Christopher Tanev Headshot

Tanev (thumb) is a game-time decision Friday versus the Devils, TSN Vancouver reports.

Troy Stecher is returning for this game, so even if Tanev isn't quite ready yet the Canucks will be reinforced defensively to some degree. That being said, Tanev plays more minutes and has five point through 15 games. With so many games, you likely have better options for your fantasy team, but you may want to keep an eye on Tanev's status anyway.

John Miller Headshot

Miller (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Chiefs, Joe Buscaglia of 7 ABC Buffalo reports.

This will be Miller's second straight absence after leaving practice last Thursday with an ankle injury. Ryan Groy will likely once again be the primary reserve at guard on the Bills' offensive line line Miller's absence.
11:34 am (EST)
Troy Stecher Headshot

Stecher (knee) will return to action Friday against the Devils, TSN Vancouver reports.

Stecher has missed the last 14 games with this injury. Last season, he managed 24 points in 71 games, but he had only one point in eight contests before he banged up his knee.
11:34 am (EST)
Kelvin Benjamin Headshot

Benjamin (knee) did not take part in Friday's practice, Joe Buscaglia of 7 ABC Buffalo reports.

Unless Benjamin gets some work in behind the scenes Friday he will not practice at all this week, so the chances of him taking the field this week are not good. Expect an official update on Benjamin's Week 12 status following the conclusion of Friday's session.
11:26 am (EST)
Jeremy Lamb Headshot

Lamb will start at shooting guard in Friday's game against the Cavaliers.

With Nicolas Batum (elbow) out for Friday's contest, Lamb will make his return to the starting lineup. Lamb is coming off one of his best performances of the season in Wednesday's overtime win over the Wizards, as he scored 24 points to go along with seven rebounds, five assists and three blocked shots. Now, as a starter, Lamb should see even more opportunties on the offensive end, especially against a Cavaliers defense that has been leaky at times.
11:23 am (EST)
Nicolas Batum Headshot

Batum (elbow) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Cavaliers.

Batum is still dealing with a contusion to the same elbow he injured prior to the start of the regular season, so it makes sense that the Hornets are taking precautionary measures with the swingman. Batum has not been given a specific timetable for recovery, but he said he feels fine, so it shouldn't be too long before he is back on the floor. In his absence, Jeremy Lamb will get the start at shooting guard while rookie Dwayne Bacon will likely see extended minutes off the bench.
11:19 am (EST)
Cam Ward Headshot

Ward will tend the goal at home against the Maple Leafs on Friday.

This is perhaps a bit of a surprise, but Ward has played unusually well this year. He has a .922 save percentage through five games, but that's not likely to continue. He hasn't posted a save percentage higher than .910 in his last five seasons.
11:17 am (EST)
Rasmus Ristolainen Headshot

Ristolainen (upper body) will return for Friday's game against the Oilers, the Buffalo News reports.

This return couldn't come soon enough for the Sabres. Ristolainen is Buffalo's best defenseman, and he plays a ton of minutes. Before he was injured, he was averaging 27:10 per game in ice time.
11:12 am (EST)
Kari Lehtonen Headshot

Lehtonen (personal) is back with the team ahead of Friday's game with the Flames.

Lehtonen may be returning, but he's still backing up Ben Bishop. This just means Mike McKenna is heading back down to the AHL.
11:10 am (EST)
Robin Lehner Headshot

Lehner will start in goal for Friday's game against the Oilers, John Vogl of The Buffalo News reports.

Lehner last came in for relief of Chad Johnson in Wednesday's matchup with the Wild and played nearly 39 minutes, allowing two goals on 19 shots. The inconsistent play from the goalies has been a big reason for the Sabres' struggles this season, but Lehner will have an solid opportunity Friday against an Oilers team that has struggled to put the puck in the net so far this season.
