If you’re anything like me and you woke up this morning to your fantasy football team missing out on the playoffs - don’t fret! The answer to all your problems lies with daily fantasy sports and - in particular here at Fantasy Alarm - College Basketball DFS.

The CBB season is now a month old and for the first time since 2016, DFS College Hoops is back in play on many sites. I’ve been playing almost nightly since the beginning of November and have a comfortable grasp on rotations and production for the mid-majors, the Top 25 programs and everything in between.

As you’ll notice in my slate breakdowns, I’ll start by focusing on the 2-3 games to target overall based on implied point totals projected by Vegas, expected pace of the matchup and offensive/defensive efficiency numbers curated by KenPom. Then we point out the guards and forwards to prioritize in your DFS lineups for the night.

DraftKings’ roster construction is as follows: 3 Guards, 3 Forwards and 2 Utility players.

FanDuel’s is a little different: 4 Guards, 3 Forward and 1 Utility. Depending on the size of the slate, we’ll highlight the top 5-8 players at each position to lock into your lineups.

Tonight, we’ve got a 5-game slate on DraftKings and a 4-gamer over on FanDuel. Let’s dive into the games and break down which players & teams you should be targeting.

Games To Target

Iowa @ Michigan State - 6:30 pm ET (DK & FD) - You’ll want a piece of both these offenses in an up-tempo game that should be closer than the line suggests (MSU -10.5). In this matchup with the slate’s highest total (156.5), the Spartans bring the 9th-most efficient offense in the nation while Iowa plays at a blistering pace - 62nd among all Division I teams, which is pretty for a Power 5 program.

Liberty @ Georgetown - 6:30 pm ET (DK & FD) - With a few likely blowouts muddying the field tonight, we look to the closest game on the slate. Georgetown is favored by just 5.5 at home against a Liberty team that’s dangerous in its own right. The game could be low-scoring but - as you’ll see below - you’ll want some of the cheap exposure on Liberty.

Guards

Cassius Winston - MSU ($8,700 DK / $8,300 FD) - The Spartans’ primary ball-handler has been very consistent to start the season and offers a high floor even at this price. The offense clearly runs through him as he’s racked up at least six assists in every game but one this year while averaging close to 18 points. His price is surprisingly lower than it’s been on recent slates.

Geo Baker - RU ($6,900 DK / $7,400 FD) - When building DFS CBB lineups, you want to rely on minutes and usage for guards especially. Baker is putting up a ton of shots (averaging 14 per game over the last three outings) and logging a true starter’s workload (30 or more minutes played in every game but one this season). He is the offensive workhorse for Rutgers.

Terance Mann - FSU ($6,100 DK / $6,700 FD) - With the Seminoles still missing forward Phil Cofer to injury, they’ve leaned more heavily on their guard play to open the season. Mann has a solid cash game floor as he brings more rebound upside than most other guards on this slate. For some reason, his price is also the lowest it’s been this season to date.

Darius McGhee - LIB ($5,500 DK / $5,700 FD) - McGhee is the prototypical shooter off the bench for Liberty. He’s shot at least five 3-pointers in each game this year for the Flames and if he gets hots - like he did two games ago going 5-10 from deep - he can easily return 4x at this price. Despite not starting, he still logs about 20 minutes for the Flames with upside for close to 30.

Khalil Iverson - WISC ($4,400 DK / $5,300 FD) - Iverson hasn’t had a breakout offensive game this season yet, but he offers a good mix of ancillary stats to return value on this cheaper price tag. With the Badgers big favorites at home, the junior guard could get more run as a ball-handler in the second half as well.

Elijah Cuffee - LIB ($4,100 DK / $5,500 FD) - Yep, another Liberty guard for you to ponder. The Flames commonly play 3-4 guard lineups and when Cuffee gets minutes, he shoots a ton - especially from three. Although, Cuffee is more attractive on DK where he’s forward-eligible and his salary is a lot easier to fit in.

Forwards

Ethan Happ - WISC ($11,500 DK / $9,200 FD) - He’s the most expensive player on the slate for a reason. Happ has a legitimate 35-point fantasy floor as he’s racked up a double-double in all but one game to start the year. With plenty of value tonight, it’s definitely possible to pay up for one of college basketball’s best players.

Tyler Cook - IOWA ($7,500 DK / $7,500 FD) - Iowa has been a frustrating team to roster in DFS this season because any one player can have a big game while the other options fail to return value. Cook has scored at least 20 fantasy points in each game this year with a chance to reach 40 if his rebounds are there. More of a tournament play at this price point.

Rayshaun Hammonds - UGA ($7,000 DK Only) - Tom Crean’s lineups have always been tough to predict but Hammonds brings a solid shooting percentage when he gets his turn. Although he has some risk to get into foul trouble, Georgia has been feeding him in the post over the first month of the season with upside to score 30 - like he did a couple weeks ago.

Joe Wieskamp - IOWA ($6,100 DK / $6,400 FD) - Wieskamp is one of those secondary Iowa options who could have a big game at Cooks’ expense. His usage has risen over the past three games where he’s averaging 15 points and 8 boards over those contests. With such a weak forward position, Wieskamp offers a good floor.

Justin Hopkins - TXSO ($3,300 DK Only) - If Hopkins plays 32 minutes like he’s done twice this season already, this price is way too low on DK. He can easily 5x his salary if given the playing time which could come against a Georgia team with two good forwards to match up with.
