It was an interesting race at Dover as it wound up being run on Monday instead of Sunday due to rain all day in the mid-Atlantic region. When it was run on Monday there were a couple of big names that had to start in the back of the field in Martin Truex Jr. and Alex Bowman who both qualified well but failed pre-race inspection a couple of times and thus were dealt a penalty. It didn’t slow them down much though as they wound up finishing in the top two spots, the first time that two drivers starting in the rear finished 1-2 since 2014 at Talladega.
