DeMar DeRozan and the Spurs take on the Suns and Devin Booker in a late-night showdown!

CPT/MVP

1.)Devin Booker PHO ($16,500)

This is an interesting match-up as while there are some good players, Booker is the only option with true star power and upside. It’s also not surprising that he would be the most expensive option. Despite some off shooting nights and struggles with his shot this season, Booker is still averaging 25.7 points per game this season and he has broken the 50-fantasy point barrier three times in his last 10 games. Based on the price, Booker is more of a GPP play in the captain spot as there that risk involved depending on whether his shot is falling or not (he was four of 16 from the field two games ago).

2.)Dejounte Murray SA ($13,800)

Murray has the ball in his hands a lot for the Spurs and it is expected that they will be playing from behind tonight in a fast-paced and high scoring game. I’m not banking on a repeat of his last game when he put up a triple-double (13 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists) but it’s nice to that he is capable of it. Over his last five games, Murray has taken between 13 and 17 shots from the field so the scoring upside certainly is there, he just doesn’t consistently make enough of those shots. However, he does enough to average about 36 DK points a game.

3.)Deandre Ayton PHO ($13,500)

Ayton is a walking double-double, but over his last 10 games he has kicked his offense up a notch while still maintaining double digit rebounds. He is coming off a 26-point performance in his last game against Sacramento and Ayton has surpassed his season average of 15.2 points per game in six of his last seven games with 14 points being his low mark.

MID-TIER

1.) DeMar DeRozan SA ($10,000)

If this were a few years, we wouldn’t be considering this the mid-tier, but here we are. From a DFS perspective, the Suns are the toughest in the league against opposing shooting guards, and while DeRozan is still a very good player, I’m not sure I would truly consider him to be matchup proof. With that being said, he is currently on a hot streak so far this month, but it’s interesting that in his last four games DeRozan has taken either 11 or 25 shots. What catches my attention more so from a DFS perspective is that fact that he has double-digit assists in three of his last five games.

2.) Chris Paul PHO ($10,200)

The double-digit point spread does concern me some here if the Suns use it as an opportunity to keep Paul’s minutes in check. For the most park, Paul is no longer a high-volume shooter and generally doesn’t get much over about 10 shots a game so that limits his offensive upside on most nights although he can still flash that 30-point upside on occasion. San Antonio does struggle against opposing point guards and you can pretty much mark Paul down for 10 assists before the game even starts.

3.) Mikal Bridges PHO ($7,200)

Bridges is an interesting player. He starts for the Suns and plays upwards of 30 minutes a game so playing time and role is not an issue. Bridges is a force on the defensive end and fills the stat sheet so there is a solid floor, but his offensive game (or lack thereof in some cases) can be concerning. The forward followed up games of 20 and 15 points by scoring a combined six points in his next two games while bouncing back to 13 points on Thursday. Even when Bridges scored six points, he still put up 23.25 DK points, and I would consider that to be the exception not the rule.

DART THROWS

1.) Dario Saric PHO ($2,200)

Saric’s minutes have dipped below 20 as of late, closer to 15 on average, but it hasn’t necessarily impacted his DFS production. He is efficient in his time on the court and there is predictability in his performance as he usually comes close to the 9.7 points and 4.2 rebounds he is averaging on the season.

2.) Cameron Johnson PHO ($3,200)

If tonight does end up being a blowout, it could be the perfect opportunity for Johnson to step up. As it is he generally plays at least 20 minutes a night and Johnson has shown the ability to score off the bench.

3.) Lonnie Walker IV SA ($3,400)

After returning to action from a wrist injury, Walker has settled into playing about 20 minutes a night off the bench for the Spurs. His value is mostly dependent upon how his shot is falling, but if the Spurs are trailing, Walker could find himself in a high volume situation and if he gets hot from downtown, there will be some fantasy value.
