Top Guards

Jared ButlerBUTT920033.92750030.92
Jared Butler may be the best all around guard in the country with his ability to impact the game in a variety of ways. Butler averages 17.1 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 5 apg and 2.2 spg. Because of this Butler is a great option in GPP contests with such a high floor. Butler has gone for over 30 fantasy points in 8 of his last 9 games. He did struggle against Texas Tech in the first matchup with 7 points, 3 assists and 5 rebounds but still ended up with 25 fantasy points in DK, look for him to have a better outing than that in this one.
Quentin GrimesHOUMEM850032.13840029.23
Quentin Grimes is a great option due to his scoring ability and good rebounding skills for a guard. Grimes is averaging 17.9 ppg and 6.1 rpg. He does draw a tough matchup in Memphis, the Tigers rank 2nd in KenPom's adjusted efficiency but that number seems fishy. Memphis really hasn't played teams with quality offenses. While its a red flag, it wont deter me from including Griems in a lineup.
Franz WagnerMICHMSU810029.94740028.22
Franz Wagner is a great play in GPP contests for his ability to stuff the stat sheet. Even though he only averages 13 ppg, Wagner also delivers with 6.3 rpg, 2.8 apg, 1 bpg, and 1.3 spg. As a guard/forward hybrid, Wagner is an uber efficient player, shooting 51.3% from the floor and 39.1% from three.
D'Mitrik TriceWISCIOWA750026.30680024.31
D'Mitrik Trice can get you buckets in a hurry. In a loss to Illinois last week, the Badgers found themselves down 13 with 2:12 left on the clock. Trice went nuts scoring 19 of his 24 points in the final 2:12. Wisconsin desperately needs his offense and draw]ing Jordan Bohannon, think he can have a big game. In the first game against Iowa he had a nice outing with 11 points, 9 assists and 3 rebounds.

Mac McClungTTBU680025.62630023.69
Mac McClung had a great outing in his first outing versus Baylor, scoring 24 points despite facing the 25th ranked defense according to KenPom. The reason being is Baylor tries to play an up tempo game, which really suits McClung's game. He is a bit scoring dependent only averaging 2.6 rpg and 2.4 apg but thats why he's a cheaper option.
Ricky ClemonsCAMPWIN610015.2550021.64
Showing some love for the mid-majors and Jerome players by including Ricky Clemons as a value play. Campbell's Ricky Clemons is the brother of the dimunitive scoring machine Chris Clemons. Ricky is a bit tallet at 6-2 and while he is only 6.6 ppg he put on a show in Big South semi-final. Clemons scored 19 points on 9/10 shooting and added 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Think he can present some value in this slate and probably won't be highly owned.
Santiago VescoviTENNUF380020.11480018.03
Tennessee is a bit of an enigma, they often find themselves lost on offense and don't really have a defined go-to player. Vescovi is a great value play because you know he'll be on the floor averaging 28.8 mpg. In the first game against Florida he had 7 points, 1 assist and 3 rebounds, not great but with such a cheap pricetag he is worth a look.

Luka GarzaIOWAWISC1000041.74900039.24
Anytime Iowa is on the slate you debate wheteher or not you could budget Luka Garza into your lineup. He is a fantasy point machine but comes at a hefty price. In his last 15 games Garza has put up at least 30 fantasy points 13 times. He is such a consistent performer and presents the opportunity to explode on any given night. If you can find a way, get him in the lineup!
Aaron HenryMSUMICH860031.93810029.79
It doesn't seem fair that Aaron Henry has to draw the 4th rated defense according to KenPom in two straight games. But that is the reality when a COVID season has the Spartans drawing Michigan twice to end the season. In the first game earlier this week Henry scored 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. He still finished with 25.8 fantasy points in DK and with the Spartans needing a W, expect Henry to have a better game this time out.
DeAndre WilliamsMEMHOU820028.30740025.98
Memphis' DeAndre Williams draws a great matchup against an undersized Houston Cougars team and the way Williams has played of late he should be in for a monster day. Williams has gone north of 35 fantasy points in back-to-back games, posting double-doubles in each game.
Mervin JamesNORTALIB740031.60
Mervin James is a great alternative to the higher priced forwards, due to his production and the fact he probably won't be highly owned. James is averaging 14 ppg and 7.2 rpg. North Alabama is a big underdog in the ASUN title game vs Liberty but that presents an opportunity for fantasy owners. There could be plenty of garbage time for James to get his. He had a solid outing in two games vs Liberty averaging 10 ppg and 7 rpg.
Hunter DickinsonMICHMSU700028.32750026.55
Hunter Dickinson probably is the best value amongst the higher priced forwards, especially in DK. Dickinson is averaging 14.4 ppg and 7.8 rpg for the Wolverines and had a 14 point, 10 rebound double-double in the last game vs the Spartans.

Lat MayenNEBNW630017.70
Lat Mayen has reaped the benefits of Teddy Allen deciding to leave the Nebraska program. In the two games since Allen's departure Mayen has gone off. He had 34.8 fantasy points in both games with a 14 point, 13 rebound performance vs Iowa and a 25 point, 5 rebound night vs Rutgers. Think he's a great play for cash games.
Fabian White Jr.HOUMEM590015.94500
Fabian White Jr. is returning from a torn ACL he suffered last season and will be making his 5th apperance for the Cougars. Since returning 2/18 White is averaging 7 ppg and 3.5 rpg, however we must point out he only logged 8 minutes in his first game back. In games where he has played 18+ minutes he has posted 20+ fantasy points. With a week since their last game think White plays a good deal in this one and has great value.
Joey HauserMSUMICH530020.78530018.60
Joey Hauser really hasn't been the player expected or the one the Spartans saw in the beginning of the season since transferring from Marquette. However his pricetag and what he showed early on intrigues me as a value play. He averages around 20 fantasy points per game and is only $5300. He is worthy of a play in a cash game to afford other higher priced forwards.
Blake PrestonLIBNORTA490020.28
Blake Preston is a bit of a dart throw but he can provide production on a cheap pricetag. Preston is averaging 8.9 ppg and 6.3 rpg and has stepped his game up in the ASUN Tournament. In Liberty's two games in the ASUN Tournament, Preston is averaging 10.5 ppg and 7.5 rpg.

Other Forwards to Consider

  • Cedric Henderson Jr.- Campbell- $6900 DK
  • Colin Castleton- Florida- $6400 DK / $6400 FD
  • Justin Gorham- Houston- $6100 DK / $6200 FD
  • John Fulkerson- Tennessee- $4700 DK / $5300 FD
  • Tyler Wahl- Wisconsin- $4400 DK / $4300 FD
