Kelly Olynyk Headshot

Gerald Green (hip) and Kelly Olynyk (shoulder) did not play in Friday's scrimmage.

After being able to put up some shots just this past Wednesday, Kelly Olynyk didn't play in their scrimmage game on Friday. Expect the Celtics to be cautious with Olynyk as their front-court is crowded in Boston anyway.

Tim Lopes Headshot

The Blue Jays have acquired minor league infielder Tim Lopes from the Mariners.

Lopes hit .284/.358/.355 with one homer, 49 RBI and 26 stolen bases in 131 games at Double-A Jackson this season. He's headed to the Blue Jays organization.

Tyrell Jenkins Headshot

J.R. Smith Headshot

Lebron James is putting pressure on the Cavaliers organization to re-sign J.R. Smith.

King James, the real GM of the Cavaliers, usually gets what he wants. Expect the Cavs to meet the King's want for them to re-sign J.R. Smith. Smith was an key role player in the Cavs NBA Championship team last season. Smith is a streaky player but when he gets hot, there aren't many players in the NBA that can rival his three point shooting ability.

Tyler Anderson Headshot

Rockies pitcher Tyler Anderson will miss his final start due to arm soreness.

This is unfortunate, but also understandable that the Rockies do not want to push their 26-year-old lefty. Anderson has had a solid rookie campaign in Colorado, posting a 3.54 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 99-to-28 K/BB ratio across 114.1 innings (19 starts).

Chris Bosh Headshot

Chris Bosh has stated he does not believe his career is over despite his recent medical issues.

The drama continues. Bosh has unfortunately dealt with a blood clotting issue in his lungs that has held him out of action for long stints over the past two seasons. He and the Heat have had a public dispute going on in recent days, as the team cut ties with the 11-time All-Star.

Corey Kluber Headshot

Indians manager Terry Francona told reporters that the team is hopeful that Corey Kluber will be able to start Game 2 or Game 3 of the ALDS if he has no setbacks.

Kluber suffered a quad strain in his start this past Monday. The original prognosis is that he would need about a week or a few days longer to recover to the point of getting back on the mound, so this timeline fits.

Yan Gomes Headshot

The Indians have activated catcher Yan Gomes from the 60-day disabled list.

Gomes has missed most of the second half of the season due to a wrist injury, but he is getting back in action just in time for the playoffs. The 29-year-old backstop struggled to a .165/.198/.313 slash line across 262 plate appearances prior to the injury, but he does have plenty of thump in his bat.

Carlos Carrasco Headshot

The Indians have transferred Carlos Carrasco (finger) to the 60-day disabled list.

Carrasco's chances of returning to the Indians' staff during the upcoming playoffs were already slim at best. Now, the team will prepare to be without the 29-year-old righty. Carrasco has posted an 11-8 mark with a 3.32 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 9.2 K/9 across 25 starts this year.

Danny Salazar Headshot

Indians pitcher Danny Salazar threw a side session on Friday as he works his way back from injury.

The Indians clinched the A.L. Central with plenty of room to spare, but their pitching staff is plagued with injuries heading into the playoffs. This is at least somewhat positive for them, as Salazar has been out of the rotation since September 9th. He is targeting a return during the ALDS.
