We’ve hit the double-digit mark in weeks played. Are your teams in the hunt or circling the drain? I’ve never seen more parity across all my leagues than this season so don’t give up and don’t rest on your laurels.

Brian Hill , RB ATL - This week’s hot waiver add. He handled all but one of the carries after Devonta Freeman left the game. That was in “protect the lead” mode so don’t expect 20 carries every week. With Ito Smith IL’d and Freeman expected to miss multiple weeks the load should be large for Hill, however. He’s a hard runner and has flashed talent in brief moments previously.

Kareem Hunt , RB CLE - Hunt hit the ground running and played a fairly large complement of 38 snaps (54%). He was on the field with Nick Chubb , who played 57 snaps, plenty. What remains to be seen is whether that is a regular part of the Browns gameplan or a one week wrinkle. That offense needs any spark it can get and both backs were effective with their touches (25-11 in favor of Chubb). Here’s hoping Hunt’s activation is actually a good thing for Chubb.

J.D. McKissic , RB DET - With Ty Johnson getting injured early it became McKissic’s backfield for most of the game outside of short-yardage situations. It wasn’t a banner day for him against the tough Bears defense in Soldier Field. Still, should Johnson miss time McKissic seems to be the preferred option with Perkins working in for more traditional rushing downs.

Alvin Kamara , RB NO - The good news is that the Saints went to Kamara when they needed to trailing in the second half. The bad news is that the offense, and the offensive line in particular, were rather garbage like. Let’s chalk it up to a trap game against a division rival they expected to roll over. Visiting Tampa this week is a great litmus test for the state of the Saints run game. Kamara should still have a solid floor with his passing game role.

Jaylen Samuels , RB PIT - There are no illusions to Samuels being a great downhill runner at this point. He was stymied for 29 yards on 14 carries and only caught three passes. He’s operating on the wrong side of backfield split. Things should improve when some thunder returns for him to play lightning in either James Conner or Benny Snell

Chris Carson , RB SEA - It’s never been more clear that team confidence in Carson is unwavering despite some fumbles. He played 71 of 74 backfield snaps in a back and forth division clash on MNF. As long as the big man is getting volume his ground and pound style works. It possible the team was happier to lean on him knowing they would have a bye this week. Unless they fall well behind, we know what Seattle wants to do.

Ronald Jones , RB TB - Chalk RoJo amazingly worked out last weekend. He maintained the upper hand of the three-way snaps split (40-22-22) even in a shootout with the fast-paced Cardinals. Against teams that don’t push the pace, it may not be so sunny but the Bucs invite that style with their pass funnel defense to begin with. The real Gravy for RoJo came in the passing game on a season-high eight catches for 77 yards. They have plenty of matchups that will be lined as shootouts the rest of the way. It will be interesting to see where Jones ends the season.

Derrick Henry , RB TEN - Henry was back in his normal role and cashing goal-line carries into touchdowns like usual. The fact that they were trailing and he stayed involved this week is reassuring after last week’s blip. The big fella gets fed and wears tacklers down week in and week out.

Josh Jacobs , RB OAK - It’s possible the grind of an NFL season is wearing on the rookie. This happens to most first year players. His efficiency hasn’t dipped but the team has been restricting his snaps more and more (30 this past week). As long as Jacobs gets 15-20 carries and a handful of targets he’ll be fine. You wouldn’t say that in most offenses but Jon Gruden creates a unique situation.

Le’Veon Bell, RB NYJ - It’s hard to say whether concerns over Bells knee are overblown. On one hand, he play 74% of the teams snaps. That’s high for almost anyone. Anyone except Bell, who has played in the 80’s and 90’s the entire year. He still got his touches, though. Maybe Adam Gase is actually trying to preserve his best weapon. If they get ahead of Washington this weekend it will be telling how much Bilal Powell rotates in.
