KT Rolster v DWG KIA

Fredit BRION v Liiv SANDBOX

I’m baaaaaaack. Did you miss me? I missed all of you and even more so I have missed covering League of Legends for you! With the LPL out another week, we have a small slate here but there are angles for both your GPP and cash lobbies. We get to see what should be an exciting match in DWG in KT Rolster as well as a possible view of the new Liiv SANBOX bot laner (Prince).

Game #1 KT Rolster v DWG KIA

Game #2: Fredit BRION v Liiv SANDBOX

Cann’s Pick: Liiv SANDBOX

Fantasy Value Breakdown

Captain

Favorite: ShowMaker (DWG: $11,100) ShowMaker has second most kills amongst all LCK mid laners in the LCK with 69 total kills. He is currently holding a 7.1 KDA and is showing that he can win his lane and roam to the side lanes to help out the side lanes. He has one of the highest team kill participation percentages at 71% which means in matches that DWG performs well (which is most of them) he picks up huge numbers.

Value Pick: HyBriD (KT: $10,500) This is a sneaky pick, especially in GPP lobbies because most people will avoid KT like the plague. Don’t get me wrong, they will have their work cut out for them but KT Rolster was designed to be a contender this year and a lot of the successes they have had in the first half this split stems from HyBriD. He has the most kills among bot laners (94) and has the second highest experience advantage at 10 minutes (+126). This is a riskier pick because he is death prone but if KT makes this a series (or even has one well performing game) you could cash out on this pick.

Top Lane

Favorite: Khan (DWG: $6,600) Taking out the players with less that 10 games played, Khan has the best KDA in the top lane with a 4.2. He has 34 kills and a whopping 120 assists. This is the safest play on the slate with the overall team gaps and his ability to play with his team. In the LCK, top lane players tend to be more on an island than in the LPL so his 61.6% team kill participation is actually quite high. He isn’t necessarily the flashiest player in the LCK, but he just doesn’t lose lane which is always a good investment.

Value Pick: Doran (KT: $5,800) Here is your other risky play that could pay dividends in your lobbies. Doran is only second to Rascal in most kills in the top lane (47 total kills). He also has 116 assists which means outside of deaths, he is just as good of a DFS performer as Khan. He also is keeping pace with Khan in gold and experience at 10 minutes which means that top lane will most likely be a lane DWG won’t be able to just roll over. Great budget pick here.

Jungle

Favorite: Croco (LSB: $7,000) Most likely news to all of you, Croco is actually the kill leader among all junglers on this slate. This came as a surprise to me but he has 50 kills and next most is Canyon at 49. Croco also has 104 assists and has one of the highest team kill participation scores of 71%. He is a solid team fighter putting out 334 damage per minute. If you are looking for a safe alternative to Canyon, Croco is a great pickup.

Value Pick: UmTi (BRO: $6,600) This is a value pick less for UmTi’s individual skill but more for how I think the matchup will play out. BRO has had some pretty close games of late and LSB only has one more game win and both teams have a pretty impressive win in their last two matches. UmTi is heavily team focused with the highest kill participation score of 79.3% which means if BRO can pull off this win, UmTi will most likely cash in.

Mid Lane

Favorite: FATE (LSB: $7,200) FATE is quietly one of the better mid laners in the LCK. Even with being on such a low performing team (2nd to last place team in the LCK) he has 60 kills and 28 deaths. FATE will pick up advantages in the mid lane (averaging +120 gold at 10 minutes) and transfers that into power in late game teamfights (74% kill participation). Mid lane is BRO’s weakest lane by far and FATE could easily take over this series.

Value Pick: Ucal (KT: $6,600) It feels like I am trolling you guys with this pick but when you dive into the numbers, Ucal seems more and more like a legitimate pickup. He has a respectable KDA (3.6) and is less that 20% of his team’s deaths. He has a positive CSD (+0.5)  and continues his lane control into the late game averaging 9.5 CSPM. The cost here is what is appealing, $6,600 for a respectable mid laner is something you don’t get often.

ADC

Favorite: Ghost (DWG: $7,800) Ghost is the standard for consistent and safe play. He is averaging 75.2 FPPG and only has 27 deaths (1st among all ADCs with over 10 games played). DWG plays through other lanes and many times their support (BeryL) roams and leaves Ghost on an island. This is way he averages deficits in gold and experience at 10 minutes but when he transitions into the late game he takes over teamfights. He will get tested by the KT Rolster bot lane but he should be able to hold his own until DWG transition into later game teamfights.

Value Pick: Hena (LSB: $7,200) Bot lane is the biggest weakness for LSB by a wide margin. This is why LSB has brought in a new ADC. I think it may take some time to fully integrate Prince into the lineup giving BRO a window of possibility here. Henna has 57 kills (which is more than both LSB ADCs had combined-53) and has a 2.6 KDA. This is a risky pick but if you are playing GPP and looking for a possible upset, this may be the angle you need.

Support

Favorite: BeryL (DWG: $5,800) Chalk pick here. He has a KDA of 3.1 and the second most KDAs among supports on the slate (151).  DWG are huge favorites (-1000 odds on Bolvada) and BeryL is the image of playing his part. He makes smart engages to start fights and knows hwo to do so while limiting stupid deaths.

Value Pick: Zzus (KT: $5,000) In true KT fashion, they under perform as a team but as individuals have decent numbers. Zzus has the highest assist numbers in supports playing today (152) and has been a part of a third of all of KT’s first blood kills. He doesn’t get as many roaming kills early on but does a decent job setting up in mid game skirmishes. KT will need to win through the bot lane to have a chance against DWG meaning this could pay off big if they pull off the upset.

Team

Favorite: DWG KIA ($5,600) This is the heaviest favorite of the day. I think while KT could shock DWG and steal a game, the ability to stack neutral objectives is key to this pick. It also helps that KT Rolster is one of the worst teams in terms of defending and taking towers which should give DWG a clear win condition in this matchup.

Value Pick: Liiv SANDBOX ($5,200) This isn’t necessarily a coin flip, but I struggle with picking LSB in anything. If you have watch any of their matches, it feels like they are passengers in their own games. They do a decent job gaining leads in the early game, but even at gold advantages they get pushed around. If their new acquisition makes the impact they are hoping for, this could be a steal of a pick. If they continue to flounder it could be frustrating to watch this team play.
