Colorado Rockies vs Mike Leake

You can probably consider this to be a general Coors Field game stack if you wish but Rockies starter Tyler Anderson is really throwing well right now so I don’t think I will be using the Mariners today.  Instead give me all the Rockies against Mike Leake .  Over his last three starts, Leake has allowed 10 earned runs on 26 hits over 15 innings.

Both left-handed hitters and right-handed hitters have found success against Leake this year so there is no need to target a specific split against him in this matchup.  For me personally I will be locking in on Carlos González who loves to hit at home against right-handed pitching this season, owning a .370 average with six home runs and an OPS of 1.137 over 80 plate appearances this season. Charlie Blackmon is another obvious choice here but he is one of the more expensive players on the slate.

If looking at BvP for this matchup we have Nolan Arenado who is 3-for-8 with two home runs off Leake, Ian Desmond is 9-for-26 (.346) with two doubles and four RBI and Gerardo Parra is 8-for-22 with a double, home run and three RBI.  Oh yeah, and the Rockies are projected to score the most runs on today’s slate with an implied Vegas run total of 6.2.

Cleveland Indians vs Masahiro Tanaka

The Indians are projected to score the 6th most runs on today’s slate and just .04 projected runs from cracking the top five so I will consider them a top five stack today for the sake of this article.  The Indians offense boasts two of the leagues top home run hitters in José Ramírez (29) and Francisco Lindor (25). The lineup also includes a healthy Michael Brantley who is hitting .308 with 11 home runs and an OPS of .838 on the season to really give that offense a threatening top half.

With Edwin Encarnación continuing to hit home runs and Jason Kipnis starting to hit his stride the lineup can and has won GPP slates. This lineup faces Tanaka today who allowed three runs on six hits over 4.1 innings in his return from the DL against the O’s earlier this week. On the season he is still giving up a ton of home run, having allowed 17 over 14 appearances. The players I mentioned above all have real solid BvP numbers against Tanaka as well which is worth checking out over on the Fantasy Alarm BvP page.

Contrarian Stack

Washington Nationals vs Corey Oswalt

Oswalt has not fared too well in his four appearances (three starts) this season, having allowed 13 runs on 14 hits over 17.1 innings while allowing four home runs over that span. The Nationals offense ranks 12th in home runs off right-handed pitching this season and they have plenty of guys in their lineup that can do the damage from Bryce Harper , Anthony Rendón , Juan Soto and Matt Adams who should all be considered as part of your lineup stacks today. Daniel Murphy and Adam Eaton are also solid pivots from that group given their upsides as well. Vegas also has the Nationals projected for the fourth highest implied team run total today at just under five runs scored.
