeSeS 1.24 Rating, 0.80 KPR, 1.51 IMP, 87.4 ADR. Stavn 1.16, cadiaN 1.06, niko 0.92, b0RUP 0.88. On Overpass (3 Maps): TeSeS 1.10 Rating, 0.74 KPR, 0.95 IMP, 83.8 ADR. Stavn 1.00, cadiaN 0.97, b0RUP 0.94, niko 0.82.

Analysis: Hard to ignore the fact that Heroic has swept them both previous two matches played last year, but this Gambit team has really made some waves, including a 2-0 sweep over Mousesports in their latest match. Heroic is fresh off an 0-2 loss to Spirit however, and I believe they will be looking for a bounce-back here against a foe they have had wide success against in the past. I think we see Heroic get the ship right here, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see a Gambit win either, as Heroic were sleep-walking against Spirit last time out. IF they bring that same game, they will get beat by Gambit fairly easily.

FURIA (Ranked 11th in World) @ NaVi (Ranked 1st in World)

Betting Odds: NaVi -315/FURIA +225

Map Odds: Over 2.5 +110/Under -145

*This is a best of three Group B upper-bracket semi-final match for the IEM Katowice Event.

*FURIA For Event: arT 1.72 Rating, junior 1.46, KSCERATO 1.35, VINI 1.12, yuurih 1.06.

*FURIA For the Last Three Months of Play: yuurih 1.14 Rating, junior 1.14, KSCERATO 1.11, VINI 1.01, arT 1.00.

*NaVi For Event: S1mple 1.43 Rating, boombl4 1.41, electronic 1.17, Perfecto 0.95, flamie 0.93.

*NaVi For Last Three Months of Play: s1mple 1.37 Rating, electronic 1.11, Perfecto 1.02, boombl4 0.98, flamie 0.96.

H2H Data:

*These two teams played twice last year with NaVi sweeping both matches at the IEM Global Challenge 2020 Event and BLAST Premier Fall 2020 Finals.

*Top Performers for NaVi vs FURIA (4 Maps): s1mple +37 K-D Diff, 1.60 K-D, 1.41 Rating. Electronic +16 K-D Diff, 1.29 K-D, 1.23 Rating. Perfecto +9 K-D Diff, 1.15 K-D, 1.07 Rating.

*Top Performers for FURIA vs NaVi (4 Maps): No positive stat-lines for this span.

MAPS:

*The first two ban maps for this match should include Dust2 for FURIA and Vertigo for NaVi. I think the maps we see for this match include Inferno for FURIA (need to note that B1T does play Inferno for NaVi over flamie) and Nuke for NaVi.

*FURIA on Inferno (16 Maps): Junior (4 Maps) 1.28 Rating,0.81 KPR, 1.49 IMP, 83.6 ADR. yuurih 1.18 Rating, VINI 1.12, KSCERATO 1.09, arT 0.98. On Nuke (14 Maps): Junior (4 Maps): 1.28 Rating, 0.76 KPR, 1.19 IMP, 76.1 ADR. KSCERATO 1.08, arT 1.02, yuurih 1.00, VINI 0.91.

*NaVi on Nuke (15 Maps): s1mple 1.41 Rating, 0.93 KPR, 1.54 IMP, 92.5 ADR. Perfecto 1.13, electronic 1.08, flamie 1.05, boombl4 0.97. On Inferno (11 Maps): s1mple 1.38 Rating, 0.89 KPR, 1.35 IMP, 85.9 ADR. Electronic 1.18, B1T 1.02, boombl4 1.00, Perfecto 0.94.

Analysis: Junior is finally with the FURIA team and he made a great first impression. NaVi is just a bit too tough of a match up for FURIA at this time I believe, but we could see FURIA steal a map in this one. Odds are pointing to a NaVi sweep however.

Evil Geniuses (Ranked 9th in World) @ G2 (Ranked 10th in World)

Betting Odds: G2 -165/EG +125

Map Odds: 2.5 Over -115/Under -115

*This is a best of three Group A lower-bracket semi-final match for the IEM Katowice Event.

*Evil Geniuses For Event: Ethan 1.10 Rating, CeRq 0.97, Brehze 0.91, Tarik 0.78, Stanislaw 0.67.

*Evil Geniuses For the Last Three Months of Play: Brehze 1.03 Rating, Ethan 1.02, CeRq 0.97, Tarik 0.95, Stanislaw 0.87.

*G2 For Event: huNter 1.26 Rating, NiKo 1.19, nexa 1.00, AmaNEk 0.96, kennyS 0.88.

*G2 For the Last Three Months of Play: NiKo 1.10 Rating, huNter 1.01, kennyS 0.99, nexa 0.96, AmaNEk 0.90.

H2H Data:

*These two teams have played twice in 2021 so far with both winning one match a piece. EG won the most recent at BLAST Premier Spring Groups Event with a 2-1 result, while G2 won the latter match in the same Event in a 2-0 sweep.

*Top Performers for EG vs G2 (5 Maps): Brehze +19 K-D Diff, 1.22 K-D, 1.25 Rating. Tarik +12 K-D Diff, 1.14 K-D, 1.21 Rating. Ethan +4 K-D Diff, 1.04 K-D, 1.18 Rating.

*Top Performers for G2 vs EG (5 Maps): huNter +11 K-D Diff, 1.12 K-D, 1.13 Rating. AmaNEk +6 K-D Diff, 1.07 K-D, 1.01 Rating. Nexa +3 K-D Diff, 1.03 K-D, 1.08 Rating.

MAPS:

*The first two ban maps for this match should include Vertigo for EG and Overpass for G2. We have seen EG continue to go with Inferno and G2 has also continued their like for G2.

*Evil Geniuses on Inferno (11 Maps): Ethan 1.16 Rating, 0.69 KPR, 1.27 IMP, 79.0 ADR. CeRq 1.12, Tarik 1.05, Brehze 1.04, Stanislaw 0.92. On Dust2 (3 Maps): Ethan 0.98 Rating, 0.71 KPR, 1.06 IMP, 74.5 ADR. Stanislaw 0.71, Brehze 0.70, CeRq 0.69, Tarik 0.54.

*G2 on Dust2 (7 Maps): kennyS 1.20 Rating, 0.71 KPR, 1.20 IMP, 79.4 ADR. NiKo 1.15, huNter 1.02, nexa 1.00, AmaNEk 0.90. On Inferno (10 Maps): NiKo 1.05 Rating, 0.72 KPR, 1.13 IMP, 81.4 ADR. kennyS 0.98, huNter 0.94, nexa 0.93, AmaNEk 0.92.

Analysis: I believe this could be a classic each team wins their own map and we see a decider of likely Nuke, where I think we give a slight advantage to EG. I also could see either one of these teams sweeping in this match. I lean EG here, however.
