Pardon me for my lack of enthusiasm on the call-up of Anthony Rizzo. You see, this happened a year ago, and yours truly made a number of moves to get in position to have the left handed hitting first baseman on his roster when San Diego called him up. Rizzo was over matched, sent back down and eventually traded to the Cubs. Although I won't be chasing him this time around, the spotlight will certainly be on his Chicago debut this week.
Have we reached the dog days of Summer yet? If your team resembles mine, there are a number of areas that need a boost. What are we looking for at this point of the season? As we hurdle towards the midway point, trades, injuries and minor league call-ups make up the core of player availability.
Plenty of hitting emerging this month to provide your team with that needed shot in the arm. We have five star prospects finally delivering and injured veterans getting healthy. As temeperatures continue to heat up across the country, balls are flying out of the park. If you need help behind the plate, in the middle, corner or outfield, we have some talent certain to improve your club.
