TT v Rare Atom

Team WE v eStar Gaming

The chalk won out on Tuesday and it wasn’t even that close. With teams like EDG and TES looking unstoppable, how will teams like Team WE keep up? We also have to wonder how teams like Rare Atom will continue to separate themselves from the pack. While not as star studded of a slate, we see some desperate teams looking to make a move towards the top of the standings as we near the end of the split.

Game #1: TT v Rare Atom

Cann’s Pick: Rare Atom

Game #2: Team WE v eStar Gaming

Cann’s Pick: Team WE

Fantasy Value Breakdown

Captain

Favorite: FoFo (RA: $11,400) The gap between RA and TT is probably wider than between Team WE and RA. FoFo is RA’s win condition and they will play through him. Statistically he is very similar to Twila but the difference comes in his support staff and how he plays around them. He has a 69%+ team kill participation and in 13 games he only has 22 deaths. Rare Atom has faced some of the tougher competition in the league thus far in teams like Team WE, LNG, and TES. I think as RA continues to play some of the easier competition, FOFo’s numbers will continue to rise.

Value Pick: Shanks (WE: $10,800) Shanks is a proven entity. Team WE is coming off of a 9-3-19 (over a 9 KDA) in their 2-0 win over FPX on Monday. He will have his hands full with irma but with his 50 total kills on the year and almost 20 less kills than his lane opponent, Shanks should have a decent day at the office.

Top Lane

Favorite: Breathe (WE: $6,400) For those of you planning on actually watching the match, this will be a treat to watch this lane. Breathe is so proficient at knowing when to leave top lane and looking to team fight.Breathe usually gets put on an island in the top lane and does a great job up there. He has only 32 deaths to his 40+ kills in 20 games. He has a 60.8% team kill participation which comes off the back of great flank engages around dragon and baron. Great pickup and a decent price for him.

Value Pick: zs (ES: $6,000) Do I believe that eStar will win this matchup? Not probably. Does data support the idea that zs is a decent pickup here? Yes. Comparing him to Breathe is somewhat hard because the playstyles are different. When you look at zs’ game, you see help plays the sidelane far more which is why he has a lower team kill participation (57%) and more deaths (46) but what he does well is his overall damage per minute (400) and his low team death rate (17%). He makes a lot of pressure in the side lane without dying.

Jungle

Favorite: beishang (WE: $7,000) In terms of how Team WE can structure their win condition, it will really focus on how beishang can put H4cker behind. While comparing all junglers on this slate, beishang is leading all of them in kills (75) and assists (119). He facilitates first blood kills on Team WE 30% of the time. He should rack up high numbers, especially in the form that Team WE is playing in now.

Value Pick: Xiaopeng (TT: $6,200) Xiaopeng is a pleasant upside on TT. He is about 30% of all of TT’s kills and 63 assists through only 9 games. He is extremely gank heavy and finds himself behind in gold (-330) and experience (-751) at 10 minutes but he is averaging over 3 kills in every match he has played which for a new jungler in the LPL, it is a promising sign. They are on a two game win streak shows a lot of promise in how Xiaopeng could possibly perform against RA.

Mid Lane

Favorite: irma (ES: $6,800) I really like irma. He plays on a really inconsistent team but his play is fairly solid. The last few games they have played were pretty close (1-2 loss to both TT and V5) but a few of those losses I place more on the coaching staff/pick-ban process. Through 20 games, he has 52 kills an 3+ KDA. He will have a hard time against these reinvigorated WE lineup, but irma will pick up his points in this matchup.

Value Pick: Twila (TT: $6,400) This is another possible avenue for TT to get a victory. If the combination of Twila and Xiaopeng can take FoFo out of the match, you can find Twila picking up some decent points. He has 33 kills in 11 games (3 kills per game) and has over 20% of all TT’s kills. He is weaker in lane and this is what makes him a riskier pick, especially into FoFo but it also means he could have a lower ownership in your lobbies making it worth it.

ADC

Favorite: Juimeng (WE: $7,600) This is your fifth best producing ADC in the LPL. He has only 40 deaths but 91 kills and 101 assists through his 20 games played. First blood also comes from the bot lane 30% of the time. He also tops this slate for average fantasy points per game at 69.5 which is a respectable number and is 5 more than his lane opponent.

Value Pick: rat (ES: $7,200) Speaking of Juimeng’s lane opponent,  rat isn’t a bad option for today. Keeping in mind he is on the fourth worst team in the LPL he has the second highest FPPG (64.3), second most kills (78) and second best team kill share rate (31%) on the slate. Now the only issue is the person above him in every metric is Juimeng, this pick can be seen as more of a risk.

Support

Favorite: Hang (RA: $5,600) To pick up Hang here is as much about what you expect out of Teeen as it is what you expect from Hang. Teen has a 2.1 KDA and while a lot of assists, he dies in lane a lot. This should give Hang and his ADC (iBoy) plenty of opportunities to pick up some early leads and more importantly points for you. Hang is EXTREMELY fighting focused with a 74.7% team kill participation rate and Rare Atom should kill TT quite a bit.

Value Pick: Missing: $5,200) The cost is lower on missing because the gap in between the two teams in the standings is less than RA v TT. Missing has top assist numbers (162) and second best first blood rate (35%) giving you a clear insight that points are there to be made in the bot lane. Even his lane opponent (ShiauC) has a first blood participation rate of 40% which is promising a lot of action in the bot lane.

Team

Favorite: Rare Atom ($5,200) This is just the heavier favorite. Bolvada is giving Rare Atom -600 odds to win and around -150 to -200 to get first objective across all objectives in any one of their games. Not a complete lock, but a pretty safe team pick to make.

Value Pick: eStar ($4,400) Here is your possible upset here. A VERY long shot, especially with the form Team WE is in now but remember before the break how terrible their teamfighting was? I would not be shocked to see a reappearance of that Team WE again this split. With rat and irma posting decent KDAs and kill numbers compared to their opponents, this could be a slick way to steal some lobbies.
