Brady Skjei Headshot

Skjei contributed a pair of helpers in Friday's overtime win over the Red Wings.

Skjei made a fantastic play in overtime to set up Mats Zuccarello, completing his first multi-point effort of the season. The 23-year-old is very valuable to the Rangers, but his eight points through 23 contests aren't great from a fantasy perspective. There's no denying his fantasy potential, however, as Skej does see power-play time and now has points in back-to-back contests. It looks like the slow start may be behind him, so he may be worth looking at if he's available.

Stephen Johns Headshot

Johns sustained an upper-body injury in Friday night's 6-4 win over the Flames, the Associated Press reports.

A burgeoning defenseman, Johns was limited to 8:18 of ice time and departed in the second period. While Stars goalies and select fantasy owners will cringe at the thought of possibly losing a guy who's amassed 49 hits and 33 blocked shots through 20 games, the silver lining is that Dallas doesn't hit the ice for another game until Tuesday against the Golden Knights. We fully expect Johns to be reevaluated ahead of that contest.

Philipp Grubauer Headshot

Grubauer allowed just one goal on 26 shots on his way to capturing his first victory of the season in a 2-1 win against the Lightning on Friday.

The German netminder was one of the best backup goaltenders in the league last season, but early in 2017-18, he's been one of the worst streaming options. In eight appearances coming into Friday, he owned a .876 save percentage and 3.86 GAA. Furthermore, he was 0-5-1 in six starts. That record is quite incredible, considering Grubauer lost just six during regulation in 24 appearances last season. Maybe Friday's performance will get him going.
12:29 am (EST)
Mats Zuccarello Headshot

Zuccarello scored the overtime-winning goal Friday against the Red Wings.

That's a three-game point streak for Zuccarello, who now has four goals and 14 assists in 23 games on the season. Given the lethal precision and accuracy he showcased scoring the winner, it may be surprising that he's only gotten into the goal column a few times this season. The 30-year-old remains a reliable point producer who plays on the power play and should be owned in most fantasy settings. Zuccarello is heating up right now, so make sure you get him in your lineup.
12:24 am (EST)
Andrei Vasilevskiy Headshot

Vasilevskiy yielded two goals on 37 shots in a 2-1 loss against the Capitals on Friday.

The 23-year-old was pretty exceptional once again, as he has no more than two goals in five of his last six starts, but that wasn't enough against Philipp Grubauer and the Capitals. Even with the loss though, Vasilevskiy leads the NHL with 15 victories and only has three regulation losses. He has exceptional percentages as well, but that's enough to make him a dominant fantasy starter.
12:24 am (EST)
Jonathan Bernier Headshot

Bernier allowed two goals on 27 shots in a 3-2 shootout loss against the Wild on Friday.

Coming off a shutout of Dallas on Wednesday, Bernier has officially broken out of his slump even though he lost Friday night. In his last two games, Bernier has posted a .964 save percentage and stopped every shot at even strength but one. That snaps a five-game stretch where he recorded a .877 save percentage. It will be interesting to see if the Avalanche stick with Bernier in the second part of the back-to-back on Saturday against the Flames.
12:19 am (EST)
Henrik Lundqvist Headshot

Lundvist stopped 40 of 41 shots in Friday's overtime win over Detroit.

Lundqvist was simply sensational and picked up his third straight victory. The King earned first star honors for his performance, as the only shot that beat him was a perfectly placed snipe from Tomas Tatar in the third period. Lundqvist is at the top of his game right now and he's brought his save percentage up to .918 on the season. He starts almost ever game for the Blueshirts and should be an automatic roll whenever he's in action.
12:12 am (EST)
Alex Stalock Headshot

Stalock allowed two goals on 30 shots in a 3-2 shootout victory against the Avalanche on Friday.

The 30-year-old backup was off to a so-so start, posting a .927 save percentage but 2.56 GAA in his first five games. He was spectacular Friday, though, as he turned aside 19 of 20 shots at even strength. The other goal the Avalanche scored came while shorthanded. Stalock then stopped both shootout attempts he faced to capture the victory. Depending upon the matchup, Stalock is quality streaming option moving forward.
12:12 am (EST)
Jimmy Howard Headshot

Howard stopped 29 of 31 shots in Friday's overtime loss to the Rangers.

Howard play quite well in the loss and bounced back nicely after getting pulled in his last outing against the Oilers. The 33-year-old owns a solid .924 save percentage on the season and is 8-6-3 record is more reflective of the team's lackluster play than his own individual performance. He might not be your best bet for wins, but Howard's solid rate stats make him worth owning in the majority of fantasy settings.
12:06 am (EST)
Pekka Rinne Headshot

Rinne stopped all 34 shots in Friday's 2-0 win over St. Louis.

Rinne has now won eight of nine, and few have been more impressive than this one, as he went into the arena of the Western Conference leaders and completely shut them down. Even in bad matchups on paper, like this one supposedly was, Rinne has been a strong play throughout the season.
