Sean Renfree Headshot

Falcons have released Sean Renfree.

Renfree served as the backup to starter Matt Ryan in 2015. He saw limited action last season, completing three passes for 11 yards, over seven attempts. He also threw an interception during garbage time. With Matt Schaub now ensconced as the backup QB behind Ryan, Renfree became expendable.

Arthur Lynch Headshot

Falcons have released Arthur Lynch.

Although the Atlanta tight end corps are not overly deep with talent behind Jacob Tamme, Lynch is no longer in the mix. He has bounced around the league, wearing uniforms for the Dolphins, Jets and Falcons but has no stat line in actual game action.

Sergio Brown Headshot

Falcons have released Sergio Brown.

Brown had caught on with Atlanta after being released by Jacksonville in April. Brown was slotted in as the fourth option at strong safety on the Falcon depth chart, so the move is not unexpected. He can be ignored in IDP leagues.

Danny Trevathan Headshot

Danny Trevathan is dressed but unsure if he will play on Saturday.

Trevathan has been hobbled by a hamstring issue, and he has been an infrequent participant in practice in any form this week. The Bears are likely to take it cautiously with their young linebacker. He is questionable for the Saturday contest against Kansas City, based on this report.

Dan Altavilla Headshot

Mariners will recall Dan Altavilla from Double-A Jackson.

Altavilla is a bit of an unknown, not even being on the Seattle 40-man roster. He is a converted starting pitcher, and has excelled coming out of the bullpen, racking up 16 saves at Double-A Jackson, with a superb 1.91 ERA and 65 Ks over 56 and 2/3 innings in 2016. The Mariners obviously want to see if his minor league success can translate to the big leagues.
