Currie was recalled from the taxi squad on Thursday before going back on Friday. He had two goals in three games with the Baby Pens of the AHL but has yet to play this season with the Penguins.

Jakub Voracek practiced on the third line Friday alongside Scott Laughton and Oskar Lindblom.

The trio have all been out with COVID and in the interim, the Flyers have been happy with their top-two lines of James van Riemsdyk-Sean Couturier-Joel Farabee and Claude Giroux-Kevin Hayes-Nolan Patrick. "It's called my COVID line," coach Alain Vigneault harmlessly joked about the Voracek line. "I figured I'd keep those guys together. I liked the way Hayesy's line and Coots' line and Bunny's line played last game. After speaking with both Oskar and Scotty on the ice at the end of practice, they both want to play. I'm hoping that as far as the response from our COVID protocol or COVID players, that they're going to be like G — full of energy and the execution and the timing and the intensity is going to be there. That's what I'm keeping my fingers crossed about, but everybody reacts differently. We'll see, we'll take it a game at a time and see how our guys are going and how they're feeling." All are expected to return to action Saturday when the Flyers take on the Sabres in Buffalo.

K'Andre Miller was back in the Rangers lineup Friday after missing one game due to COVID.

Miller played 21:13 and blocked four shots in the Rangers 6-2 win over Boston. “He gives us such a presence back there, his ability to move pucks, his skating, his ability to defend,” head coach David Quinn said. “We’ve talked about it a lot since the season started, the adjustment he’s made to this level, as easy as he’s made it look and as quickly as he’s made it. It’s really surprising in a lot of ways. We certainly miss him when he’s not in the lineup.” The talented Miller has a goals and four points in 15 games this season.

Ryan Lindgren had two assists and a plus-three rating Friday in the Rangers 6-2 win over Boston.

Lindgren was originally drafted by the Bruins and came to the Rangers in the Rick Nash deal in 2018. Lindgren, who partners with Adam Fox on the Rangers blueline, also had four hits in the contest. “No one was backing down tonight,” Lindgren said. “They’re a physical team. They like to jaw after the whistle and, you know, do things like that. We weren’t backing down. We were giving it right back. And we were smart with our physicality, too. We weren’t taking dumb penalties. It was a great team effort, and we came to play tonight.” Lindgren has a three-game points streak going with four helpers and has seven assists in 18 games this season with a plus-six rating.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau has seven goals in his last eight games.

After not scoring in the Islanders first 10 games, Pageau is making up for lost time as he has 10 points in 18 contests including two goals while shorthanded. Pageau was a great pickup from the Senators last season as his defensive acumen as well as his secondary scoring are a huge factor in the success of the Islanders.

That's a shocker although Zacha has been very hot of late with all 12 points coming in his last 11 contests including a current eight-game scoring streak. The former first round pick is finally becoming comfortable at the NHL level and he finally has some fantasy value after a tough four seasons.

Vehvilainen will back up Joonas Korpisalo on Saturday. Vehvilainen gave up three goals on 24 shots in his only AHL game this season as he picked up the loss for Cleveland.

The budding superstar has been struggling of late as even his goal was into an empty net. After scoring six times in the Hurricanes first eight games, Svechnikov has been snake-bitten of late. He needs a goal soon to turn his season around. Svechnikov has seven goals and 16 points in 19 games so he has been a fantasy asset but there is so much more for Svechnikov to give.
