How did the early Saturday DFS CBB slate go for you? Good or bad, there’s a night slate to DOMINATE college basketball today as we gear up to March Madness!

Tonight’s slate on FanDuel has eight games and tips off at 8 pm ET. The DraftKings slate includes the same matchups but gets going a half hour earlier with a ninth game thrown in - Washington State-Arizona tips at 7:30 pm ET.

With a specific eye towards recent game trends, favorable and/or tough matchups, rotations and KenPom’s advanced stats, we’ll outline the guards and forwards to prioritize in your DFS CBB lineups today for both sites. We’ll also point out the games to generally target and fade today based on pace of play, spread and implied point totals as predicted by KenPom.

Games To Target:

  • Washington State @ Arizona - 7:30 pm ET (ARIZ -13 / 149 Implied Total) - DK Only

  • Creighton @ Seton Hall - 8 pm ET (SHU -1 / 155 Implied Total)

  • Saint Mary’s @ Gonzaga - 10 pm ET (GONZ -15 / 157 Implied Total)

Games To Fade:

  • Texas @ West Virginia - 8 pm ET (TEX -4 / 142 Implied Total)

  • Washington @ Arizona State - 10 pm ET (138 Implied Total)

Guards

Myles Powell - SHU ($9,100 DK / $8,500 FD) - Outside of a bust outing vs. Villanova last month, Powell has been one of the most dynamic and consistent scorers in the Big East this season. He’s scored at least 21 real points in six of the last nine games and is averaging 41.3 DK points in the last three games (minus that ‘Nova performance when he scored just three real points with seven turnovers). Creighton and Seton Hall both play fast and KenPom predicts this game to be one of the highest scoring on tonight’s slate - increasing Powell’s value as the clear-cut best player all-around on both sides. The junior dominates the usage and shot volume for Seton Hall as he can score from deep or by driving to the basket, while adding a few rebounds, assists and steals as well.

Matisse Thybulle - WASH ($7,300 DK / $7,800 FD) - Thybulle’s price is the highest it’s been in over ten games - and he still may be underpriced tonight based on his massive production lately. Over the last three games, the senior is averaging 40.8 DK points thanks to 14+ real points in each outing with a nice complement of rebounds/assists/steals/blocks in nearly every game. Thybulle does it all for Washington and is one of the biggest reasons why the team is undefeated in Pac-12 play this year. The steals and blocks are what raise his DFS value especially. Thybulle has racked up at least five steals in four straight games and has at least four blocks in four of the last ten games as well. Arizona State is about average when it comes to getting their passes stolen or shots blocked - so expect Thybulle to have at least five blocks/steals in this one to go along with double-digit points and a decent amount of rebounds/assists. He makes for a strong cash game play at the guard position.

Davion Mintz - CRE ($5,700 DK / $6,300 FD) - With leading scorer Ty-Shon Alexander and starting point guard Marcus Zegarowski out last game, Mintz excelled with the increased usage and put up 36 DK points at a similar price point he’s at tonight. On Wednesday vs. Villanova, the senior led the Bluejays with 19 points (in a team-high minutes) and added eight rebounds, four assists and a steal. Tonight, Zegarowski (ankle) will be out again and Alexander (leg) is in real jeopardy of missing a second straight, opening the door for Mintz to be the lead ball-handler yet again for Creighton in a high-scoring matchup vs. Seton Hall. Even if Alexander plays, Mintz was the starting point guard with his teammate in there and should see a ton of usage with Creighton’s short bench as is.

Other Guards to Consider:

  • Justin Coleman - ARIZ ($5,100 DK ONLY)

  • D’Shawn Schwartz - COLO ($4,500 DK / $4,900 FD)

  • Connor Cashaw - CRE ($3,200 DK / $4,000 FD)

Forwards

Rui Hachimura - GONZ ($8,700 DK / $8,400 FD) - Whenever Gonzaga is on the slate, the top two plays are always Hachimura and Brandon Clarke. The do-it-all Clarke will usually have the higher ceiling, but Hachimura boasts a safer DFS floor at a more affordable price on both sites tonight. For starters, he’s scored less than 32 DK points just three times in the last ten games with the ability to score 20+ real points, grab 7-9 rebounds and rack up 2-3 blocks+steals on a nightly basis. Gonzaga should easily beat St. Mary’s at home tonight and Hachimura could be the biggest reason why - the conference rivals notoriously don’t have the athleticism to handle his size and strength in the post or on the boards. Clarke could also have a monster game - as he did vs. San Francisco on Thursday - but you can get similar production from Hachimura and save the salary to pay up elsewhere.

Femi Olujobi - DPU ($6,500 DK / $6,400 FD) - We noted a few weeks ago how the DePaul offense had changed significantly, featuring Olujobi and Paul Reed as the focal points in the post for much of conference play. That trend has changed a bit lately, with Olujobi losing his starting spot in the last two games. Still, DePaul will need his size more tonight vs. the better bigs of Xavier and Olujobi could easily get starter’s minutes and usage even if he’s technically coming off the bench. The senior still leads the team in offensive rating, fouls drawn per 40 minutes and true shooting percentage. The advanced stats tell a better story than his current playing time but, again, that could all change tonight when DePaul will likely need his offense in the post in a tougher matchup. Also take a look at Jaylen Butz ($4,300 DK / $5,300 FD) - he’s started the last two games in Olujobi’s place and has seen an uptick in usage lately.

Trevion Williams - PUR ($4,400 DK / $5,500 FD) - Williams’ DFS production has been a bit up-and-down since re-entering the starting rotation five games ago, but he could be a nice source of value tonight thanks to a favorable matchup. His opponent tonight, Nebraska, has struggled with rebounding ever since their star center Isaac Copeland went down for the season. The Cornhuskers have been exposed on the offensive and defensive when they face talented bigs - like Maryland’s Bruno Fernando, who grabbed 19 rebounds last time out and man-handled every Nebraska forward. Trevion Williams and his 280-pound, 6’9” frame could do much of the same tonight as no Nebraska defender can handle his size in the paint. The freshman’s combined 47% rebounding rate leads the team by far and his six starts in the last seven games show he’s gained the coach’s trust as well.
