Welcome back to the Fantasy Alarm early-week NFL Injury Report. We are fresh off of Week three in the NFL, and even though the media is plaguing our good spot with Covid-19 news today for the Tennessee Titans, we must go on! There were quite a few injuries over Week three, so let’s discuss some of the major injury stories as we head into Week four!

Davante Adams WR, GB (Hamstring)

Adams is a situation that has yet to be reported on yet after the first official practice day of the week, but the good news on his situation is that one, he was a game-time call on Sunday in which they elected to hold him out, so this could have mean he likely was close to ready to play but Packers wanted to be safe, and two, the Packers’ next game isn’t until next Monday night, so this will give Adams ample time to continue to get treatment on his hamstring and rest as well. We will see how his status looks later on in the week.

Michael Thomas WR, NO (Ankle)

After MT has now missed two weeks in a row, Thomas has been reported to be “moving really well” after his latest practice on Friday of last week. He was ruled OUT for the Saints’ Week three tilt against the Packers, but it seems that he may have a better than not chance at taking the field for the Saints following Week four game against the Lions. At least that is the speculation at this point, and the signs are looking better than they have over the last two weeks. This could be a huge boost to this Saints offense, and particularly to their receiving game.

Julio Jones WR, ATL (Hamstring)

Jones was a game-time call all week as he sat out of practice with a hamstring injury. On Sunday, Jones was deemed inactive and did not take the field against the Bears. The fact that he was still deemed “questionable” to play on Sunday after not seeing a practice snap all week has to be very encouraging news, as the Falcons may have just felt that he was not exactly ready for a full game yet. This should bode well for Jones’s next opportunity to take the field, which is next Monday night against the Packers on Monday Night Football. Lots of extra healing time to get his back to, or as close to 100%.

Chris Godwin WR, TB (Hamstring)

All the hammy injuries this season, as it looks like we may have lost another star-studded wide-out to the same injury as many others have been dealing with. Godwin was reported that he will now likely “miss some time”, which is never a good sight with a lingering hamstring injury. Godwin, who already missed Week two after sustaining a concussion prior to their game against Panthers but was able to suit back up for Week three, and now has sustained a hamstring injury that could sideline him for a few weeks. Tough blow for Godwin and Godwin fantasy backers here.

Chris Carson RB, SEA (Knee)

If there is one thing we all hate to see, it is when an athlete intentionally tries to inflict a major injury onto another player, as what happened to Carson in Sunday’s match against the Cowboys. He was “gator-rolled” after getting tackled and did not return after that play. It has now been deemed that Carson suffered a first-degree knee sprain, and although the good news is that there were no ligament tears, he still looks to be potentially off the field for the next 1-2 games.

George Kittle TE, SF (Knee)

Not too much information to report on Kittle’s knee injury, however, it was reported that Head Coach Kyle Shanahan said that his knee will be re-evaluated on Wednesday of this week, so we will definitely re-visit his status on Friday’s injury report of this week. The Niners are now even more thin at the TE spot with veteran TE Jordan Reed sustaining a multi-week injury of his own in their game on Sunday.

Raheem Mostert RB, SF (Knee)

Another Niner hopeful for this week is Mostert. Much like Kittle, Head Coach Kyle Shanahan reported that Mostert will also be re-evaluated on Wednesday of this week as well. Both of these guys will hopefully be able to hit the practice field on Wednesday in preparation for this week’s game against the Eagles. It would be a huge help for the Niners, who have started off the season 2-1 anyways, to get both of these guys back for their offense, along with starting QB Jimmy Garoppolo. Another status that we should have more information on come Friday’s injury report.

D.J. Chark Jr. WR, JAX (Chest/Back)

Chark has been dealing with a couple different injuries that ultimately sidelined him for the Jags’ Week three action against the Dolphins. It was reported on Monday that Chark will undergo further testing to further evaluate the severity of his injuries. There is optimism however by Head Coach Doug Maronne that Chark will likely be just fine heading into Week Four but seeing as how he needs some additional testing to evaluate could mean it might be more than expected. We will continue to watch this situation as it unfolds later on in the week.

Diontae Johnson WR, PIT (Concussion)

Johnson will have to go through the league’s five-step concussion protocol this week to see if he will be able to make the field for the Steelers Week four tilt against the Titans. Johnson left early in the Steelers Week three match against the Texans and was officially ruled out the rest of the way due to sustaining the concussion. We will continue to monitor his progress in the protocol this week.

Jared Cook TE, NO (Groin)

It was pretty evident that Cook had sustained somewhat of a leg injury after he was brought into the medical tent during the first half of Saints game this past Sunday against the Packers. After leaving the medical tent, Cook then was walked to the locker room with the training staff where he was ultimately listed as questionable to return for the rest of the game. At the current time, Cook is questionable for Week four, and we will continue to monitor his status.

Jamison Crowder s WR, NYJ (Hamstring)

Some nice, positive reports out of Jets practice being that Crowder was listed as a limited participant in Tuesday’s practice, and he is also expected to be available for Thursday’s game against the Broncos. This is some good news for a Jets receiving corp that is already without Breshad Perriman . It does seem that Gase’s call of not putting Crowder on the IR officially did work out, in the event that he does take the field Thursday as anticipated.

Russell Gage WR, ATL (Concussion)

Gage left the Falcons game against the Bears on Sunday with what was referred to as “head” injury. Mainly, this can only be the result of a concussion in about 98% of the cases in which this injury is referred to. Although, it has yet to be made an official call on the “head” injury, in the event that it is indeed a concussion, Gage will be also going through the leagues five-point concussion protocol before being eligible to return for the Falcons in Week four against the Packers on Monday Night Football.

John Brown WR, BUF (Calf)

Brown left the Bills’ game against the Rams on Sunday with a calf injury. Brown did not return to the game after the intermission, and this is what makes this injury look to be a bit more serious than just a week-to-week ordeal. Calf injuries are one of the longest-lingering injuries that many really good players have sat out weeks dealing with, so this will be an important status to monitor going into the latter part of this week out of Bills practice.

DeSean Jackson WR, PHI (Hamstring)

Yet another hamstring injury to add to the plethora of other’s dealing with this injury at the current moment here with Jackson. The Eagles training staff are said to believe it is just a mild hamstring strain, however, Jackson will undergo some medical evaluation testing during Monday’s practice to see the significance of the injury and the extent. Signs initially are positive that it is just a strain of some instance, but we will await further reporting later this week.

Dallas Goedert TE, PHI (Ankle)

Add another receiver for the Eagles to the injury list along with Jackson, Reagor, and Jeffry (at least Jeffry is practicing and on the positive signs of his), but Goedert sustained a small fracture in his ankle during the Eagles tie ballgame with the Bengals on Sunday. It has been reported the Goedert is more than likely going to miss a couple of weeks with the injury, however, the good news is the injury will NOT require a surgical procedure to fix.

Phillip Lindsay RB, DEN (Toe)

Head Coach Vic Fangio has reported on Monday that Lindsay is “heading in the right direction” in terms of hitting the field for the Broncos Thursday Night Football game against the Jets after missing the last two weeks with a turf toe injury. The only bad thing that has also been reported in this instance is the fact that Fangio stated he will have a snap limitation upon returning for his first game back. It has yet to be deemed exactly what that count will be, but either way, taking the field is a big step for Lindsay after just a two-week absence.

Mike Williams WR, LAC (Hamstring)

Oh look, another hamstring injury! Williams went down in the Chargers Sunday game against the Panthers and basically spent the entire second-half of the game on the sideline being tended to by the training staff. We have yet to have any reports of the severity of the injury, so we will look to have more info on his situation later this week hopefully.

Jimmy Garoppolo QB, SF (Ankle)

It has been reported by Head Coach Kyle Shanahan that Jimmy G has yet to retake the practice field, and the uncertainty is still there going into Wednesday’s practice as well. Jimmy sustained the ankle injury in the Niners Week two win over the Jets and missed their Week three game as a result. Obviously, we will need to keep an eye on Jimmy to see if he does take the practice field any at all, or he could potentially be looking at ceding another start to back-up QB Nick Mullens for Week four’s match against the Eagles.
