Top Guards

Ron Harper Jr.RUIU800032.67
Oh how Rutgers has fallen, seemed destined to make the NCAAs for the first time since 1991 in mid-December only to lose 5 straight games. Ron Harper Jr. hasn't been himself since returning from an ankle injury but in a must win situation expect the Scarlet Knight to shine. Harper has only had one game below 20 fantasy points, expect a big game from Rutgers star. If you dont want to pay the high pricetag look at Jacob Young ($7100, 27.6 FPPG) as a paydown option.
Isaiah WongMIAND760031.46
Isaiah Wong has been a revelation for the Hurricanes, as the sophomore guard went from rotational player to one of the best in the ACC. Wong is averaging 17.5 ppg, 5.8 rpg and 2.1 apg for Miami. He has a size advantage against oppsosing guard Prentiss Hubb and expect him to exploit that. What makes Wong a nice play is that even if he doesnt score a ton of points, he can still be relied on with rebounds and assists.
Prentiss HubbNDMIA680027.02
What makes Prentiss Hubb such an attractive fantasy option is his ability to impact the game in both scoring and assists. While being able to score 13.7 ppg Hubb makes sure to get his teammates involved in the action. In the last 5 games Hubb has registered 32 assists. His all around game make him a nice play in this slate.
Armaan FranklinIURU660024,4
Since returning from an ankle injury Armaan Franklin has not appeares to show any rust. In his last two games Franklin was able to post 29.8 and 23.5 fantasy points. What makes him an intruiging play against Rutgers is that they don't have the personell at his position to match his length and athleticism.

Earl TimberlakeMIAND600022.25
Earl Timberlake got a late start to his college experinence due to an ankle injury. Since returning to the court he has been a nice boost for the Hurricanes. The freshman is averaging 9.3 ppg, 5 rpg and 2. apg. At 6-6 and 215 lbs, there is no fighting Irish guard that will be able to match his physicality. Timberlake could be in for a good night against the Irish and could be a nice value play,
Alex LomaxMEMECU510017.64
The Memphis Tigers have been poor offensively all season long until their last game against Wichita St. Alex Lomax was a big reason why with a stat line of 12/4/6 against the Shockers. In the game Lomax logged 25 minutes for the Tigers, up from his average of 21.5 mpg. Expect Penny to ride the hot hand in this one against ECU and Lomax can be a great play.
Kameron McGustyMIAND410016.54
Kameron McGusty transferred over to the U after playing two seasons at Oklahoma. In his first season with the Canes, McGusty was a solid contributor averaging 12.5 ppg and 4 rpg.. McGusty got off to a solid start to his senior year but an injury at the beginning of January caused him to miss time.Upon his first game back McGusty only had 9 points but this could be a spot where he finally breaks out,

Other Guards to Consider

  • Quade Green- Washington- $7300
  • Joseph Young- Rutgers- $7100
  • Rob Phinisee- Indiana- $5800
  • Landers Nolley II- Memphis- $5600

Trayce Jackson-DavisIURU920037.87
While the pricetag is high Trayce Jackson-Davis has been a fantasy monster for the Hoosiers this year. In his last 11 games TJD has failed to eclipse 20 points scoring 3 times. His high price could scare people off in GPP contests but he has such a high floor. Rutgers really doesnt seem to have any big men that can slow him down and he will probably be worth the investment. If you arrent willing to pay the high price on a player, Race Thompson ($6700, 24.2 FPPG) would be a nice paydown option.
Timmy AllenUTAHUW850031
Timmy Allen is having a bit of a down season from his sophomore year but he is truly a fantasy mainstay, Allen really fills up the stat line with a slash lne of 16.9/5.8 /3.3. Against a really bad Washington Husku team. expect Allen to have a monster night.
Nate LaszewskiNDMIA830028.92
Nate Laszewski is having a great junior campaign as a stretch 5 for the Fighting Irish, Nate is averaging 16.7 ppg and 7.7 tpg while shooting 55.3% from the three point lijne. Laszewski should be able to exploit a Miami team that doesnt have many versitile frontcourt players.
Jayden GardnerECUMEM750027.9
ECU's Jayden Gardner has emerged as one of the top players in the American Athletic Conference this season. Gardner is averaging 16.3 ppg and 7.8 rpg for the Pirates and loves that home cooking. Gardner has more impressive numbers in his own gym by bumping his averages to 18.1 ppg and 8.6 rpg. He has a bit of a tough matchup against the frontcourt of Memphis but expect ECU to give him plenty of touches in this one.
DeAndre WilliamsMEMECU710026.7
Since making his debut for the Tigers on 12/16 DeAndre Williams has been a great player for Memphis. Williams has shown his ability as a low post player, as well am ability to get teammates involved with 3.3 apg. Wiliams was having a nice game against Wichita St (20.8 fantasy points) before leaving the game after taking a shot to the face inadvertanly by teammate Moussa Cissee. That shouldn't impact him in this one and expecting him to fill it up on the stat sheet.

Juwan DurhamNDMIA610020.96
Juwan Durham presents value at $6100, as he is coming off a nice game for the Fighting Irish. Against Boston College, the senior big man posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Durham has been in and out of the starting lineup this year but he is still averaging 24.4 mpg. He is a nice play considering his productivity is enough to set a solid floor.
Bitumba BarutiECUMEM550021.6
Bitumba Baruti's numbers don't blow you away but there is enough productivity to make him fantasy relevant. Baruti is averaging 8.7 ppg and 5.8 rpg for the ECU Pirates. Baruti has grabbed 26 rebounds in his last four games and against a Memphis team that for the most part has been poor offensively look for him to get a handul of boards in this one.
Moussa CisseMEMECU510020.92
Despite being a 5-star recruit Moussa Cisse is off to a bit of a slow start for the Memphis Tigers. The big man from Guinea is averaging 6.8 ppg and 7.5 rpg but that is a bit underwhelming from one of the nation's top prospects. Coming to America at age 14, CIsse is still a bit raw but posses elite basketball size and athleticism. At 6-10 260 he is going to be a matchup nightmare against a small ECU frontcourt.
Montez MathisRUIU500022.02
During Rutgers 5-game losing streak Montez Mathis has only scored 33 points, a far cry from his 12.2 ppg average. This recent slump has caused him to go from a $6000 pricetage to $5000. In a must win against IU expect him to breakout of this slump and provide great value for a cheap price.

Other Forwards to Consider

  • Race Thompson- Indiana- $6700
  • Branden Carlson- Utah- $5400
  • Brandon Suggs- ECU- $5300
