CS:GO DFS Playbook: FunSpark ULTI 2020 Europe Finals – 4.20.2021 (2-Match)

BIG (Ranked 12th in World) @ Extra Salt (Ranked 23rd in World)

Betting Odds: BIG -270/Extra Salt +200

*This is a best of three upper bracket quarter-final match for the FunSpark ULTI 2020 Europe Final.

*BIG For the Last Month of Play (5 Maps): XANTARES 1.12 Rating, tabseN 1.04, syrsoN 1.01, k1to 0.94, tiziaN 0.80.

*BIG For the Last Three Months of Play (43 Maps): tabseN 1.11 Rating, syrsoN 1.10, XANTARES 1.10, k1to 1.01, tiziaN 0.93.

H2H Data:

*These two teams have not played any recent head-to-head matches.

MAPS:

*The first likely two banned maps for this match should include Mirage for Extra Salt and Train for BIG. With Train out for Extra Salt, I believe they likely go with Overpass as their map choice, while BIG will likely go with Dust2.

*Extra Salt on Overpass (10 Maps): oSee 1.41 Rating, 0.90 KPR, 1.40 IMP, 87.4 ADR. MarKE 1.20, Sonic 1.15, FaNg 1.15, JT 1.14. On Dust2 (5 Maps): MarKE 1.27 Rating, 0.76 KPR, 1.33 IMP, 81.8 ADR. oSee 1.19, Sonic 1.16, JT 1.01, FaNg 0.96.

*BIG on Dust2 (8 Maps): syrsoN 1.22 Rating, 0.71 KPR, 1.28 IMP, 82.8 ADR. k1to 1.20, tabseN 1.10, XANTARES 0.98, tiziaN 0.95. On Overpass (5 Maps): tabseN 1.09 Rating, 0.75 KPR, 1.24 IMP, 85.9 ADR. syrsoN 1.08, tiziaN 0.97, XANTARES 0.93, k1to 0.83.

Analysis: When I first started writing this match up, I felt that I would be on Extra Salt by the end, and well I am. I feel like Extra Salt came into the Spring Showdown a bit nervous and they were up against Spirit, which is a pretty stellar team. BIG really have not showed much life lately, they have lost three of their four matches, and Extra Salt has literally won roughly 30 of their last 34 or so matches played, including a Grand Final win in a 3-0 sweep. I think folks will jump on BIG, mainly because they are the Vegas favorite and a higher World Rank, but the value is on Extra Salt in my eyes.

Evil Geniuses (Ranked 20th in World) @ Dignitas (Ranked 25th in World)

Betting Odds: Evil Geniuses -155/Dignitas +120

Map Odds: 2.5 Over -105/Under -125

*This is a best of three upper bracket quarter-final match for the FunSpark ULTI 2020 Europe Final.

*Evil Geniuses For the Last Month of Play (18 Maps): Brehze 1.19 Rating, oBo 1.04, CeRq 1.00, Stanislaw 0.86.

*Evil Geniuses For the Last Three Months of Play (46 Maps): MICHU 1.14 Rating, Brehze 1.12, oBo 1.04, CeRq 0.98, Stanislaw 0.98.

*Dignitas For the Last Month of Play (48 Maps): Lekr0 1.13 Rating, f0rest 1.11, HEAP 1.08, hallzerk 1.02, friberg 0.93.

H2H DATA:

*These two teams played one head-to-head recently back at the Snow Sweet Snow 3 Event with Evil Geniuses winning a 2-1 result with a win of 22-19 on Train and 16-10 on Inferno. Evil Geniuses did win Nuke 16-9.

*Top Performers for Evil Geniuses vs Dignitas (3 Maps): Brehze +23 K-D Diff, 1.31 Rating, 91.4 ADR. oBo +14 K-D Diff, 1.26 Rating, 93.1 ADR.

*Top Performers for Dignitas vs Evil Geniuses (3 Maps): hallzerk +4 K-D Diff, 1.04 Rating, 69.8 ADR. f0rest +1 K-D Diff, 1.06 Rating, 76.2 ADR.

MAPS:

*The two first likely banned maps for this match should include Mirage for Dignitas and Dust2 for Evil Geniuses. I think we see Inferno for EG and Nuke for Dignitas.

*EG on Inferno (15 Maps): oBo 1.14 Rating, 0.74 KPR, 1.12 IMP, 83.2 ADR. Brehze 1.10, CeRq 1.10, Stanislaw 0.91. On Nuke (24 Maps): MICHU (2 Maps): 1.20 Rating, Brehze 1.17 Rating, 0.78 KPR, 1.17 IMP, 82.8 ADR. oBo 1.10, CeRq 1.06, Stanislaw 0.92.

*Dignitas on Nuke (16 Maps): f0rest 1.21 Rating, 0.78 KPR, 1.16 IMP, 82.9 ADR. Lekr0 1.18, hallzerk 1.13, HEAP 1.09, friberg 0.95. On Inferno (10 Maps): HEAP 1.10 Rating, 0.66 KPR, 1.09 IMP, 75.5 ADR. Lekr0 1.09, f0rest 0.97, hallzerk 0.97, friberg 0.95.

Analysis: Dignitas is only here because Heroic decided not to play this event after their huge win of the ESL Pro League. Evil Geniuses added MICHU to their roster with the departure of Tarik and I really like that move. MICHU is pretty solid, if you remember him from Envy. I think this is actually a great spot for EG, and I am not exactly sure how motivated Dignitas will be here knowing this is basically not a “true” quarter-final match. Either way, I am siding with EG here and I think they take the win 2-0 in this one.
