If you give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he’ll eat for a lifetime.

We take this adage to heart when it comes to playing NFL DFS. The Fantasy Alarm Playbook isn’t just about handing you a list of players and a lineup to use each week. It is designed to help you learn to be a better DFS player. It’s about teaching you the process used in selecting which players to scout and, eventually, which ones to use.

Therefore, we will begin each week with the Weekly NFL DFS Watch List which is designed to keep tabs on marquee names, chalk plays and, of course, the weekly bargains who may not see the same coverage and exposure. This piece will be continuously updated throughout the week, based on the most recent news and injuries which means you may see a name or two removed as we get closer to kick-off. You may also see a few late-week additions who pique our interest for some reason too, and by the end of the week, this Watch List will eventually become your Playbook. Again, it’s about teaching you the process.

Nothing major to report

Match-Up History:

The Raiders and Chargers have split 4-4 over their last eight but the Chargers have won the last four-straight.

The average margin of vicotry of the last four games has been 16.7 points

If you are playing the Showdown Slate, here is who I like:

Philip Rivers , QB -- Having his quarterbacks coach Shane Steichen working as his offensive coordinator should continue to help and the fact that he's facing such a soft secondary should help the offense maintin its momentum. He's faced some tough pass defenses lately, but when he's up against weaker competition, he usually shines for 300 yards and a pair of scores.

Derek Carr , QB -- Since the bye week, Carr has averaged close to 290 passing yards per game and has seven touchdowns to just one interception. He's definitely coming into his own and he's facing the 23rd-ranked pass defense according to DVOA numbers.

Josh Jacobs , RB -- The dude is a behemoth and he's running hard each and every time he's out on the field. The should isssue has been a constant so it won't hinder him. If the Chargers pass-rushers get over-aggressive, the Raiders will just run Jacobs towards them as they over-pursue.

Austin Ekeler , RB -- The Raiders run defense ranks 11th according to DVOA, so we're not looking at Melvin Gordon as much as we are Ekeler. The fact that the Raiders rank 28th against running back pass plays should show you which direction the Chargers could be headed.

Tyrell Williams , WR -- Revenge game, baby! We love it. He may see a lot of Casey Hayward , but he should still outshine.

Hunter Renfrow, WR -- He's found the end zone in each of his last two games and is starting to become a regular target for Carr. Given the shortcomings in the Chargers secondary, Renfrow looks like a decent low-cost option.

Keenan Allen , WR -- He's got to break out at some point, doesn't he? He'll match up with Lamarcus Joyner in the slot for the most part and that grades out well for Allen.

Mike Williams , WR -- He finally hit his stride this past week with his first 100-yard game and he has a sizebale height advantage over Daryl Worley who will attempt to cover him in this game.

Hunter Henry , TE -- Most will tilt towards Darren Waller due to the targets he has seen this season, but the better match-up comes here for Henry as the Raiders rank 22nd against the TE position and are allowing just over 70 yards per game to them.
