Tuesday’s DFS CBB slate was an interesting one for sure. We had the chalk that didn’t disappoint (Tyler Bey), the value plays that hit big time (Isaiah Washington), AND the mid-tier options that paid off (BJ Taylor). You likely needed two or three of those guys to even get close to cashing.

Whether you won or lost last night, it’s time to get those Wednesday lineups in ahead of tonight’s 7 pm ET tips! We have five games to break down on DraftKings with four of those making up FanDuel’s slate.

As you’ll see below, there are a ton of affordable guards in play - making roster construction a bit difficult as you theoretically flip a coin to build lineups. The forward position is more top-heavy with a couple values sprinkled in.

Games To Target

Massachusetts at Temple - 7 pm ET (DK & FD) - Although Temple enters as 9-point home favorites, UMass should keep this one closer than the line suggests as they have some real offensive upside led by guard Luwane Pipkins. With the slate’s highest expected total (150 points), this game could turn into a back-and-forth track meet featuring both teams’ guard play. Temple has three talented ball-handlers of their own to counter Pipkins and the trio are all attractive targets tonight as well.

San Diego at Oregon - 10 pm ET (DK & FD) - If you’re a regular follower of these breakdowns, you know we love some #LateNightHammer action. Getting exposure to the latest games on CBB DFS slates helps you get ahead of those lineups with earlier game stacks, plus - on sites that allow late swap - you can pivot off higher-owned players to separate yourself from the rest of the field in tournaments. It helps that both Oregon and San Diego offer some interesting DFS plays as well. San Diego runs a tight rotation - keeping all of their starters in play - while Oregon has two top-tier options with some value plays who could 5x their salaries.

Guards

Luwane Pipkins - MASS ($10,300 DK / $8,700 FD) - Pipkins is far and away the most expensive guard on DraftKings making it tough to pay up for him - but he is averaging 40 fantasy points per game and provides a really high floor to anchor your lineup. If you can fit him in, do it. Pipkins is shooting a ton over the past five games - averaging close to 18 shots during that span - and is a potential triple-double threat with how much he’s around the ball on both ends.

Armoni Brooks - HOU ($7,900 DK / $8,000 FD) - Did you know Houston is undefeated this season? Casual DFS CBB players probably didn’t and they probably haven’t heard of Armoni Brooks. His price is finally in the $8,000 range as he’s averaging 30 fantasy points per game and three times has eclipsed 36. However it’s Brooks’ last three games we need to focus on here as he’s been extremely active from deep and on the boards - a rare combination for guards. During that three-game span, Brooks went 16-for-36 from three-point range and grabbed nine, nine and eight rebounds, respectively. If he continues his hot shooting from beyond the arc and hits the glass aggressively yet again - that’s a high ceiling at this price.

Corey Davis Jr. - HOU ($7,500 DK / $7,800 FD) - While Brooks may be the hotter 3-point shooter for Houston, it’s Davis who’s been the more consistent fantasy producer all season long as the Cougars’ lead ball-handler. Davis’ scoring has fallen off a bit from his hot stretch to start the year, but he will have to make more plays than usual tonight in what should be a competitive matchup with LSU - a team with strong guard play itself. Brooks is the better tournament play but Davis is a safer cash game option.

Nate Pierre-Louis - TEMP ($6,700 DK / $7,600 FD) - All three Temple guards are in play every slate they appear on, but let’s focus on the cheapest of them. Pierre-Louis plays 30+ minutes on a consistent basis as the Owls run guard-dominant lineups more often than not. He may not be the pure scorer that Alston and Rose are for Temple, but he does just enough in every category to give you 25-30 fantasy points and the potential to 5x his salary in what should be a back-and-forth game vs. UMass.

Olin Carter III - SD ($6,500 DK / $6,900 FD) - When teams face Oregon and elite shot-blocker Bol Bol, they usually adapt the game plan to feature more outside shooting with higher usage among the guards. Fortunately for DFS players, the top three San Diego guards should all provide high floors tonight with the increase in point-scoring opportunity. This sets up perfectly for Carter, who has double-digit shot attempts in each game this year with half of those coming from deep. Carter is a really solid cash game play on this slate.

Curtis Cobb - MASS ($6,100 DK / $6,500 FD) - Pipkins is the star for UMass but Cobb offers a safe floor as the secondary scoring option for this offense. Over the last six, Cobb is averaging 26 fantasy points and double-digit shot attempts per game with a pretty balanced stat line of 13 real points, 4.5 boards and 2.7 assists during that span. If you don’t pay up for Pipkins, Cobb presents the opportunity to get exposure to Massachusetts at a noticeably lower price point.

Tyler Williams - SD ($5,700 DK / $5,700 FD) - As mentioned above with Carter, Williams could see an increase in shot attempts from the outside as San Diego tries to avoid Oregon’s dominant shot-blocker, Bol Bol. Williams doesn’t have the upside of Carter or Isaiah Wright, but he still logs 35 minutes per game for the Toreros at a cheaper price than his backcourt mates.

Will Richardson - ORE ($4,700 DK / $5,100 FD) - Following a string of disappointing losses over the season’s first month, Oregon coach Dana Altman has reshuffled his starting lineup and rotation. The freshman Richardson started last game as a de facto second point guard alongside stud Payton Pritchard. Ironically, Richardson turned in a dud fantasy performance - albeit in a blowout win over Omaha - but he’s gaining more and more of Altman’s trust and could see 30+ minutes tonight like he did in the loss to Houston two games ago.

Forwards

Bol Bol - ORE ($11,200 DK / $9,000 FD) - You’ll have to spend a pretty penny to get Bol in your lineups on DraftKings while he’s more reasonably priced on FanDuel. No matter the site, though, the Oregon center has legit 50 fantasy point upside with a 35-point floor. Again, he’s easier to roster on FD but for tournaments tonight, it’s tough to fade a guy that can easily score 30 real points with a double-double and 3-4 blocks thrown in.

Jordan Nwora - LOU ($8,200 DK / $8,100 FD) - It’s crazy to think that Nwora used to come off the bench for Louisville earlier this season. He offers one of the highest floors on the slate but has 50 fantasy point potential - like he showed last game out vs. Indiana. The mid-major Lipscomb plays fast and should give Nwora more opportunity for rebounds making a double-double performance with 20 real points a legit possibility.

Markis McDuffie - WICH ($7,400 DK Only) - Wichita State has scored anywhere from 48 to 90 points in games this season - but McDuffie still produces no matter how bad or good the rest of the team plays. His floor has been consistent on a nightly basis as he’ll routinely get his 12-15 shot attempts with a variety of ancillary stats thrown in. Although he’ll have to deal with Jacksonville State’s Jason Burnell down low, McDuffie rarely gets into foul trouble to give you any serious worries.

Alex Floresca - SD ($4,000 DK / $5,500 FD) - With Yauhen Massalski sidelined for the past 3+ games, Floresca is starting for San Diego at the second forward spot alongside stud Isaiah Pineiro. If Massalski is out again tonight, Floresca presents really good value for cash and tournaments. Pineiro will have his hands more than full with Oregon’s Bol Bol in the paint which opens the door for San Diego’s other starters to produce. In those four games Floresca logged starter-level minutes, he reached 18 fantasy points in three of them. We’ll take a 5x play all day at this price.

Samba Diallo - MASS ($3,600 DK / $4,400 FD) - This value play solely depends on the status of Jonathan Laurent. Laurent sat out last game recovering from a knee injury and Diallo started in his stead to the tune of 22 fantasy points in 27 minutes vs. Providence. If Diallo indeed starts again tonight, he can realistically give you a double-double - a lock play at this cheap price.
