Well yeah, you can't sleep on Siemian because the other quarterbacks are rookie Paxton Lynch and Mark "the definition of average" Sanchez. Siemian has never thrown a pass in a regular season game, and the fact that he is in the running for the starting gig shines light on just how iffy this quarterback situation is.
Not only did he run the bases, but he also got an at-bat, in which he fouled out. He has missed three games with a sprained MCL, but it didn't appear to be an issue today. He should be in the starting lineup tomorrow.
Harper left the game after being hit by a pitch and is now considered day-to-day. The Nationals can beat the Phillies without him, so if the team wants to rest Harper's knee for a day or two, now would be the best time to do it. The team also has an off day on Thursday before starting a series with the Cincinnati Reds.
It's been a tumultuous two years for Pitta. He's dealt with serious injuries, but according to various reporters, Pitta is looking strong at OTAs. Pitta hasn't played in a game since 2014 and barring anything crazy, his long awaited return will be a big boost for the Ravens passing attack. His best season as a professional came in 2012 when he caught 61 passes for 669 yards and seven touchdowns.
While the personal accolade is a great goal, the fact of the matter is that if he goes out there and performs like he did last season, he should make the Pro Bowl this season. Gilbert had a great season and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger would love for him to only allow one sack again!
