Cincinnati Reds vs Jameson Taillon

Joey Votto, Scott Schebler, Billy Hamilton, Scooter Gennett

Taillon has had his problems of late, including a start against the Reds who tagged him for eight earned runs on 11 hits over 3.2 innings.  This time around Taillon will be on the road, pitching in the Great American Ballpark which is one of the league’s best hitter’s parks.  Lefties are hitting .313 with an OPS of .832 which bodes well for some of the Reds top hitters who should be targeted here.

Chicago Cubs vs Nick Pivetta

Ben Zobrist, Kyle Schwarber, Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant,

Pivetta has struggled this season going 4-9 with a 6.73 ERA anda 1.54 WHIP and over the last three outings he hasn’t been much better allowing 14 earned runs over his last 11 innings pitched. This is the first time Pivetta will have faced the defending champs in his career but it doesn’t figure to go well seeing how he has performed this season.  Righties have hit Pivetta much better than left-handed hitters this season but I wouldn’t shy away from anybody in the top half of the Cubs lineup today.

Baltimore Orioles vs Doug Fister

Adam Jones, Manny Machado, Jonathan Schoop, Chris Davis, Tim Beckham, Mark Trumbo, Trey Mancini

Fister is coming off a historic start in his last outing in which he allowed a leadoff solo home run and then went on to throw a no-hitter.  While that start was great and he has had a few solid starts overall this season is he 3-6 with a 4.79 ERA.  The Orioles offense has put a hurt on the Red Sox starters this weekend and that trend figures to continue on Sunday.
