Kansas City Chiefs vs. New England Patriots

Total: 59.5

Patriots -3.5

Gameplay Predictions

  • Patrick Mahomes ranks 12th in passing yards this season while Tom Brady ranks 19th.

  • Kareem Hunt has scored four touchdowns in the last three weeks. New England has only allowed one rushing touchdown this season.

  • Nobody in the NFL has allowed more passing yards than the Chiefs at 1,802.

  • New England is tied for the fifth most passing touchdowns allowed at 11 this season.

  • Sony Michel has 98 rushing yards or more in back-to-back games and has scored a touchdown in both.

  • James White has caught a receiving touchdown in four of his five games this season. White also has caught at least seven passes in three of his last four contests.

  • Rob Gronkowski is currently the Pats leading receiver with 308 yards. White is second with 270.

  • The Chiefs have two players with 400 yards receiving on the year; Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce .

  • Hill has nine catches for over 20 yards already this season. He also happens to have one run for over 20 yards and has a 91 yard punt return touchdown.

Pregame Props

1) The last non-kneeling, offense play of the 1st Quarter is a passing play (we’ll leave this open until the 2:00 mark) YES 2.6 / NO 2.4

Mahomes has been forced to throw much more recently as he’s thrown the ball at least 35 times in three straight games while Brady has been able to turn around and hand it off to a reliable running back. Depending who has the ball will determine it. I’m going with New England having the ball, so NO.

2) Either team scores 2 or more TD’s in the 1st Quarter YES 5 / NO 1.5

YES. Given that this over/under currently sits at 59.5, we have a good shot at this happening. We’d get a HUGE bonus and it is definitely something you could take a chance with.

3) S. Michel (NE) and K. Hunt (KC) combine to record 3 or more receptions in the 1st Quarter YES 2.2 / NO 3.2

Michel hasn’t caught more than one pass in a game this year, so he wouldn’t be the one carrying the weight in this one. Hunt himself only has five receptions on the year, so I’m going with NO here.

4) The first offensive play of the 1st Quarter gains 2 or fewer yards YES 3.3 / NO 2.3

NO. These are two high powered offenses we likely see drive the ball down the field early and often. Safer bet to go no here.

5) P. Mahomes (KC) passes for a 1st Down on the KC opening drive YES 2.0 / NO 3.1

YES. With the way he’s been slinging the ball all over the field and how efficiently he’s doing so, it’s hard to believe he won’t get at least one.

6) J. Gordon (NE) records 1 or more receptions on the NE opening drive YES 3.7 / NO 1.6

Gordon has only two receptions in both of his first two games with the Pats, but it’s hard to all of sudden say he’s going to be a focus of Tom Brady ’s. Going NO here.
