Coco Crisp is expected to need surgery to remove a bone spur and chips in his right elbow.
The surgery would keep Crisp out six to eight weeks and would make him droppable in mixed leagues. The A's would be left with Craig Gentry, Billy Burns, and Mark Canha to fill in for Crisp and Josh Reddick, who will likely also begin the season on the disabled list. Burns and Gentry would likely get most of the playing time though Canha would probably play against lefties. Stephen Vogt could play some in the outfield as well. none of those players is likely to be useful outside of AL-only leagues.
