Gameplay predictions

  • The Eagles defense has allowed 1,462 yards through the air this season. That’s the eighth most in the NFL.

  • The Giants defense has allowed 1,185 yards through the air this season. That’s the 25th most in the NFL.

  • Eli Manning trails only Drew Brees and Jared Goff in completion percentage as he ranks third in the league at 71.7-percent.

  • Saquon Barkley is looking to extend his five game streak of 100-plus scrimmage yards. He currently ranks second all-time in that category and would move within one of Kareem Hunt (2017) for the record.

  • Odell Beckham Jr. has had nine plus targets in every game this season and has had double digits in four of the five this year.

  • Sterling Shepard has had at least seven targets and 75 yards in three consecutive games.

  • Carson Wentz has thrown the ball at least 35 times in all three games he’s played in. He’s gone for over 300 yards in two of the three.

  • As a starter in Week 3, Corey Clement rushed the ball 16 times for 53 yards while catching three passes for 19 yards.

  • Wendell Smallwood has caught at least three passes in three straight weeks and has scored a touchdown in two of the last three games.

  • Zach Ertz has 10-plus targets in all five games this season and has 10 receptions in back-to-back games. His rapport with Carson Wentz is unmatched.

  • Giants defense has allowed just 15 receptions to the TE position and hasn’t given up a touchdown.

  • Giants have the third FEWEST receiving yards to wide outs this year.

  • Alshon Jeffery has had eight and nine targets in his first two games off of the injured list. He caught eight passes in Week 4 but just two in Week 5.

Pregame Props

1. The last non-kneeling, offensive play of the 1st Quarter is a completed pass (we'll leave this open until the 2:00 mark) YES 2.5 / NO 2.5

NO. With the bad weather taking place in the tri-state area, it’s hard to believe Wentz and Manning will be airing the ball out for four quarters. I suspect a low scoring, ground and pound type of meeting.

2. C. Wentz (PHI) or E. Manning (NYG) throw a passing TD in the 1st Quarter YES 2 / NO 3

NO. It’s definitely a possibility, I’m just not certain it’ll be on the Giants side. Eli Manning has thrown just six touchdowns over the first five games of the year. Then you flip to the Giants defense and they’ve only allowed six passing touchdowns this year.

3. S. Barkley (NYG) gains 30 or more total yards in the 1st Quarter YES 3.3 / NO 2.2

YES. He’s on a torrid pace and needs to have two more games of total offense to tie Kareem Hunt ’s record for consecutive games over 100 scrimmage yards. I mentioned how I think this could be a run first type of evening, so Barkley will play a big role in that.

4. NYG scores on their opening drive YES 4.5 / NO 1.7

NO. There is nothing that makes me believe this offense comes out and scores 30 points on this Eagles team like they did in Carolina last week. Vegas projects them under 22, which doesn’t exactly line up with an opening drive TD.

5. PHI scores a TD on their opening drive YES 3.5 / NO 2.0

NO. I could see points on the board, but I don’t think it’s a touchdown. In the first three games Carson Wentz has played in, they’ve went on an opening drive just once and it was against a bad Colts defense.

6. The first offensive play of the 1st Quarter gains 4 or more yards YES 2.5 / NO 2.5

YES. With all of us expecting a run heavy game, watch the first play be a play action bomb down the field catching the opposing team off guard.
