What is up, FANation! Welcome back to the Friday October 25th, edition of the Fantasy Alarm NBA DFS Value Vault! As you saw yesterday with James’s edition, we outline THREE players from both DraftKings and FanDuel that we believe has monster value for the price/game flow/tempo, etc. for tonight’s NBA slate! Tonight, we have NINE games on the slate to kick-off the weekend, Jon and James have already dropped the Fantasy Alarm NBA podcast for the slate, Fensty will have a Starting-Five Video for us later as well. So, let’s get down to some V-A-L-U-E!

DRAFTKINGS

Hassan Whiteside ($7,200)- On a slate like tonight, where there are some big named Centers such as Karl Anthony-Towns, Anthony Davis , and Nikola Jokic , all priced well above$9k, it may be easier to find a bit of value to help fit some other studs in a more balanced lineup. That is where Hassan Whiteside comes in. Hassan was a beast on the boards in his debut start for the Portland Trailblazers on Wednesday against the Denver Nuggets. He ripped down 19 of them to be exact, to go along with 16 points and two swats. Whiteside obviously was not kidding around during the preseason when he said he wanted to lead the league in rebounds for this season, and it showed already in game one. As long as Nurkic is on the side-lines, Whiteside will continue to be the main starting 5 for the Blazers, and tonight he gets a Sacramento team that does not have near the size at the Center spot. Not to mention, this game has one of the higher totals on the board. Look for Hassan to be active early and often.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($6,500)- I believe with how loaded the PG/G position is on this slate with the likes of Kyrie, Dame, LBJ, and Doncic, most won’t even make it this far down the list before selecting one of those options. Again, not saying I won’t be using some of those options as well, but we are looking for value. So, why SGA? Well, I believe he is mis-priced a smidge at $6.5k on DraftKings, where he is priced at $6.8K on FanDuel. In the Thunder’s first game they had a very tough task of facing the Utah Jazz in Utah. Not a formula for fantasy success. Even so, SGA was able to still rack up almost 32 fantasy points, which is what he would need tonight to hit 5x his value at this price. Let’s also mention the fact that he took TWENTY-THREE field goal attempts, and carried a massive 32.5% usage rate. OHHH, and they are playing wizards. Get him in.

Josh Hart ($3,200)- Can’t go away from my boy after he had such a great game one, topping over 10x his salary on DraftKings! Not only did he top 10x, it was against a very good defensive team in the Toronto Raptors. Hart was the main focal point of the 2nd unit for the Pelicans, and he will continue to be as long as Zion is sitting on the side-lines. With Zion being out, this creates a need for Ingram to slide down a little as long and lengthy as he is and play some of the PF spot, thus allowing extra space that the wing position. This played well into Hart’s role, as he played 28 minutes, went 4-of-9 from the field for 15 points, 10 rebounds, one assist, and one block, accruing his first double-double bonus as well. His usage wasn’t off the charts, it was a solid 17.4%, so at least admirable, but we know the he makes a huge impact on the game when he is on the floor, and it seems that he will be on the floor quite a bit this season. Way too cheap here, as on FanDuel he is priced at $4.4k!

FANDUEL

Will Barton ($5,400)- Quite an impressive first game for Mr. Barton, and just so happened that Barton got the start at the SF spot. He did not disappoint with his granted playing time, as he played 31 minutes on the night, recorded a very nice PACE of 106.08, carried a modest 19.5% usage rate, while putting up 19 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block. Now, one big reason why I like Barton here on FanDuel is mainly because of the scoring format for steals and blocks, where they are worth three points each on FanDuel, compared to only two points each on DraftKings. This will bode well for Barton tonight as the Nuggets welcome the Suns into town! Love Barton at this price for tonight.

Marcus Morris ($5,500)- You must love Marcus Morris at this price, and to be quite honest, I am a big fan of Morris on both sites tonight. This game between the Knicks and Nets has one of the top highest totals on the board, and Morris played 39 minutes in the Knicks debut loss in San Antonio against the Spurs. That game also hit a total of 231. Morris was a beast, shooting 9-for-18 from the field, 3-7 from three-point land, while also grabbing four boards, dishing one assist, and THREE steals. That buzz word once again. You must take advantage of value plays that get good amounts of steals and blocks, in which will play into Morris again here tonight versus the Nets. Let’s not fail to mention that Morris carried a 21.6 usage rate, good for second highest behind Julius Randle , and ran at a very nice PACE of 111.9!

Marvin Williams ($3,700)- This is more than a dumpster dive play here, as Marv could potentially fall into a much larger role. Both Cody Zeller and Nicolas Batum will not be in suit tonight when the Hornets play host to the Minnesota T-Wolves. This is not a fade per say against the Wolves, it is more of an opportunity cost exploitation, as Marv saw 12.4 mins at the Center spot in the Hornets first game against the Bulls. With PJ Washington playing a little of both the 4 and the 5, I believe this will open up ample playing time for Marv Williams as well. Williams only played 16 mins against the Bulls, but he was highly efficient scoring 17 points, grabbing two boards, and dishing one dime, with a 138.9 OFFRTG and the 3rd HIGHEST usage on the team at 21.4%! He has value in one of the higher totals on the board tonight.
