LeSean McCoy Headshot

LeSean McCoy will not play on Friday night.

McCoy has played in the first two preseason games and will be the lead back from seasons beginning to end. The Bills don't need to see anything more out of McCoy as they know what they have and don't want him to further injure his sore ankle. McCoy heads into this fantasy year as an RB1 option.

Brock Stewart Headshot

Dodgers recalled Brock Stewart from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Stewart hasn't exactly been what you call a fan favorite thus far as he's allowed 15 earned runs in just 12 big league innings. He's likely a depth addition and will serve as the Dodgers long reliever.

Carlos Ruiz Headshot

Carlos Ruiz is in the Dodgers lineup on Friday.

The newly acquired Ruiz will jump right into the action as the Dodgers brought him in just on Thursday. The Dodgers picked up him because he handles left-handed pitching better than A.J. Ellis did. Ruiz isn't a very reliable fantasy option, however. He's on the downside of his career.

Joc Pederson Headshot

Joc Pederson is out of the Dodgers lineup on Friday.

With a left-hander on the mound for the Cubs, the Dodgers will implement their normal heavy right-handed hitting lineup. Kike Hernandez will start in center field.

Desmond Jennings Headshot

Rays will release Desmond Jennings on Saturday.

First he was sent down, then he was injured, now he'll be outright released on Saturday. We're not sure why they're even waiting another full day, but Friday is seemingly his last day with the Rays organization. Jennings put together a very underwhelming season thus far for Tampa hitting an even .200 with just six home runs and only two stolen bases. The Rays have a logjam in the outfield so there was simply no place for Jennings any longer. He doesn't turn 30 until October so a fresh start could be rejuvenate his career. Hey, look what happened for Carlos Gomez in his first at-bat with the Rangers on Thursday!

Michael Saunders Headshot

Michael Saunders is available off the bench on Friday.

Friday will be the second straight day Saunders misses but he will actually be available if the Blue Jays need a bat off of the bench. When Kevin Pillar was scratched, Ezequiel Carrera was inserted into the lineup, not Saunders, so the assumption was his hamstring wasn't healthy enough to give it a go. We were awaiting to hear how severe the injury was but it's clearly healed well enough to have him available to pinch-hit. He should return to the Jays lineup at some point this weekend.
