Chalk Stack

 Chicago Cubs vs Colorado Rockies

The game is being played in Coors so of course it is going to be a chalky play.  The Rockies are sending lefty Tyler Anderson to the mound so Cubs players Kris Bryant , Javier Báez , Albert Almora Jr., Willson Contreras and Addison Russell are all in play.  For the Rockies, they will be up against Yu Darvish who has struggled as a member of the Cubs and those stacking against him should look at Charlie Blackmon , Nolan Arenado , DJ LeMahieu , Ian Desmond and Gerardo Parra .

Boston Red Sox vs Sean Manaea

Listen, I actually like Manaea but how can you ignore what the Red Sox are doing right now?  Over the last seven days Boston leads baseball with 47 runs, 15 home runs, 45 RBI, .353 average and an OPS of 1.036.  All of that production in just a six-game span.  In the early going the Red Sox have not exactly hammered southpaws but historically the likes of Mookie Betts , Hanley Ramírez and J.D. Martínez have had little trouble against southpaws.

Milwaukee Brewers vs Jose Urena

Urena is one of the worst starting pitchers in baseball which makes stacking against him a must most nights.  The Brewers lineup has a plenty of power bats that can get to him and I am fine with playing anybody in the top six of their lineup but I will especially focus  on the left-handed bats of Christian Yelich , Eric Thames and Travis Shaw as left-handed bats are hitting .302 with an OPS of .873 against Urena this season while righties have somehow been held to just a .263 average and an OPS of .712. Even with those splits Lorenzo Cain and Ryan Braun are very much in play today.

Contrarian Stack

New York Mets vs Julio Teherán

Teheran has pitched much better recently, allowing just three earned runs over his last two starts while striking out 16.  While the strikeouts and limited runs allowed were solid he still walked seven batters over those 12 innings while giving up 10 hits which makes me believe he would have been in a lot more trouble if not for the K’s.  He will face a lefty heavy lineup on Saturday when he toes the rubber against the Mets.  Over the last three seasons left-handed hitters have an OPS of .815 against Teheran and this year in a limited sample size they are 7-for-28 (.250) with three home runs and an OPS of .971.  Teheran also HATES pitching in his new home ballpark as he has allowed 10 runs on 15 hits over three starts at home this season and last year he was 3-10 with a 5.86 ERA.  Michael Conforto , Asdrubal Cabrera , Jay Bruce and Adrián González are the lefties to use with Yoenis Céspedes and Todd Frazier also worth including in any three-man stacks.

Los Angeles Angels vs Derek Holland

I will make a bold statement and say that Derek Holland ’s ability to impersonate Kermit the Frog is better than his ability to be a quality major league starter. For that reason we should all LOVE the Angels tonight as their right-handed heavy lineup should get to Holland early and often.  Holland has a 5.59 road ERA in two starts this season and last year right-handed batters hit .305 with an OPS of .974 off of him.  All Angel stacks start with Mike Trout and should also have Ian Kinsler , Justin Upton , Zack Cosart and Albert Pujols in them as well.  For cheaper exposure to the Angels you should look at Chris Young , Jefry Marte , Andrelton Simmons and either Angels catcher whether it be Martin Maldonado or René Rivera .
