FINAL PRACTICE (3:00pm ET - 3:50pm ET)

  • This practice session will be close to track conditions for tomorrow’s race.
  • The Burton cousins (Jeb and Harrison) look much more comfortable in the early portion of the final practice.
  • Anthony Alfredo blew a right-rear tire in the first 10 minutes of the second practice. Could cost him track time taking it to the garage.
  • Joe Graf has struggled with Turn 12 in both practices in addition to running slower laps.
  • Clements got into the grass in the second practice. He’s had some unique sharper turns where the left-front wheel gets off the ground and looks like the car is going to tip over. It hasn’t kept him from running fast laps.
  • Chastain followed teammate, A.J. Allmendinger, for a couple laps midway through the second practice to gain an edge and see what’s working best for Dinger.
  • Annett is looking much better in the second practice as he’s running laps behind Justin Allgaier.
  • Mike Wallace has turned in decent laps in the 0-car but it’s clear it’s been a few years since he’s been on a road course for Xfinity. He’s gone off the track quite a few times in each practice session.
  • The Kaulig cars (Allmendinger, Chastain, Haley) seem to have the track figured out pretty well. With ten minutes to go they’re each in the Top 7 for speed.
  • Allgaier went off the track in Turn 7. Wasn’t his fault though as he was trying to avoid a rogue cone that was in the middle of the track due to Michael Annett getting lose and knocking the cone into the track.
  • The cone is still in the track and Allmendinger went off the track in an effort to avoid the cone. He got some grass in the grill, but no serious damage. Dinger took it off the track after that incident feeling fine about the car.

First Practice (1:30pm ET - 2:20pm ET)

  • Ryan Sieg got into the grass on back-to-back laps in Turns 12 and 13.
  • Austin Cindric is cutting the corners of Turns 5 and 6 better than anybody else in the field. Some are imitating his method to approaching that section and are getting better at it, but it’s really helping Cindric turn the fastest laps during practice.
  • Chase Briscoe ran one lap and thought something was wrong with the transmission. He took it off track for about 15 minutes and then brought it back on running much better after making the fix.
  • Jeb Burton went on the radio saying that the car was having issues when he tried to up-shift. He said it felt a little too jerky for his liking. He also got a little loose around Turns 12 & 13.
  • Harrison Burton looks to be cutting Turns 5 & 6 almost as well as Cindric.
  • Allgaier missed Turn 12 on one of his practice laps. Turn 12 is the hardest one to miss on the course. That’s why they’re practicing at least.
  • Burton opted to follow Allgaier for a few laps to see what lines Allgaier was running.
  • Brandon Brown got into the grass about halfway through Stage 1. Up to that point he was running just inside the Top 20.
  • Riley Herbst started coming on very strong toward the end of the first practice. Ran a Top 12 lap with 16 minutes to go.
  • Preston Pardus is running extremely well in the first practice. Has a Top 10 lap with 15 minutes to go.
  • With 13 minutes to go, Allmendinger has taken over the fastest lap from Austin Cindric.
  • Michael Annett hasn’t looked great through the first practice. He missed Turn 12 and locked up his tires with 7 minutes to go. He took his car right to the garage.
  • Myatt Snider is experiencing a throttle issue in the 93-car.
  • Brett Moffitt suffered a left-rear flat tire toward the end of the first practice.
  • Awful practice for Jesse Little. He needs some work done on the car. He ran one lap and took it right off the track posting the worst speed.
  • Only 14 of drivers ran double-digit laps, which makes sense since it takes about 90-95 seconds to complete a lap
