It’s the final day of the regular season so teams are putting out some funky lineups and the playoff teams that have their starters in the lineup could very well pull them in the middle of the game which makes game stacks on a day like today very risky. With that said these are the stacks that look the safest to play today.
Oakland A’s vs Cole Hamels
Marcus Semien, Matt Chapman, Khris Davis, Ryon Healy, Mark Canha
Hamels has been solid this season but the A’s have some powerful right-handed hitters that fare well against southpaws. This is also a positive ballpark shift for the Oakland hitters. Hamels faced the A’s back on August 26th and was shelled for six runs on nine hits over 4.1 innings.
Miami Marlins vs Max Fried
Giancarlo Stanton, Marcell Ozuna, Justin Bour, J.T. Realmuto, Christian Yelich, Dee Gordon
The Marlins are sending out an interesting lineup on the final day of the season with everybody bumping up a spot meaning Stanton is hitting leadoff and Dee Gordon is hitting 9th. Of course this is an effort to maximize the at bats for Stanton who is sitting on 59 home runs. The Braves are sending southpaw Max Fried to the mound who will be looking to avoid giving up that 60th blast but in all likelihood we will be seeing Stanton reach that historic milestone today.
Washington Nationals vs Steven Brault
Trea Turner, Bryce Harper, Anthony Rendon, Daniel Murphy, Jayson Werth, Ryan Zimmerman
This is one of those scary stacks that I had mentioned earlier as the Nationals are sending out their entire starting roster to at least start the game but we could see the starters pulled after a few innings of work. This will likely cause lower ownership on these guys and if they are able to put a some runs on the board early it might be worth the risk.
