Week 3 of the NFL season is right around the corner and the wide receiver picture looks very differently already in just the first two weeks of the season. Receivers in Carolina aren't looking as badly as we thought before the season started, while the situation in Indianapolis continues to look bleak. Is rookie A.J. Green going to continue what he did in Week 2? How many points are the Chargers going to put up against the Chiefs this week? What effect will Jerome Simpson's "delivery" have on his fantasy value? Will we be in awe of Ochocinco's statistics? Below are how I think the third week of the season is going to play out and so much more in the world of wide receivers.
The position that seemed to gain the most steam in 2011 in fantasy football was wide receivers. They never would be even thought of in the first round in years past, but this season I saw as many as four in the first twelve picks. Of course the highlight of the week was Wes Welker's 99 yard touchdown reception on Monday night, but also Calvin Johnson proved once again that he is just completely unguardable. Dez Bryant looked like he was going to take the next step towards fantasy stardom, and Kenny Britt he can run on the field too, not just from the police. The passing games across the NFL were in sync like never before, and now you have to wonder if that trend will continue. From Calvin Johnson to Dominik Hixon, take a look at who will be the top 50 performers in the world of wide receivers in Week 2.
