Dallas Stars Vs. Chicago Blackhawks

The Dallas Stars still have an outside chance at making the playoffs, but the odds are not in their favour. They need to win this game if they want to keep their chances alive.

If you are targeting them in DFS, I’d look at the second line of Jason Robertson, Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin. Robertson has been an absolute stud this season, and Seguin has been good since missing almost the entire season due to injury. A winger-winger stack would be the best route to that here.

On the blueline, John Klingebeg is always a good option. He joins Robertson and Benn on the top power play unit, so if you’re looking for power play correlation, that’s certainly the route to take.

In goal, it should be Anton Khudobin who gets the call. He’s been shaky over the last ten games, but he gives his team the best chance to win. If Jake Oettinger gets the nod, he can also be considered.

On the opposite side, the Blackhawks have nothing to play for, but that doesn’t mean that we just discredit them. They have the lowest implied team total on the slate, but as mentioned earlier, the Stars goaltending hasn’t been great.

Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat are always good options, but if I had to pick just one to use as a single-bullet, it would be DeBrincat. He has eight goals in the last ten games, while Kane has only one goal in the same span. I’ll take the $500 savings with DeBrincat and spend it elsewhere.

Outside of those two, the only other player I would consider is Kevin Lankinen (if he starts). It’s been an up-and-down season for the kid, but is he better than Malcolm Subban? No question. He’s $7300 on DK and has some sneaky value if you aren’t buying the Stars scoring goals.

Ottawa Senators Vs. Calgary Flames

On paper, the Calgary Flames still have a chance to catch the Montreal Canadiens, but I expect that dream to end as early as tonight.

Calgary basically has to win all their remaining games, and that is an impossible task. I do expect their effort to be high, so that’s good news for us.

The only line I’d consider touching is the top line of Johnny Gaudreau, Elias Lindholm and Matthew Tkachuk. All three play on the top power play unit, so you can stack all three, or pick just two that work with your lineup. Johnny Gaudreau has ten points in the last ten games, and he’s cheaper than Matthew Tkachuk on DK, so that would be the player I would pair with Lindholm.

On the blue line, Mark Giordano joins all three on the top power play unit, but he’s also the most expensive defenceman on DK. That being said, he has hit the double bonus in three of the last four games, so he’s earned his price tag. There aren’t a ton of defenceman that I like tonight, but he’s certainly my top option.

In goal, Jacob Markstrom is the obvious choice. He’s been very good over the last ten games, but his team just hasn’t given him much support.

On the other side, the Ottawa Senators aren’t a great team, but boy do they work hard. The beat the Jets yesterday, and I wouldn’t be shocked if they win this matchup.

Brady Tkachuk has been quiet over the last four games, yet he’s $7500 on DK. we can usually pencil him in for a ton of shots per game, but that hasn’t been the case of late. You can use him as a single-bullet, but I’d look to spend my salary elsewhere.

That elsewhere is Tim Stuetzle and Shane Pinto. Both players were very good last night against a pretty decent Winnipeg team, and they could have similar success in this game. Yes you could go with Josh Norris and Drake Batherson, but I like the value in Stuetzle, and no one is going to be targeting Pinto. You’ll need some cheap players in your lineup, and the latter two are the best bang for your buck.

Speaking of bang for your buck, Erik Brannstrom is $3100 on DK and is seeing time on the top power play unit. He’s elevated his game since Thomas Chabot went down due to injury, and gives us added exposure to the top man advantage. Again, he’s another cheap option that can help us hit value.
