Welcome to the Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Report! The waiver wire is key to winning. It helps you improve on the team you drafted, and to help patch holes when players go down due to injury. It’s something most managers will monitor daily. Let’s take a look at who we should be adding this week.

Trevor Zegras - Anaheim Ducks - Winger/Center

Trevor Zegras is only 53% owned in Yahoo! leagues, and I can’t explain why. Ryan Getzlaf is out of the lineup, and Anaheim is going to need their young centerman to perform, and we know he can. He’s going to see a ton of ice time, and that could lead to more points. In deeper formats, he’s probably not available, but doable check your waiver wire just to make sure, because if he is, you need to add him now.

Jason Spezza - Toronto Maple Leafs - Winger/Center

We talked about Michael Bunting last week, but if you weren’t able to scoop, you might have a chance to grab Jason Spezza. He’s been red hot of late, and with Mitch Marner out of the lineup, the veteran has been promoted to the top line. He’s going to see a boost in minutes, and that can only help his production. This isn’t a long-term solution, but for fantasy owners dealing with injuries, this is one player who can help you immediately.

Pavel Zacha - New Jersey Devils - Center/Winger

Pavel Zacha has been playing a lot of minutes over the last 30-days, and that trend should continue if he can stick on the top line with Nico Hischier and Jack Hughes. All three also play together on the top power play unit, so the opportunities for Zacha are endless. I like the upside here, especially with a soft schedule coming up this week. He’s widely available across most platforms and is worth considering for the upcoming week.

Alexandar Georgiev - New York Rangers - Goalie

With Igor Shesterkin out due to a lower-body injury, Alexandar Georgiev is going to get an opportunity to be the starter for the next few days. The injury to Shesterkin doesn’t sound serious, but head coach Gerard Gallant did say that his starting goalie would be out at least a week, and Georgiev is more than capable of stepping in and playing well. He’s only 28% owned in Yahoo! leagues and should be added if he’s still available.

Scott Perunovich - St. Louis Blues - Defence

If you don’t know who Scott Perunovich is, it might be time to educate yourself. The rookie has five points in ten games this season, which isn’t amazing, but is still pretty good considering he’s only seeing second power play minutes and doesn’t play more than 20-minutes a night. He had 20-points in 12 AHL games before being called up, and the transition has seemed to have gone well to this point. He’s not going to blow you away, but he’s providing some fantasy value, and he’s free on all platforms. If you need some depth on the blue line, the 23-year-old is worth considering.
