Ayo DosunmuILDUKE860044.44830041.58
This is Dosunmu’s first game since last week’s loss to Baylor - and we can bank on a big bounceback effort from one of the best guards in college basketball. Some might say Dosunmu had a “bad” game vs. Baylor because he only shot 33% from the field and was mostly held in check by a talented defense in a double-digit loss. However, he still put up 34 DK points with a solid stat line of 18 points, five assists and six rebounds by the end of the night. It’s the type of stat line we should expect almost every night from Dosunmu, who owns a 30% usage rate and 35% shots share when Illinois is on offense. He’ll be the Illini’s main guy in a tight matchup with Duke and we can expect 35-45 DFS points from him again as a strong cash or GPP anchor.
Sahvir WheelerUGAMONT830039.5
If you’re playing on DraftKings, this Georgia squad is one to target and its best player is Wheeler. After taking a backseat to Anthony Edwards last season, Wheeler is now the Bulldogs’ main ball-handler and offensive playmaker from the point guard position. He owns a team-high 32% usage rate and has racked up 10 or more assists in all three games this season - not to mention the highest shot volume among Georgia’s starters. Wheeler put up these big numbers over the first three outings against subpar mid-majors and he should have no problem doing the same against Montana. The ‘Dogs play at a top-30 pace in the country and Wheeler is the catalyst of that fast-paced attack. If you’re not going Dosunmu on DK - or want to pair both in the same lineup - Wheeler is great for cash or GPP.
Marcus CarrMINNBC  790040.35
Over on FanDuel, this Minnesota-Boston College matchup has the second-highest total with two fast-paced teams facing off. The best player on either side is Marcus Carr, who runs the Gophers’ point and has over a 30% usage rate and shots share through four games so far. He’s put up 34+ FD points in all four outings while consistently logging 30+ minutes as Minnesota’s lead ball-handler and playmaker. Although the competition gets a bit tougher with Carr facing a Power 5 team for the first time this season - we should expect another big game from one of the best point guards in the country in an uptempo game.
Ron Harper Jr.RUSYR770038.42760036.20
Considering all the top-tier talent listed above, Ron Harper Jr. will probably go low-owned and overlooked on this slate - but he has the upside to outscore all of them with a big performance tonight. First off, most of Rutgers’ starters are playing heavy minutes as they deal with the absences of Geo Baker and Caleb McConnell in the backcourt. Secondly, the Scarlet Knights will likely lean on Harper as their main offensive threat in this matchup vs. Syracuse that funnels opposing scoring to either the three-point line or at the top of the key - which are usually the holes in the 2-3 zone defense. Harper has shot 38% from three-point range so far with a team-high 16 attempts from deep - and his 6-foot-6 frame and versatile scoring/passing combo will mean he’s the top candidate to penetrate the zone defense in the middle too. He’s the high-upside guard in the expensive range for GPP’s if you fade the above guys.

Joseph Girard IIISYRRU610025610021.56
Right off the bat, we need to be considering the Syracuse starters more than you’d think on this slate. The ‘Cuse starting lineup is playing heavy minutes without a strong bench - giving all of them a strong DFS floor with the extended playing time compared to other teams with deeper rotations on this slate. As for Girard, he’s taken on more offensive responsibility with Buddy Boeheim out for COVID - highlighted by his 21 points scored and 32% usage rate in ‘Cuse’s last game. In that scoring outburst, Girard went 6-for-12 from three-point range and added in five assists and two boards as well. That three-point shooting gives Girard some big upside in this matchup vs. a Rutgers defense that allows a lot of opposing points via the deep shot. He’s a high-floor GPP option. Also consider Kadary Richmond as a cheaper Syracuse play on both sites.
Leaky BlackUNCIOWA590020.94620019.70
If you’ve played Leaky Black in lineups this season over other UNC players - you probably cashed. He’s been arguably the most consistent and best per-dollar DFS option on North Carolina this season with Caleb Love, Garrison Brooks and Armando Bacot all underwhelming compared to their higher price tags so far. Meanwhile, Black has not only been more affordable than his teammates - but he also produces across all stat categories while playing heavy minutes. He’s still right on the edge of being valuable at under 6k and he’s a cheaper way to get exposure to the highest-scoring and possibly most entertaining game on the slate. Black has played a bigger role for UNC in recent matchups vs. Texas and Stanford - and his defensive versatility and vet experience will be needed against Iowa tonight.
Jordan BohannonIOWAUNC550017.83530016.60
With this UNC-Iowa matchup being the highest-scoring on the slate with two uptempo teams facing off - we at least want some exposure to either side. One of the most affordable pieces from both teams is Bohannan, who’s a value on both FD and DK. Although the junior combo guard doesn’t offer much real scoring upside, his DFS floor remains fairly high because of his ability to rack up rebounds and assists. Case in point: he put up 14 DK points last time out with five assists and six rebounds despite having zero points scored and going 0-for-3 from the field. He’s in a good spot against a UNC defense that doesn’t guard opposing backcourts well and allows plenty of points via the three-pointer - which is where Bohannan’s offense comes from. He’s a good value for both cash and GPP as we should expect larger minutes with Iowa finally facing a Power 5 program for the first time this year. You can look at CJ Fredrick as a good value option in Iowa’s backcourt as well.

Other Guards to Consider:

  • Prentiss Hubb - Notre Dame ($7,800 DK / $6,700 FD)
  • Alan Griffin - Syracuse ($7,100 DK / $6,900 FD)
  • Paul Mulcahy - Rutgers ($5,800 DK / $6,500 FD)
  • Wynston Tabbs - Boston College ($5,800 FD Only)
  • Tye Fagan - Georgia ($5,400 DK Only)
  • CJ Fredrick - Iowa ($5,300 DK / $5,300 FD)
  • Wendell Moore Jr. - Duke ($5,300 DK / $4,600 FD)
  • Cartier Diarra - Virginia Tech ($5,100 DK / $5,500 FD)
  • Trent Frazier - Illinois ($5,000 DK / $5,800 FD)

Luka GarzaIOWAUNC950055.42920052.27
If you follow college basketball, you surely know about Luka Garza by now. He was one of the best players in the country last year and will be a stud all season long after choosing to return to college for his senior campaign. Although Iowa hasn’t faced tough competition yet, it’s clear that Garza will be an offensive beast every time out as the Hawkeyes’ go-to threat in the paint and from deep. In his three games so far, Garza has put up 50+ DK points each time while averaging 34 real points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game. He leads Iowa in usage rate (33%) and shots share (39%) and is definitely worth these expensive price tags. He should have no problem posting big numbers in a fast-paced, high-scoring game vs. UNC - and could have even more success if Tar Heels’ big man Garrison Brooks is out or limited with a sprained ankle.
Evan MobleyUSCUCIR900034.5
If for some reason you don’t want to pay all the way up for Luka Garza, a nice lower-owned play on the DK Only slate is USC stud big man Evan Mobley. The 7-foot freshman is the Trojans’ top offensive threat who was pretty dominant in recent non-conference matchups vs. BYU and UConn. He’s a double-double threat every time out as a force in the paint on both ends and an elite shot-blocker as well. Mobley should have no problem dominating tonight in an easy matchup vs. UC Irvine. Considering the high price tag - and with Garza also on the slate - Mobley is just a GPP option on DK. But his DFS ceiling is as high as anyone’s against a subpar opponent tonight.
Matthew HurtDUKEIL740034.83740031.90
While Coach K is shuffling around his starting lineup and rotations, Matthew Hurt has been a mainstay as one of Duke’s key holdovers from last year’s team. Even with some talented freshmen on the team, Hurt has arguably been the most consistent offensive threat for the Blue Devils and he’s been dominant over the last two games. His 24 points scored and 41 DK points in a soft matchup is obviously nice - but it’s the performance vs. Michigan State that stands out too. Hurt had 21-point, 13-rebound double-double for 39 DK points against a tough Spartans’ defense and clearly earned more offensive responsibility and trust from Coach K moving forward. He’s a versatile scorer both in the paint and from three-point range with his 6-foot-9 frame. Hurt could end up being Duke’s leading scorer this season and he should be leaned on in this matchup vs. Illinois. He’s very affordable on both sites and presents a very good cash game option in the high end.
Kofi CockburnILDUKE730027.94660025.08
So it looks like both DK and FD are overreacting a bit too much to one bad game from Cockburn. After the stud center put up just 14 DK points in just 18 minutes while battling foul trouble vs. Baylor last time out - his price tag has now decreased enough where he’s a great cash game option and a high-upside GPP pivot off Luka Garza. In his three previous outings, Cockburn had 30+ DK points and a double-double in each - and he could easily return to that same level of production tonight. The matchup vs. Duke may seem tough, but Cockburn should have the upper hand against Blue Devils’ freshman center Jalen Johnson. These salaries are way too low for someone that has legit 30-40 DFS point upside - and it’s probably the lowest we see him all year. Expect a bounceback performance from the 7-footer.

Armando BacotUNCIOWA590022.31580020.42
Bacot’s DFS production has been very up-and-down this season and both sites have appropriately lowered his salary below 6k because of the volatile outings. On this slate, though, he could be a GPP winner. Fellow UNC big man Garrison Brooks is a legit question mark to play as he deals with a sprained ankle that’s limited him in practice. Playing on a bum ankle and facing a stud like Iowa’s Luka Garza is not a good combination. Even if Brooks plays, look for Bacot to play a much larger role in the frontcourt as UNC uses him and Day’Ron Sharpe to make life difficult for Garza. Bacot himself is coming off a double-double against Texas last time out when he put up 28 DK points in just 25 minutes. If he sees 30 or more minutes tonight, he could easily outperform his price tags on both sites.
Kyle YoungOSUND500021.42600020.67
This play might be better suited for DK than FD - because of the price differential - but Young seems like a huge value tonight. The Buckeyes’ starting center/power forward doesn’t offer a whole lot of offensive upside but his DFS floor is fairly safe with his rebounding production. He’s gobbled up at least eight boards in each of the first three games and owns the best defensive rebounding rate on the team. That matches up well vs. a Notre Dame frontcourt that’s bad at offensive rebounding and hasn’t been good down low on offense in general. Considering how much cheaper Young is compared to Justice Sueing and E.J. Liddell - he’s a solid cash value on DK with upside on FD as well.
Mark WilliamsDUKEIL480011400010.67
Duke has been shuffling its starting rotations around, but it’s possible we see Williams back amongst the starters for a second straight outing. The 7-foot freshman came off the bench for the first two games - and only logged eight total minutes - but he saw a big uptick in usage and playing time last time out. Although it came against a bad Bellarmine team, it’s encouraging to see Williams get a shot in the starting rotation and have a 21% usage rate with seven boards, three assists and four blocks while on the court for only 15 minutes. This may have been an outlier - or Coach K was trying to get Williams some playing time to gear up for a matchup with Illinois’ own 7-footer Kofi Cockburn tonight. Duke may need Williams’ size more tonight than they did against Michigan State earlier this season - and it would make him a massive value with the extended playing time. Maybe we see a coming-out party for the highly-touted freshman?

Other Forwards to Consider:
