During normal weeks, you might be able to get by without adjusting your lineup... not so during bye weeks. Returning from a much needed break in week eight are Michael Turner, Willis McGahee, Jamaal Charles, Reggie Bush, LeSean McCoy and Ryan Matthews. Studs like Ray Rice, C.J. Spiller, Fred Jackson, BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Arian Foster need replacing in your lineup this week. Tight ends returning include Tony Gonzalez, Brent Celek and Antonio Gates with Dennis Pitta, Scott Chandler, Jermaine Greshman and Owen Daniels on bye week.

Running Backs

Strange that Fred Jackson is our leader out of the backfield this week.... isn't  C.J. Spiller the third down back in Buffalo? Rashad Jennings should put up solid numbers in Maurice Jones-Drew's absence. Shonn Greene exploded two weeks ago and now shows he can get it done in the passing game. If Mikel Leshoure can get consistent looks from Matt Stafford, move him up a few spots on your board. Darren McFadden continues to be an every down back.... when healthy. Alex Green was shut down on the ground last week, but showed what he learned in the Hawaii passing game. LaRod Stephens-Howling gives us all hope... unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) only one of us can get him in each league. When Darren Sproles is only getting targeted four times by Drew Brees you know he isn't putting up big numbers.  Adrian Peterson is a much different story, when four targets could be part of a very large performance. Trent Richardson is playing through injury, which explains his limited activity. Chris Johnson had the kind of game that keeps him in the first round of drafts, no matter he wasn't involved in the passing game. Steven Jackson with zero targets, which isn't exactly surprising.

Tight Ends

The biggest news from the position is the season ending injury to Fred Davis. When you are a major option for RG3, that is news. Fortunately for the Redskins, they have Chris Cooley waiting in the wings, but that's a drop off for us fantasy folks. Brandon Myers has been inconsistent, but is coming off an excellent week. Owen Daniels also is coming off a similar performance, but like the rest of the Houston passing game, is taking a backseat to Arian Foster and Ben Tate. Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez both had a good week, the first time that has happened since last month. Dustin Keller looks to be a strong second half option after being a non-factor up to now. Kyle Rudolph has hit a slump, but after the hot streak he had, the law of averages took over. Jermichael Finley has been a major disappointment, allergic to the end zone, but to be fair- has had injury concerns. How about a goose egg for Vernon Davis, painful- but overlooked by many owners since it was on Thursday night. How good has Tony Gonzalez been? How about remaining atop the leaderboard AFTER his bye week.  After firing out of the gate, Dennis Pitta has really slowed down with Ed Dickson even making a bit of a move last week. Jason Witten deserves some sort of award or bonus, playing through the spleen injury- ouch. Jimmy Graham owners may get a sighting this week- lets hope you didn't take him TOO high. Martellus Bennett may be poised for a big second half after a brief dip in recent weeks.
