The fourth day of groups brings us to the final day of group A play. At the end of Sunday we will know which two teams will represent this group in the Rumble Round. In the first three days RNG has looked completely untouchable. UOL and PGG have split their previous matches so this slate means that much more! There is little chance of change at the top of the group but it will be a gritty day of matches for PGG and UOL. So let’s get after it!

Game #1 Unicorns of Love v Royal Never Give Up

Cann’s Pick: Royal Never Give Up

Game #2 Pentanet.GG v Unicorns of Love

Cann’s Pick: Unicorns of Love

Game #3 Pentanet.GG v Royal Never Give Up

Cann’s Pick: Royal Never Give Up

Game #4 Unicorns of Love v Royal Never Give Up

Cann’s Pick: Royal Never Give Up

Game #5 Pentanet.GG v Unicorns of Love

Cann’s Pick: Pentanet.GG

Game #6 Pentanet.GG v Royal Never Give Up

Cann’s Pick: Pentanet.GG

Captain

Favorite: GALA (RNG: $12,000) In the first three games of the tournament GALA has been untouchable. He has had 21 kills, 16 assists and two deaths. Neither of then other bot lanes can challenge the LPL representative. GALA has played his marquee slow scaling early game and then an absolutely turns it on in mid game team fights. WIth the struggles that DWG had on Saturday, I see RNG viewing that as an opportunity to establish themselves as this tournament favorites. Look for GALA to have an impressive four game set

Value Pick: Pabu (PGG: $9,300)

Top Lane

Favorite: Xiaohu (RNG: $6,600): Arguably one of the top two top laners in the tournament (the other being Armut from MAD Lions) and has displayed absolute dominance over BOSS and BioPanther. In his last game against UOL, he dropped 40 points and had 5 kills. We have seen RNG even put an emphasis on Xiaohu being a carry for the team with picks like Lucian for the top lane. I expect more of the same from this team but I do expect somewhere in this day for PGG to pull off a surprise win but in a bloody fashion meaning Xiaohu should still get his points.

Value Pick: BOSS (UOL: $6,000)

Jungle

Favorite: Wei (RNG: $7,200): Wei is by far the leader for the MVP of MSI in my book. He is one kill off the leader (Carzzy) and he isn’t playing in the carry role. Wei has completely had his way with the other two junglers and it hasn’t been close. He has an almost unbelievable KDA of 31.0 and only 2 deaths in 4 games with a kill participation of 74%. Look for RNG to continue the aggressive playstyle and proactive strategy against the lesser regions.

Value Pick: Pabu (PGG: $6,200)

Mid Lane

Favorite: Cryin (RNG: $7,800): This is probably the RNG member that is the most justifiable to skip over. He has averaged between 25-30 FPPG and has very few kills (10 kills in 4 games) but has still been active in the assist column with 35 total assists. I can appreciate how he fits into RNG’s overall strategy with needing little resources from Wei but building up substantial leads (+137 GD10 and +135XPD10). I don’t think there is anything wrong with picking up Cryin, because he will get you consistent points and more than the other options, but there may be better places to spend that money.

Value Pick: Nomanz (UOL: $7,200)

ADC

Favorite: Praedyth (PGG: $7,000) The choice between Praedyth and Lodik is a hard one. I think Lodik is safer (7 deaths versus Praedyth’s 12) but Lodik just has had little to no impact in this tournament. He has 6 kills and 8 assists in 4 games as well as a -519 GD10 and -436 XPD10. Praedyth is at a -90 GD10 and 8 XPD10 which isn’t great, but does tell me he is more of a difference maker for PGG and that should mean that he is worth more as a pick, especially at a cheaper cost.

Value Pick: Lodik (UOL:$7,400)

Support

Favorite: Ming (RNG: $5,800) Along with Carzzy/Kaiser, GALA/Ming is probably the best bot lane in Iceland right now. Like has 54 assists and only 69% kill participation so far. He has the best support XPD10 at +276 (next closest is 196). Ming is aggressive and shown he outclasses SaNTaS and Decoy. This is a slam dunk for points, especially paired with GALA.

Value Pick: Decoy (PGG: $4,600)

Team

Favorite: Royal Never Give Up ($5,400)  This is the top team in the group. They have 84 kills and a kill/death ratio of 4.20. They get first blood in 75% of their matches and they have an absolute monopoly over turrets (First turret and first three turrets) with 100% control. They also have 100% baron control which no other team in the tournament has. Absolute slam dunk.

Value Pick: Unicorns of Love ($4,600)
