Top Guards

Payton Pritchard - Oregon ($8,500 DK / $8,500 FD)

In terms of safe production from a high-priced guard in DFS CBB, it doesn’t get much better than Payton Pritchard. The Ducks’ senior point guard is averaging 37.5 DK points per game over the last ten outings as he consistently fills the stat sheet with his 20 PPG, six assists, four rebounds and one steal per game. We can almost always trust him to return value at his expensive salaries as he’s failed to put up at least 34 DK points only once in the past ten games. When Pritchard faced Colorado earlier this season, he had 37 DK points with 21 points scored. The DFS floor is always safe for him because of his high usage in the offense. During conference play, his 29% usage rate, 31% shots share and 33% assist rate are all top six marks in the Pac-12 - plus he’s one of the better three-point and free-throw shooters in the league. Lock him into your cash lineups.

Tyler Bey - Colorado ($8,200 DK / $7,500 FD)

Bey may be listed as a guard, but he’s the starting power forward for Colorado and he’s one of the best post players in the conference (he’s also forward-eligible on DK). The junior recently struggled to return value a couple weeks ago, but he’s been very productive over the last three games and now should be safe to pay up for at these salaries. In the last three outings, Bey is putting up 36 DK points per game while averaging a stat-stuffing line of 16 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.3 blocks/steals. When Colorado faced Oregon earlier this season, Bey proved to be a big matchup problem down low for the Ducks’ frontcourt. He put up 36 DK points in that game with 15 points scored and 14 rebounds. The Oregon forwards have not gotten any better and they actually have some depth worries with a couple injuries. Bey should be able to have success again in this matchup and he’s a safe cash game play tonight with GPP upside as well.

Jarron Cumberland - Cincinnati ($8,000 DK / $7,300 FD)

We’ve recommended Jarron Cumberland a lot lately and there’s no reason to go away from it until he ceases to return value. Cincinnati’s point guard has really picked up his production during AAC play as he’s returned to full health after starting the year banged up. Cumberland is averaging 35 DK points per game over the last ten outings and he has the upside to eclipse 40 DK points when he’s scoring at a high volume - something that’s become more common with three games of 22 or more points in the last five. On Saturday, the senior proved he can still be valuable in DFS even when he isn’t making his shots - he put up 33 DK points against UConn despite only scoring eight points (he had 10 assists, five rebounds and three blocks). When Cumberland faced Memphis earlier this year, he had 27.5 DK points - but that was before he hit his consistent stride as a scorer while being more involved as a passer and rebounder. If you’re not paying up for either Pritchard or Bey on this slate, Cumberland is certainly a viable pivot in cash games.

Marcus Tsohonis - Washington ($5,200 DK / $4,400 FD)

Despite Washington losing six straight entering tonight, Marcus Tsohonis has emerged as one of better DFS options for the Huskies and he’s a clear value on this slate as he’s outperforming his current salaries. The freshman has seen a big increase in playing time ever since original starting point guard Quade Green was ruled academically ineligible a month ago. During this recent span in Green’s absence, Tsohonis has arguably been the best point guard on the team and he was finally awarded with a starting role over the past two outings. In these two recent starts, he’s played 33 and 30 minutes and put up 31 and 21 DK points, respectively, while scoring in double figures both times. Plus, he’s seen an increase in shot volume and offensive usage since entering the starting rotation. We’ll have to wait and see if Tsohonis gets a third straight start - but he’ll be a very good cash and GPP play if that ends up happening.

Jaxon Brenchley - Utah ($4,800 DK / $4,000 FD)

With Both Gach still sidelined with a knee injury, Jaxon Brenchley should continue to start tonight and he’s a solid value play as long as he sees this extended playing time. Brenchley has now started the last four games in Gach’s place and is averaging 32 minutes per game over this span. Although the freshman doesn’t own a big offensive role for Utah, his time on the court has allowed him to return just enough value with assists, rebounds and steals - to go along with the occasional bucket. In two of these four starts, Brenchley put up 20 DK points and we’ll take that production all day at these salaries.

Isaac White - Stanford ($4,400 DK Only)

We’ll need more clarity on this one before Stanford’s 11 pm ET tipoff, but Isaac White could be a nice salary-saver on DK’s slate. On Saturday, the Cardinal not only played without starter Bryce Wills but stud big man Oscar da Silva went down with an injury. With both players out, White stepped up to play a season-high 30 minutes and he put up 21 DK points with 12 points scored and four made three-pointers. The junior probably benefited more from Wills being out so his upside is limited more if Wills is back tonight. However, White would still see more playing time than usual if da Silva sits - which seems likely as he recovers from a head laceration. The key to White’s DFS value tonight could wind being how many three-pointers he attempts. During conference play, White leads the whole Pac-12 in three-point percentage (48% on 31 attempts) and Arizona State’s defense allows a ton of opposing points via the perimeter shot.

Other Guards to Consider:

  • McKinley Wright - Colorado ($8,000 DK / $6,900 FD)

  • Joe Wieskamp - Iowa ($7,600 DK / $6,800 FD)

  • Rob Edwards - Arizona State ($5,600 DK Only)

  • CJ Fredrick - Iowa ($5,500 DK / $4,900 FD)

  • Dexter Dennis - Wichita State ($5,500 DK / $4,400 FD)

  • Shane Gatling - Colorado ($4,300 DK / $4,000 FD)

Top Forwards

Luka Garza - Iowa ($9,400 DK / $8,700 FD)

Surprise, surprise! Iowa’s stud center is once again the price king on both sites tonight, but he should be strongly considered in all formats despite these expensive salaries. This Iowa-Indiana matchup is projected to be the highest-scoring game on tonight’s slate and Luka Garza should have plenty of scoring and rebounding opportunities to have another dominant DFS outing. The junior is always a threat to put up 50+ DK points in any game because of his guaranteed role in the Hawkeyes’ offense. Garza’s 33% usage rate, 36% shots share and 7.2 fouls drawn per 40 minutes are all leading the Big Ten during conference play thus far - and he’s one of the best rebounders in the country with the nightly potential to grab double-digit boards. Over the last ten games, Garza is averaging 24 real points and 43 DK points and he’s put up 40 or more DK points in seven of those outings. If you don’t play Garza, this might be one of those slates where you wish you had - and he could be the difference between cashing or not.

Tres Tinkle - Oregon State ($8,800 DK / $8,100 FD)

Although Oregon State is struggling in Pac-12 action thus far, Tres Tinkle consistently puts up his numbers whether his team wins or loses. The senior power forward leads the Beavers in offensive usage rate (29%) and shots share (30%) during conference play and he’s always adding in rebounds and assists to go along with his team-leading scoring role. Tinkle is always safe for 30 or more DK points but he has much more upside when he’s playing at home with splits that are hard to ignore. When playing at home this year, Tinkle is averaging 43.4 DK points and 20.4 real points per game while shooting 50% from the field and 45% from three-point range. Meanwhile on the road this year, he’s averaging just 30 DK points and 16.7 real points per game while shooting 39% from the field and 18% from three. It’s clear that Tinkle is a better DFS play at home than on the road and it’s safe to pay up for him in tonight’s home matchup vs. Utah.

Nick Rakocevic - USC ($7,200 DK / $6,300 FD)

Last night, news broke that USC’s center and leading scorer Onyeka Okongwu is in concussion protocol and would unlikely play tonight against Washington. If Okongwu ends up sitting (which sounds more likely to happen than not), Nick Rakocevic gets an immediate bump in value as he would have a lot more usage and shot volume in the Trojans’ frontcourt. When Okongu missed a game earlier this season, Rakocevic benefited a ton as he led the team in scoring (19 points) and recorded 13 rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block against Florida Gulf Coast. Although that performance came against lesser competition, we should still expect a big game from Rakocevic and he’s a discount on both sites with salaries that don’t reflect Okongwu’s absence. It’s possible he’s a chalky play tonight and it might be a mistake to fade him in cash games.

RaeQuan Battle - Washington ($4,800 DK / $4,100 FD)

One of the more intriguing GPP plays on tonight’s slate is RaeQuan Battle, who Washington fans are clamoring to see more of lately. The freshman barely played for the majority of this season but he’s seen a lot more minutes during conference play. Battle even started three games over the last month and recently put together three straight games where he scored in double figures while going 8-for-20 (40%) from three-point range in two of those outings. Despite his increase in playing time and shot volume, though, Battle oddly only played one minute in Sunday’s loss to Washington State as he was basically a non-factor in the rotation. There are no reports of an injury to Battle so it’s honestly just weird that he barely played after showing promise as a scorer in the three games beforehand. Still, he might be worth a shot in tournaments tonight because he had put up at least 17 DK points in three straight before the last outing.

Jaiden Delaire - Stanford ($4,200 DK Only)

If you’re playing on DraftKings tonight, the Stanford rotation likely has some value opening up and Jaiden Delaire could be one of the elite cheap options on that slate. Stanford’s starting center/power forward Oscar da Silva is a big question mark to play tonight after he suffered a head laceration on Saturday and there’s currently no timetable for him to return to action. There’s always the chance he winds up playing with how volatile the college injury news can be - but if he’s out, then Delaire would likely step into a starting role tonight. After da Silva left last game early, Delaire played a season-high 30 minutes and scored 19 points and 34 DK points with plenty of ancillary stats thrown in. If we’re getting even half that production tonight from Delaire, he would be a massive value at this price tag and should be a near-lock if da Silva is indeed out.

Lance Thomas - Memphis ($3,800 DK / $4,500 FD)

With D.J. Jeffries missing the last three games and expected out for another few weeks, Lance Thomas has emerged as a regular contributor in Memphis’ rotation and he’s a very good value tonight with salaries that oddly have not been adjusted. Thomas has now started the last three games in Jeffries’ place and he’s put up 31, 24 and 12 DK points, respectively, in those outings. In the game that Jeffries got hurt, Thomas scored 20 points and 29 DK points while going 4-for-6 from three-point range. When the sophomore is making his deep shots, his DFS value is at its highest - but he’s still a value because he adds production in rebounds, steals and blocked shots with the increase in playing time. Plus, Thomas may be needed more than usual tonight as Memphis’ stud big man Precious Achiuwa has missed practice this week and could be limited if he plays.
