QUARTERBACKS

Quarterbacks

C.J. StroudOSUMICH1000029.771100027.57
The Ohio State passing attack looks unstoppable right now and Stroud is rightfully the Heisman favorite following last week’s shellacking of Michigan State. Though things get tougher on the road vs. Michigan this weekend, Stroud’s DFS ceiling remains high as evidenced by his 11:0 TD:INT ratio and 80 DK points over the last two games combined. People will mostly likely choose between Stroud, Brennan Armstrong and Bryce Young as their QB1 in cash or GPP - but the OSU gunslinger can easily put up the best numbers with how hot this offense is rolling.
Brennan ArmstrongUVVT9800371070034.15
If you don’t go with Stroud, then Armstrong gets the slight edge over Bryce Young as the high-end pivot in either cash or GPP. Now that he’s back healthy, the UVA dual-threat owns as high of a floor/ceiling combo as any QB in the country and the matchup vs. Virginia Tech is a favorable one. He provides a realistic 30 DK floor (like he did last week in his return from injury) and a 50+ DK ceiling (like he did in the two previous games). Can’t blame you if you go Armstrong over Stroud too.
Phil JurkovecBCWAKE780023.88830020.80
DK corrected Jurkovec’s price this time around, but he still remains a solid cash play on both sites. The Wake Forest defense is allowing a ton of yards both through the air and on the ground and competent ACC QBs have exploited the matchup all year. Jurkovec should be the latest to do so and he even brings some dual-threat upside into the mix. He makes for a safe Super-Flex option on this slate.
Anthony BrownOREORST770022.43950022.56
Though he struggled vs. Utah last week, we can expect a bounce-back performance for Brown at home against an average Oregon St defense. The rushing is why we like the Ducks’ dual-threat more than other QBs for DFS and it was only a couple games ago when he ran for 123 yards and a TD. Last week was likely an anomaly for Brown, but normally his rushing provides a decent floor for your cash Super-Flex.
Sean CliffordPSUMSU610018.38870016.19
In order to play Clifford this week, you have to force yourself to ignore last week’s 1.3 DK point performance. Just throw that out because it came in a blowout win vs. Rutgers where PSU went run-heavy and didn’t need to throw it a lot. It should be a closer contest vs. Michigan State here and Clifford will be the latest QB to benefit from a favorable matchup vs. a weak pass defense. Maybe he won’t match C.J. Stroud’s numbers from last week, but Clifford can easily put up 20-30 DK points to return value on these cheap tags.
Connor BlumrickVTUV450011.24760011.86
This is a wait-and-see play because we don't know yet if it'll be Burmeister or Blumrick under center to start for Virginia Tech. Last week, Blumrick came in relief of Burmeister and promptly ran for 132 yards and tossed two TDs for 25 DK points. That would be a massive value at his DK price tag here and likely make him popular in cash if we get word early on that he’s starting. This matchup vs. UVA’s terrible defense is obviously nice, so fire up Blumrick if he gets the nod.

Also Consider:

  • Bryce Young -- Alabama ($9,700 DK / $10,700 FD)
  • Sam Hartman -- Wake Forest ($9,300 DK / $11,500 FD)
  • Jordan Travis -- Florida State ($6,900 DK / $9,000 FD)
  • Aidan O’Connell -- Purdue ($6,500 DK Only)
  • Cade McNamara -- Michigan ($5,900 DK / $6,200 FD)

RUNNING BACKS

Running Backs
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Braelon AllenWISCMINN870022.41
Most will ignore Allen in this tough matchup vs. Minnesota, but we can’t overlook what the freshman has done lately. He’s reeled off seven straight 100-yard performances and has put up 40+ DK points in back-to-back games coming into this weekend. At least we know Allen will get the volume in Wisconsin’s run-heavy offense with no one challenging him for carries - especially in the red zone. It’s just a GPP play, though, because Minnesota has been tough on RBs this year.
Brian Robinson Jr.BAMAAUB860024.981000023.26
If you’re paying all the way up at RB in cash, Robinson is the top option on this slate. While Auburn’s rush defense is about average this year, we can bank on Robinson being heavily involved as a ball-carrier and pass-catcher this week. As good as Bryce Young is, this is still his first Iron Bowl game on the road and we’ll likely see the Bama offense lean on Robinson for a balanced approach. The top-end of RB isn’t as strong on this slate, so Robinson stands out.
Abram SmithBAYTTU720020.6870017.24
We’ve been targeting the Texas Tech rush defense all year, so let’s do it here with Smith headline Baylor’s backfield. Though Smith was held to only 46 yards last week vs. Kansas St, he reeled off four straight 100-yard performances beforehand and will likely return to that level of production here. TTU’s rush D is giving up 4.9 YPC and 173 YPG to opposing Big 12 backfields and Baylor’s run-heavy offense can exploit this. Smith normally sees about 20 carries per game, but he may get more work with Bohanon dealing with a hamstring injury and either limited or out.
Pat Garwo IIIBCWAKE610014.06770013.17
Wake’s rush defense is one of the worst in the country, allowing 206 YPG and 5.17 YPC to ACC backfields this season. Garwo has had success in some favorable matchups this year and he can easily put together 100+ yards and a TD or two against Wake’s soft defense. The only worry about Garwo is if Jurkovec is vulturing TDs away in the red-zone. Still, the GPP ceiling is there for BC’s lead back in this matchup.
Chase BrownILNW580016.72
You know the drill! Fire up those lead RBs vs. Northwestern’s terrible rush defense. We’ve been taking advantage all season and we get one last chance to do so with Chase Brown and the Illinois run game. Brown has had some massive rushing totals already this year, including 147 yards vs. Minnesota and 223 yards vs. Penn State over the past month of games. Add this matchup vs. NW to the list. Brown is way too cheap for what his ceiling is in this matchup and he’ll likely be popular in all formats.
Donovan EdwardsMICHOSU50008.1660006.91
Edwards is coming off a breakout game of sorts last week, though it was as a pass-catcher out the backfield and not as a rusher. The Wolverines’ backup RB racked up 10 receptions for 170 yards and a TD vs. Maryland. Maybe this is just a one-game outlier, but there’s a decent chance Edwards is involved plenty as a receiver this week with Michigan needing to keep pace with Ohio State’s high-scoring offense. It’s the classic boom-or-bust GPP play, but the price tags are cheap enough to take the chance.
Christian TurnerWAKEBC39006.2458004.89
Unfortunately the Wake Forest backfield is up in the air as it pertains to who will be healthy and which guy will be leading the way. Last week, both Beal-Smith and Ellison were out and it left Christian Turner as the lead back - though he also split carries with Quinton Cooley and the offense didn’t run it much while trailing Clemson. If we get word that Beal-Smith and Ellison are out again, then Turner is very interesting as a cheap flier against a bad Boston College rush defense that’s giving up 210 YPG and 5.4 YPC to conference opponents.
Isaih PachecoRUUMD39009.29
Though the game-to-game stats are worrisome, Pacheco is a nice GPP value option against Maryland’s poor rush defense. Only two games ago, the Scarlet Knights’ lead back put up 19 DK points with two rush TDs vs. Indiana - and he could easily replicate that performance here. Pacheco’s game logs are ugly because usually Rutgers is trailing and not running it much. This week, though, could lead to more volume for him and enough production to return value.

Also Consider:

  • TreVeyon Henderson -- Ohio State ($8,200 DK / $9,300 FD)
  • Travis Dye -- Oregon ($7,600 DK / $9,500 FD)
  • Jashaun Corbin -- Florida State ($6,500 DK / $7,200 FD)
  • Raheem Blackshear -- Virginia Tech ($5,900 DK / $6,800 FD)
  • Trestan Ebner -- Baylor ($4,400 DK / $6,300 FD)
  • Malik Davis -- Florida ($3,900 DK / $6,400 FD)
  • Trey Lowe -- Oregon State ($3,400 DK / $4,900 FD)

WIDE RECEIVERS

Wide Receivers
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Jameson WilliamsBAMAAUB860026.39960023.12
If you’re playing Bryce Young, then Williams is the natural pairing option. The two have formed a lethal combination lately with Williams catching three TDs in back-to-back games coming in. He’s now put up 35+ DK points in three straight and should see a healthy amount of targets yet again this week. You can look towards John Metchie from Bama too, but Williams has the better floor/ceiling combo right now.
Jahan DotsonPSUMSU790024.64900019.63
If you’re fading both the Alabama and Ohio State receivers, then Dotson presents a nice contrarian GPP pivot in the high-end WR range. This matchup vs. Michigan State is a wide receiver’s dream and Dotson likely has a ton of success against the shaky MSU secondary - just like OSU’s pass-catchers did last week. Dotson may not be as popular because of the other top WRs in action, but his floor/ceiling combo can be as good as any.
Garrett WilsonOSUMICH740024.55940020.35
Per usual, look to pair C.J. Stroud with either Olave or Wilson in all formats. Smith-Njigba is also in play, but Wilson is the best option among the trio right now and he shouldn’t be the cheapest on DK at this point. He’s put up 54 and 35 DK points in the last two weeks, respectively, since sitting out a game and he’s a go-to option for Stroud (as is Olave). Can’t go wrong with either in cash - even in a tougher matchup on paper.
Keytaon ThompsonUVVT720020.69850016.69
It may seem crazy to see Thompson priced up this high after he was once sub-5k on DK earlier in the season. However, he’s been that good from a floor/ceiling perspective in this high-scoring UVA offense and will continue to produce in a favorable matchup against Virginia Tech. The former QB is still sometimes used as a ball-carrier, but he’s become a legit pass-catcher with at least nine receptions in four straight and five of the last six. The floor is as safe as it gets for cash if you don’t want to pay for Alabama or Ohio State guys.
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Bo MeltonRUUMD510014.83
Maryland’s defense can’t stop anyone right now and Melton should have a ton of success against a shaky secondary. As Rutgers’ top receiver, the DFS floor is pretty safe for 5-6 receptions and 50-60 yards with plenty of upside for more in this matchup. On the DK slate, he’s too cheap at just over 5k and could end up a popular cash play.
Justin ShorterUFFSU50009.9661007.86
We’ve yet to mention this Florida rivalry matchup that could end up as one of the higher-scoring of the whole slate. It’s hard to trust any one guy on either offense, unfortunately, but Shorter has some upside at affordable price points. He has at least five catches and 90+ yards in three of the last five games while becoming more involved in the Gators’ attack in this final stretch of the season. The FSU pass defense shouldn't deter us from looking at the UF offense and Shorter for some GPP upside.
Chigoziem OkonkwoUMDRU440012.1
Regular CFB DFS players surely know about Okonkwo by now. The Maryland tight end has now put together three straight productive games and continues to be a solid value at a cheap tag. He’s going to see plenty of targets in this offense as one of Taulia Tagovailoa’s favorite pass-catchers and the Terps’ injuries opening up more opportunities. The floor is pretty solid for cash and Okonkwo has also already shown his upside too.
Jackson AnthropPURIU440010.76
Even though he “only” had three catches for 51 yards last week, Anthrop is way too cheap at sub-5k on DK for what he’s already shown. In the three previous games, he put up 18+ DK points each time and has been plenty involved in Purdue’s pass-heavy offense over the past month. Plus, he’s even involved as a ball-carrier at times to give him a better cash floor than most in this price range.
Parker WashingtonPSUMSU410013.0268008.14
If you don’t want to pay all the way up for Dotson, then Washington is a nice cheap avenue to the Penn State passing attack vs. Michigan State’s poor secondary. Washington honestly should not be this cheap (at least on DK) for having put up 22, 13 and 19 DK points in three of the last five games. He’s benefiting from defenses focusing more on Dotson at times and Clifford is looking his way plenty to return value.
Shedrick JacksonAUBBAMA34008.5959006.68
Jackson had been quiet for most of this season, but he broke out last week with seven receptions for 111 yards and 21 DK points. In that game, Jackson showed a clear rapport with Tigers’ backup QB T.J. Finley - who’ll be getting the start with Bo Nix out this weekend. We know Auburn will likely have to throw a ton to keep up with Alabama here, so expect Jackson to see plenty of targets to return value. This looks like one of the best values on the slate.
