The choices are clear this week. For those with priority or the biggest FAAB budgets, will it be hitting and Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo, or pitching and Arizona's Trevor Bauer? A fairly hearty list this week, which includes three possible sources for saves. This week's starters have been vetted, with at least two quality starts back to back, or have a track record of success.
Have you wondered where your team would be had you acquired R.A.Dickey in your draft or auction? The knuckleballer has moved his owner into first place in my league almost single handedly. Obviusly, he is no longer available, but I just needed to vent. Some interesting possibilities this week with a pair of veterans returning, a top prospect, along with four, yes four possible targets to acquire saves. Good luck in your FA bidding on waiver moves.
The volatile closer situation seems to have settled a bit... for now. We do have one emerging end of game prospect and the usual collection of starters who have hit a hot streak. This week's list has some good young talent that you could be catching on the front end of a break out season.
As we head into June and the associated swoon for pretenders, plenty of solid pitching prospects are available across most leagues. When evaulating pitching I analyse four areas: Potential, Historical, Recent Performance and Strikeout/Walk ratio.
