Milwaukee Brewers

Milwaukee is starting to hit the ball well, posting 12 runs last night mainly led by Lorenzo Cain . Unfortunately they face a right-handed pitcher tonight, meaning the cheaper lefty specialists won’t be in the lineup. However, this boosts the value of Eric Thames and Travis Shaw who are significantly better against right handed pitchers. We don’t exactly have a ton of information on Trevor Richards being his sample size is so small, but he is $4,700 on DK making him one of the cheapest pitchers on the slate. The Brewers are favorited to score over five runs, which puts them toward the top with the Yankees, but for a much cheaper price tag.

St. Louis Cardinals

St. Louis is another team with an implied run total over five. They should be the lowest owned of all of the  "five and over" implied run teams out there, so they are my GPP favorite. You will also be able to use Michael Wacha against Brandon Finnegan who back in 2016 allowed a .334 wOBA to right handed bats. On the other hand pay close attention to Jose Martinez in this game. Against left handed pitchers last year Jose Martinez was a top-three DFS player in points per at bat between Nolan Arenado and Giancarlo Stanton . He is only $3,700 on DraftKings tonight.

New York Yankees

If there is one starting pitcher who can get Stanton jump started it’s Marco Estrada . Estrada has had the highest fly ball rate in the major leagues over the past two years. That combined with the Yankees ability to hit deep fly balls spells trouble. Obviously you are going to have to pick and choose which Yankees you want to use. Gary Sánchez , Giancarlo Stanton , Aaron Judge , and now Didi Gregorius are all too expensive to stack together so the Yankees being played as part of a small or large GPP basically hinges on whether or not you want to use Stanton. He will be lower owned than he should be, but obviously has amazing upside. Judge and Sanchez would be your safer smaller GPP plays.

Houston Astros

Houston is drawing arguably the worst pitcher in the MLB – James Shields . Shields owned a .388 wOBA to left handed hitters last year and a .309 to righties. The year before he was .370 to lefties and .384 to righties. The Astros have nine hitters that are capable of multi-home run games against Shields so this might be more of a cash game play due to ownership. Josh Reddick should be used here along with George Springer .
