That's a shocker although Zacha has been very hot of late with all 12 points coming in his last 11 contests including a current eight-game scoring streak. The former first round pick is finally becoming comfortable at the NHL level and he finally has some fantasy value after a tough four seasons.

Vehvilainen will back up Joonas Korpisalo on Saturday. Vehvilainen gave up three goals on 24 shots in his only AHL game this season as he picked up the loss for Cleveland.

The budding superstar has been struggling of late as even his goal was into an empty net. After scoring six times in the Hurricanes first eight games, Svechnikov has been snake-bitten of late. He needs a goal soon to turn his season around. Svechnikov has seven goals and 16 points in 19 games so he has been a fantasy asset but there is so much more for Svechnikov to give.

The Leafs forward has been in a huge slump offensively with only one assist in his last 15 games. “He hasn’t been able to make his mark,” coach Sheldon Keefe said. “There have been positives (Vesey’s defensive play and penalty-killing), but at the same time, others have come into the lineup and made an impact, especially offensively.”

Marcus Hogberg (lower body) is not close to returning to action.

Hogberg was injured nine days ago and the prognosis at the time was one-two weeks but that is not going to happen as he has yet to return to the ice. “He hasn’t skated so he’s not going to be back in the foreseeable future,” coach D.J. Smith said. “It’s not long-term but it’s long enough that he won’t be in there in the next few games.” Hogberg is 2-5-0 with a 4.34 GAA and a .859 save percentage so he should not even be in your fantasy lineup when healthy.

The Ottawa Senators have unconditionally released Filip Chaplik.

Chlapik, who was drafted in the second round, 48th overall, in 2015 had five goals and 11 points in 57 career games with the Senators. "After considerable dialogue with Filip and his representation, we have mutually decided to part ways," said Senators general manager Pierre Dorion. "We're appreciative of Filip's efforts with the organization, both in Belleville and in Ottawa, and wish him the best as he moves forward." Look for Chlapik to play in Europe the rest of the season.

Frolik could see his first game action Saturday as he has been a healthy scratch all season. Frolik was sent to the minors and played a couple of games with Laval but was held off the scoresheet. He practiced with Paul Bryon and Jake Evans. Should he finally draw into the lineup, do not expect much offensively from the fourth-liner.

Bobby Ryan is enjoying his life in Detroit and would love to return next season even if he is traded at the deadline.

Ryan inked a one-year deal in the off-season and knew that it was a distinct possibility that he could be dealt to a contender, at or before the NHL trade deadline which is April 12 this season. “When I signed, I knew (being traded) was something that was going to be a possibility if I played well,” Ryan said Friday. “And it was going to be a win-win situation if I played well, possibly for me to get the opportunity to go somewhere and be in a playoff race and for the team to get an asset. I understand the business side of that thing...Whether (a trade) is tomorrow or five weeks down the road I feel very fortunate I’ve gotten to play here, wear the winged wheel. I love the group, love the coaching staff. Everything about it has been an incredible experience. So, if there’s an opportunity for me to come back in the summer, it’ll be a conversation that (GM) Steve (Yzerman) will have with me. I don’t know what his plans are, but it will be very high on my list. I absolutely love it here.” Ryan is tied for the Red Wing lead in goals with five and 11 points. He has little fantasy value as he had four goals in his first three games with Detroit and only one in his last 18 contests.
