The FA Show’s overriding mission is to not only satisfy the hardcore fantasy fan, but be entertaining for the casual and even non-sports fans by using fantasy sports as the focal point to talk about a wide range of sports related topics. Jeff can drop fantasy statistics with the best of them but also use candid and often self- loathing humor to keep the listeners tuned in. We are of the opinion that the “fantasy sports guru” and “number cruncher” angle is being done all over the radio. Although we have those things well covered and recognize their importance we believe there is no reason one should not be entertained when learning why Albert Pujols should be the number one pick in the draft. While the show isn't always conventional, Jeff's unique perspective guarantees The Fantasy Alarm Show always entertains its audience and gets them talking around the water cooler the next day.
Jeff Mans has been playing fantasy sports for over 20 years and has been writing and broadcasting about them in some capacity from the beginning. In 1992 at the age of 15 Jeff started one of the first online bulletin boards about fantasy football using the Prodigy internet service. Throughout the '90's Jeff appeared on several local underground fantasy football radio shows earning a reputation as a young stat rat. In 2005, Jeff launched his own website named Scout Fantasy Football and thus officially launched his career in the Fantasy Sports industry.
He has appeared on numerous radio shows and podcasts across the country including KGME AM-910 in Phoenix, WDAE AM-620 in Tampa, Fox Sports Radio AM-920 in Las Vegas and WMVP AM-1000 in his native Chicago. Jeff has also hosted several of his own shows including The Fantasy Baseball Scouting Report, The Fantasy Football Scouting Report, Fantasy Baseball Tonight, Fantasy Football Tonight and Fighting Chance Radio. In most circles Jeff is considered to be one of the finest fantasy football experts and high stakes players in the industry. Jeff's accomplishments and championships in both seasonal and daily fantasy sports gaming are far to many to list here.
In 2010, Jeff merged websites with his radio partner and good friend Ryan Hallam and became a Co-Owner of Fighting Chance Fantasy Sports. Fighting Chance was quickly acquired by Fantasy Alarm LLC in August of 2010 and Jeff became the Vice President Of Sales & Marketing, Senior MLB & NFL Writer and Co-Host of The Fantasy Alarm Show.
Before making fantasy sports a full time job, Jeff ran his own PC Repair business which he sold in 2005. In high school and college he was a free lance sports reporter and writer for several local newspapers and covered everything from Women's Soccer to Men's Basketball for his college newspaper. Jeff has a passion and love for writing and has written everything from music to screenplays and has had his writing published in print in newspapers such as the USA Today Sports Weekly and online on such websites as bleacherreport.com, cbssports.com and foxsports.com.
Jeff resides in the suburbs of Chicago where he lives with his wife of 11 years and three children. His favorite teams include the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Bulls. He considers the greatest sporting moment of his life to be watching the Chicago White Sox win the 2005 World Series. That event has had a dramatic impact on his life and has taught him that absolutely anything is possible in sports and in life.
