Although tonight’s DFS College Basketball slates are just three games deep, we have some entertaining teams and players to build lineups from. Four of the six teams are in the Top 25, including one of the best teams in the country (#5 Michigan), one of the fastest-paced teams in the sport (#18 Buffalo) and a Big Ten rematch between Maryland and Wisconsin.

DraftKings and Fanduel both include all three matchups, tipping at 7 pm ET.

Keep in mind with such a smaller player pool than usual on a shorter slate of games, nearly every team and game are in play. Don’t be afraid to stack teams more often than you normally would if the opportunity presents itself - especially among the favored teams.

Along the same lines, we won’t tell you to fade or target any of these games with nearly every game/team in play tonight. Instead, we’ll simply outline each of the games on the slate with the spread and implied point totals according to KenPom’s predictions.

With a specific eye towards recent game trends, favorable and/or tough matchups, rotations and KenPom’s advanced stats, we’ll outline the guards and forwards to prioritize in your DFS CBB lineups today for both sites. Let’s get into it!

Games On The Slate:

  • Michigan @ Iowa - 7 pm ET (MICH -4 / 140 Implied Total)

  • Buffalo @ Bowling Green - 8 pm ET (BUF -7 / 151 Implied Total)

  • Maryland @ Wisconsin - 9 pm ET (WISC -6 / 130 Implied Total)

Guards

Zavier Simpson - MICH ($6,800 DK / $7,600 FD) - Casual DFS players may look at Simpson’s triple-double and 50+ fantasy points last time out and lock him in at this affordable price tag. Well, they wouldn’t be wrong - especially on a short slate like tonight. Simpson has been a bit inconsistent DFS-wise during conference play, but obviously he’s capable of massive games like his most recent vs. Ohio State. His opponent tonight (Iowa) has better forwards than most of the Big Ten and usually funnel the scoring to opposing guards. This sets up nicely again for Simpson to handle the rock a ton and either score it himself or pass off to his teammates - with a few steals thrown in.

Brad Davison - WISC ($5,300 DK / $6,100 FD) - Over the last three games, Davison has become a lot more involved offensively for Wisconsin, averaging 12 shots per game from the 2-guard role. The sophomore shooter is also playing big minutes as a starter, and has put up at least 20 DK points in six of the last seven Big Ten games - including 24.75 in the last meeting with Maryland. As mentioned below, Ethan Happ has potential to get into foul trouble dealing with UMD’s Bruno Fernando. This could open up shots and scoring opportunities for Davison and the other shooters on Wisconsin if they want to win this one at home tonight. Davison is a very affordable option for the Badgers on both sites and could 5x his value if he gets hot from deep.

Dylan Frye - BGSU ($5,200 DK / $5,800 FD) - This Buffalo-Bowling Green matchup should be the highest-scoring on tonight’s slate and we definitely want some shares of each team. Frye presents a pretty affordable avenue at this price as he logs about 30 minutes as BGSU’s starting point guard. He won’t score it much, but he has potential to get hot from three-point range - making him a nice tournament and cash play on this shorter slate. He will also provide enough ancillary stats to provide 20-30 fantasy points when you consider his steals, rebounds and assists.

Other Guards to Consider:

  • Anthony Cowan Jr. - UMD ($7,800 DK / $7,900 FD)

  • Jeremy Harris - BUF ($7,600 DK / $7,400 FD)

  • Dontay Caruthers - BUF ($4,800 DK / $5,400 FD)

  • Khalil Iverson - WISC ($4,400 DK / $4,600 FD)

Forwards

Ethan Happ - WISC ($10,900 DK / $9,000 FD) - Even on a short slate like tonight’s, Happ is no lock play - despite being the clear-cut best player in action. As the salary king, his expensive tag could be one reason, but let’s look back to Happ’s first meeting vs. Maryland earlier this year. The senior got into foul trouble, had a tough time dealing with UMD’s Bruno Fernando in the paint and put up one of his worst DFS performances of the season with just 25.5 DK points. Of course Happ has the nightly upside for 50 fantasy points, but the issue is sometimes you’ll get a down night (like his last game vs. Maryland) - making the choice to pay up a deplorable one. Case in point: over the last six games, Happ has alternated outings of 50+ and less than 31 DK points. Still, you don’t want to be on the outside looking in when Happ has those dominant performances - it’s tough to fade him with just six teams in action.

Luka Garza - IOWA ($6,100 DK / $6,900 FD) - Garza has been remarkably consistent lately on the offensive end. The sophomore center has scored 20 real points in four straight games while averaging nearly 15 shots per outing. He’s settled into an offensive groove with Tyler Cook back healthy and garnering enough attention from opposing defenders in the paint. Oddly enough, the 6’11” Garza does not rebound a ton - only 4.7 RPG and just one game of double-digit boards this season - but it’s his scoring ability we’re targeting here at an affordable price at a weaker forward position than normal. Against a tough Michigan defense that defends the three-point line well, Iowa will need to lean on Garza’s scoring down low more than usual.

Nate Reuvers - WISC ($4,900 DK / $5,600 FD) - If you’re fading Happ in lineups tonight, Reuvers is the pivot you want to lock in. As mentioned above, Happ can be inconsistent and get into foul trouble at times - opening the door for Reuvers to get more involved offensively. In Wisconsin’s first meeting vs. Maryland, we saw exactly that happen. Reuvers put up 31.75 DK points and drained 4-of-8 from three-point range when Happ was sitting on the bench with fouls. We could see a similar performance tonight as Happ will have to defend and deal with Bruno Fernando in the paint - a tall task for any defending big.

Other Forwards to Consider:

  • Bruno Fernando - UMD ($8,700 DK / $8,400 FD)

  • Ignas Brazdeikas - MICH ($6,400 DK / $7,200 FD)
