It’s the final stretch and for some leagues the playoffs are either underway or fast approaching. We have a nice infusion of talent with roster expansion and some of the finest prospects in Major League Baseball getting a taste of "The Show". If you are in the money, or battling for position, here are the waiver wire pickups for Week 23, if not, you are probably already working on improving your Fantasy Football team!
It is definitely crunch time across fantasy nation and the start of the NFL pre-season isn't helping one focus. Teams that have a shot at finishing "in the money" will find the time, but its the rest that you should be worried about. As owners give up on the 2013 Fantasy Baseball season and turn their attention to football, their rosters often lag from inattention. This is not a new issue and there is nothing that can really be done about it. As prospects are called up, especially after September 1st, rebuilding fantasy franchises will be looking to add to their '14 rosters, which is best case for keeping everyone involved.
As the calendar rolls into June, we have also reached the one-third mark of the season. Trends are meaningful and gaps are real in your fantasy standings. It seems we get an influx of prospects in bunches and this week was no exception. The All-Star ballots are out at major league ballparks across the land and also on the Internet. I like the "select team" option, allowing you to vote for all the players on your favorite team with one click. Also the home run derby voting is an interesting touch. On to the most important news each and every week, our top choices on the waiver wire and free agency.
