MMA DFS Playbook: UFC Fight Night 141

We are back to the great country of China for some exciting night of fights. China is really starting to put out some amazing talent in MMA and they will showcase some of their talent tonight. We have a couple heavy hitting veterans in our co-main and main event tonight. The co-main event is Allistair Overeem vs newcomer Sergey Pavlovich. In the main event we have a rematch with Curtis Blaydes vs Francis Ngannou it what will surely be a hard-hitting fight. All fights tonight or this morning will be on UFC Fight pass.

PRELIMS FIGHT PASS 

Louis Smoke 13-5 vs Su Mudaerji 8-1

Louis has five KO/TKO, five submissions and three decision wins. He has won his last three fights in a row. He has a brown belt in judo and has a background in Kenpo and boxing. He has one Performance of the Night, and one Fight of the Night bonus.

Su has seven KO/TKO and one submission. He has five 1^st round wins. This is his UFC Debut. He has heavy and fast hands. Has a background in Muay Thai.

Exciting first fight of the night. Louis has the advantage of being in the UFC already so no nerves there. He will need to take the fight to the ground and avoid the dangerous striking game of Su. He also must control the pace of the fight. Su will look to get into a clinch and work some elbows and knees. He will look to press the action and keep Louis on the run. In the end I see Louis with a win.

Kevin Holland 12-4 vs John Phillips 21-7

Kevin has six KO/TKO, five submissions, and one decision win. He is 4-1 in his last five fights. He has seven 1^st round wins.  He is very well rounded and dangerous from his feet and on the ground.

John has eighteen KO/TKO, and three submissions. He has seventeen 1^st round wins. He has heavy hands. He likes to push the pace and finish quickly.

Good match up. Kevin will need to take the fight to the ground and stay on top. John has tremendous KO power from anywhere. Kevin will need to be a counter puncher and not try and brawl with John. John will look to push the pace and finish the fight quickly. He needs to avoid any takedowns and keep the fight on his feet. In the end I see John with another KO.

Xiaonan Yan 9-1-1 vs Syuri Kondo 6-1

Xiaonan has five KO/TKO and four decision wins. She is 7-0-1 in her last eight fights. She has five 1^st round wins. Has a boxing background. Very technical striker.

Syuri has one KO/TKO, and five decisions. She has one 1^st round win. She is the former Pancrase Women’s Strawweight Champ. She has a kickboxing background.

Solid fight. Xia will look to use her boxing and be very technical on her feet and pick her opponent apart. She needs to watch for any type of leg kicks. Syuri needs to utilize her kickboxing and set up combinations with her hands and feet. She will also need to push the pace. In the end Xiaonan will be out on top.

Pingyuan Liu 12-5 vs Martin Day 8-2

Ping has four KO/TKO five submissions, and three decision wins. He has seven 1^st round wins and has an eight-fight win streak going. Well-rounded grappler and striker.

Martin has three KO/TKO, two submissions, and three decision wins. He is 4-1 in his last five fights. He has three wins in a row and has three 1^st round wins. He is also well rounded.

Should be a good back forth action. Ping will mix it up and try and keep the fight on the ground. Martin will need to push the pace and be a counter puncher and wait for timing to get a takedown. In the end I see Ping out on top with another impressive KO.

Weili Zhang 17-1 vs Jessica Aguilar 20-6

Weili has none KO/TKO, six submissions and two decision wins. She has nine 1^st round wins. She is on an impressive seventeen fight win streak. She loves to strike. She has a kickboxing and Muay Thai background but is not afraid to do some ground work.

Jessica has two KO/TKO, eight submissions, and ten decision wins. She is 11-2 in her last thirteen fights. She has six 1^st round wins. She holds a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu. She has wins over Angela Magana (twice), and Carla Esparaza.

Going to be an exciting fight. Weili is one of the next great female fighters. She is very impressive and dominates her opponents. She will look once again to do the same. She will use her strikes to soften up her opponent and then take her down and start some ground and pound. Jessica needs to be a counter puncher. She needs to control the fight and the octagon. In the end I see that Weili will be no match for Jessica and will win by KO.

Hu Yaozong 3-1 vs Rashad Coulter 8-4

Hu has two KO/TKO, and one submission win. He has one 1^st round win. He is coking off his first lose. He is a striker.

Rashad has eight KO/TKO. He has six 1^st round wins. He is coming into this fight with three losses in a row.

Going to be an exciting fight between two strikers. Hu will need to push the pace and work some combinations. Rashad needs to remain calm and not let his losing streak effect his performance. He needs to control the tempo of the fight. In the end I see Rashad with the win via judge’s decision.

Yanan Wu 9-2 vs Lauren Mueller 5-0

Yanan has six KO/TKO, one submission and two decision wins. She is 3-2 in her last five. She has five 1^st round wins. She has a Muay Thai background.

Lauren has one KO/TKO and four decision wins. She does have one 1^st round win. She has great cardio and can last all three rounds and then some. She is well rounded but prefers to stand.

Decent matchup. Yanan needs to setup up her strikes and then take the fight to the ground and start using some ground and pound action. She needs to push the pace fast and try and wear down Lauren. Lauren needs to be aggressive and go after Yanan. She needs to settle in a good rhythm and start to strike and go for some combinations. In the end I see the fight going the distance and Yanan with the win.

Kenan Song 13-3 vs Alex Moreno 14-6

Kenan has six KO/TKO, six submissions, and one decision win. He is 7-1 in his last eight fights. He has nine 1^st round wins. He is a well-rounded fighter.

Alex has four KO/TKO, six submissions, and three decision wins. He has nine 1^st round wins. He holds a black belt in Jiu Jitsu and taekwondo. He has wins over Josh Burkman and Kyle Noke.

An exciting way to end the prelims. Kenan will look to be a counter puncher and picks his shots very strategically. He needs to watch the ground game of Alex. Alex will look to setup some type of clinch work and take the fight to the ground. He will start to throw some strikes to force Kenan to make a mistake and he will look to capitalize on it with a submission. In the end I see Alex with another win.

MAIN EVENT FIGHT PASS 

Li Jingliang 15-5 vs David Zawada 16-4

Li has five KO/TKO, five submissions and five decisions. He is 5-1 in his last six fights. He has six 1^st round wins. He holds a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu. He has wins over Dhiego Lima and Zak Ottow. He has two Fight of the Night, and one Performance of the Night bonuses.

David has eleven KO/TKO, three submissions and two decision wins. He as well is 5-1 in his last six but is coming off a loss. He has nine 1^st round wins. He has very technical striking.

Nice even match up. Li has a more well-rounded game, but David is just as dangerous. Li will need to get the fight to the ground and use his Jiu Jitsu and out work his opponent. David needs to settle in and look for some combinations to try and get the knockout. In the end I see Li out on top.

Song Yadong 12-3 vs Vince Morales 8-2

Song has four KO/TKO, three submissions, and five decisions. He is 6-1 in his last seven fights. He has five 1^st round wins. He has boxing and a Jiu Jitsu background. He has one Performance of the night bonus.

Vince has five KO/TKO, two submissions, and one decision win. He is also 6-1 in his last seven fights. He has four 1^st round wins. This is his UFC debut.

Song has two things going for him, one being already fought in the UFC, and two being fighting in his home country. He is very well rounded, and he will mix it up both standing and on the ground. He will look to keep most of the fight on the ground and do some ground and pound. Vince will need to settle down and not let the excitement of being in the octagon phase him. Vince needs to time his strikes and stay away from the ground work of Song. In the end Song wins via judges’ decision.

CO-MAIN EVENT

Allistair Overeem 43-17 vs Sergey Pavlovich 12-0

Allistair has twenty-one KO/TKO, seventeen submissions, and five decision wins. He is 2-3 in his last five fights. He has an impressive thirty-one 1^st round wins. He is a former Strikeforce and K-1 World Champion which he held both titles at the same time. He is a blue belt in Jiu Jitsu. He has wins over Vitor Belfort (twice) Mark Hunt (twice) Fabricio Werdum (twice) Brock Lesnar, Frank Mir, Roy Nelson, and Junior Dos Santos. He has tons of power.

Sergey has nine KO/TKO and three decision wins. He has nine 1^st round wins. He has a background in Greco-Roman wrestling and Sambo. This is his UFC Debut.

Allistair has the experience in the octagon, but he is getting up there in age. He has been knocked out in his last few fights. He will need to control the octagon as well as the tempo of the fight. His opponent is looking for a big win over a legend in the fight game. Allistair can work his ground game and work some ground and pound along with some submissions. Sergey will need to push the pace and wear down his older opponent. He needs to setup his strikes and look for that golden opportunity to land the one big shot. In the end I see Allistair back on top via decision.

MAIN EVENT

Curtis Blaydes 10-1 vs Francis Ngannou 11-3

Curtis has eight KO/TKO and two decision wins. He has two 1^st round wins. His lone loss is to his opponent back in 2016. He has wins over Allistair Overeem, Mark Hunt, and Alexey Oleynik. He wrestled in college. He has tons of power. He has two Performance of the night bonuses.

Francis has seven KO/TKO, and four submissions. He has seven 1^st round wins and is on a two-fight losing streak. He has wins over Overeem, Blaydes, Andrei Arlovski, and Anthony Hamilton. He has a boxing background. He has two Performance of the night bonuses.

This fight is going to be a slug fest. Curtis wants to avenge his lone loss. He will need to have precise and technical striking to do so. If he can take the fight to the ground, he needs to do some ground and pound. Francis will need to use his boxing to keep Curtis at bay. He will need be the aggressor and watch his timing as well. In the end I see this fight going all five rounds with Curtis getting the win.
