Guards

Cole Anthony - North Carolina - FD $8,500 - DK $9,700

Anthony isn’t priced up enough to consider fading him. Kira Lewis Jr. is going to draw some interest and ownership, but Cole Anthony is going to put up 35+ fantasy points every single night and he’s hit 52 and 40 to start the season. UNC is going to dominate George Weber, and both teams play at a fast pace. Anthony has taken 24 shots in each of the first two games, and it’s been the funnest thing to watch in college basketball. He’s dominating every possession and there’s no way you can fade him until the price reaches rise another thousand or so. You’re playing with fire if you fade Cole Anthony in any format. To touch on Kira Lewis Jr., I think he puts up 40 as well. That game is going to be high-scoring and extremely close. Lewis Jr. is another NBA lottery pick and one of the best players in the country. He’s worth a GPP look at the very least.

T.J. Haws - BYU - FD $6,300 - DK $6,600

T.J. Haws is clearly underpriced on both FanDuel and DraftKings. Haws averaged 18 points, four rebounds, and three assists last season on 33 minutes a night. With Yoeli Childs suspended for the first nine games of the season, Jake Toolson and T.J. Haws are going to be relied on to score the ball a ton. Haws hasn’t gotten it going just yet, but he’s going to average 30+ minutes a game and 30+ fantasy points. Houston plays fast and Haws is a guy you should be locking into your cash games tonight. He’s up there with Vernon Carey Jr. on FanDuel as being mispriced and a must play in cash.

Jermaine Haley - West Virginia - FD $7,100 - DK $8,200

Jermaine Haley is a six-foot-seven shooting guard and his height allows him to do a ton against smaller guards. He’ll face off with Xavier Johnson tonight and have a four-inch advantage on a guy who was an average defender last season. Haley put up 16 points, seven rebounds, and three assists in the opener against Akron. He topped it off with three steals to reach 35 fantasy points. Culver is going to be the number one scoring option for West Virginia, but Haley is going to be the guy that plays big minutes and has to do it all. He’ll rebound like a forward and give you 30-40 fantasy points on a consistent basis. He’s a smart player, doesn’t turn it over often, and uses his height to his advantage. In a game that’s expected to be close (PIT -1.5, 145 O/U) and high-scoring, Haley should play 32+ minutes and his price isn’t high enough on either site yet.

Fatts Russell - Rhode Island - FD $6,700 - DK $6,500

Daron “Fatts” Russell is a name you know if you’re a college basketball fan. He averaged 14 points, four rebdounds, and three assists last season and played 34 minutes on average. He’s back to more of the same this season, playing 35 and 40 minutes to start the season. This game is one we want to target as much as possible and Russell is underpriced on both sites. We touched on how Alabama is playing faster this year under the new coach, and it’s going to pick up the pace for Rhode Island as well. Expect both teams to get over 70 points and for the game to be extremely close. The offense runs through Russell and Langevine, and Rhode Island is going to score 70+ points tonight. Russell is an elite play in all formats.

Andrew Platek - North Carolina - FD $4,200 - DK $4,500

Platek is still dirt cheap on FanDuel and he’s played 27 and 25 minutes in the first two games. UNC is going to blowout George Weber and the reserves will see plenty of time. Platek does it all when he’s on the floor and it’s not hard for him to rack up fantasy points in bunches. I like Platek getting over 20 fantasy points for the first time this season. He’s a solid value option in both cash games and tournaments.

Filip Petrusev - Gonzaga - FD $8,100 DK $8,500

I think Petrusev is one of the best players in college basketball. He has some of the best big man instincts I’ve seen in college and isn’t afraid to ask for the ball. You can even see him get frustrated when he has elite position on every possession and is sometimes ignored. The offense still runs through Petrusev when he’s on the floor and he should finally get 30 minutes in this game. He hasn’t played over 23 minutes this season, but has still posted FP totals of 47, 34, and 28. He’s dynamic when he’s on the floor and Texas A&M won’t be able to slow him down. If he does get 30 minutes here, 50 fantasy points is in the realm of possibilities. He’s my favorite forward, regardless of price.

Cyril Langevine - Rhode Island - FD $7,300 DK $7,700

Langevine averaged 32 minutes a night last year and put up 14 points and 10 rebounds on average. This game sets up perfectly for Langevine, as Alabama plays fast and has a terrible interior presence. Their two leading rebounders are 6’5 John Petty and 6’3 Kira Lewis. Center Galin Smith will likely get some more run tonight, but there’s a reason he’s stunk in 12 minutes a game. Langevine is going to see 12-15 shots in this game and his energy could result in 40+ fantasy points. This is our favorite game to target with the tight spread and high total, and Alabama is going to play at one of the fastest paces in the country. Langevine creates a huge mismatch issue and is my favorite point-per-dollar forward.

Vernon Carey Jr. - Duke - FD $6,200 DK $7,200

Vernon Carey Jr. is one of the best freshman in the class and he’s likely going to be a top three pick in the NBA draft. He hasn’t been super impressive from a fantasy standpoint to start the season, but he had a tough match-up in game one and wasn’t needed in games two and three. He still put up 30 fantasy points last time out and his first double-double. 30+ fantasy points is going to be the norm for Carey Jr. and his price is a huge overreaction. Expect him to be well into the $8k’s come tourney time. His minutes likely won’t be crazy in a blowout, but 28-30 minutes and 30+ fantasy points is a fair expectation. He’s a lock at forward in all formats.

Alihan Demir - Minnesota - FD $4,000 DK $4,600

Demir is my favorite value play on the slate and I think he goes mostly overlooked. Minnesota is going to need the extra size with Allen, Gach, and Battin all posing real threats in the paint. Demir has been over 20 minutes in every game so far and I wouldn’t be surprised to see 30 here. The price couldn’t be better and he allows you to do so much elsewhere while still maintaining some upside. He averaged 15 points and seven rebounds a season ago before transferring to Minnesota. The talent is there and he’ll be needed on the floor with the size of Utah. Demir can be deployed in both cash games and tournaments.
