Congratulations if you made it to Week 2 in Survivor pools. It's never easy to advance, although the top options in Week 1 all won. The biggest favorites – Buccaneers, Rams and 49ers – all won, although Tampa Bay needed a field goal in the final seconds to beat the Cowboys. Some tried to be sneaky and get Jacksonville out of the way since they won't win many games and it backfired as they lost on the road to the Texans. Three teams are double-digit favorites as of Thursday afternoon: the Packers (-10.5), Browns (-12.5) and Buccaneers (-12.5).

Here are my top survivor picks for the week.

  1. Cleveland Browns: The Browns played well last week and should have beat the Chiefs on the road. They were ahead by nine with 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter and lost, 33-29. The Browns averaged 8.2 yards per play. The Browns outgained the Chiefs, 329-183, in the first half and led 22-10. The Texans are coming off a 37-21 win over the Jaguars, but they are one of the worst teams in the NFL. They could lose every game the rest of the season. The Texans are one of the worst teams against the run and the Jaguars foolishly didn't exploit the weakness. The Texans allowed 4.8 yards per carry and Jacksonville had 51 pass attempts and 16 runs, including 12 pass plays of the first 14 in the game. If you want to look ahead early to next week, the Browns are the biggest favorites at nine points at home against the Bears. Some might save them for next week and go with one below.
  2. Green Bay Packers: Recommending a team that lost 38-3 in Week 1 and didn't show up at all isn't common, but for some reason Aaron Rodgers has had two of his worst games in the last two seasons in Florida. The game last week against the Saints was in Jacksonville and the other one was last season in Tampa Bay, 38-10. The Packers are home on a Monday night against an awful Lions team. The Lions lost 41-33 to the 49ers at home, but were down by 28 points. The Packers beat the Lions twice last season, including 42-21 at home. This is a great bounce back spot for Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay.
  3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The Falcons looked lost in Week 1 at home losing to the Eagles, 32-6. While division games are always tricky, the Buccaneers having an extra few days to prepare after opening on Thursday night. The Buccaneers are loaded on both sides of the ball and the Falcons had no answer for Jalen Hurts and won't be able to stop Tom Brady. The Falcons offensive line couldn't slow down the Eagles and have to face an excellent front seven. The Buccaneers defense wasn't great against Dallas in Week 1, but they applied a lot of pressure on Dak Prescott, who made a lot of good throws.
